Ever wonder what life is like for a pastor after Sunday service is over? Charles Wallace, Pastor of Calvary Christian Life Baptist Church, was no saint. He didn’t always practice what he preached. His lovely wife and three daughters appeared to be the perfect family to those looking in from the outside. However, during Thanksgiving dinner a showdown takes place exposing everyone’s secrets for all to hear. The shocking revelations that come to light rock the Wallace household dividing the family. Lies, deceit, infidelity and broken trust put a strain on Charles’s ability to serve as a leader, husband and father. Will the Wallace Family find unity to get there house in order before they run out of time to make things right?
This book is very interesting, imaged or truth¿ We always expect our Pastors to be perfect, often times we tend to forget that they are human and had pass lives. Great Read for all who need a peek at real drama.
Although this was a good book filled the drama I like. It jumped and skipped. But I do like learning stuff like the restaurant they visited in Atlanta. I will check it out. And the wine Lady Walks drinks. I will try. But back to my issues with the book.....The first was the phone call Pastor Wallace received from Deacon Black about Deacon Brown. We never found out what that was. The book made your think Deacon Black was up to no good but there was no story to quench those thoughts. Tia drives a $100,000 car a Telsa but works 3 days a week at a community college with a Bachelors and a Masters. I know she was a dancer but she had the car before she started dancing. Tia and Queen fell out but when and why. All we read was Tia forgiving Queen. When did she start dating the white boy? Tia was suppose to bring pregnancy test to Lauren but the story skipped all that and she was 4 months pregnant. Also no one was supposed to know Tia was an Exotic dancer. But at the table for Thanksgiving giving it seamed Gabby knew. And why did Pastor Wallace make to comment to Lady Wallace about getting over the hump about his indiscretions with Angela. Made me think Lady Wallace knew about Angela. Then she confronted Angela in the church. Then this letter appeared telling her. But the book made you think she knew. Then Lady Wallace ain't got no income job but driving a Porsche truck. Wearing all these labels and red bottoms with a $1500 month spending limit. WTF. I thought I was gone read about an affair or stealing from the church. I could go on and on but whatever. It's good but it skips subjects and make you think about major scandals.
This book was such a disappointment first off its a little too similar to the show Greenleaf it wasn’t juicy enough and it didn’t keep me on my toes like urban books are suppose to I kept reading thinking something exciting would happen but it didn’t at least when I watch Greenleaf it keeps me on my toes and it’s exciting and then the author had the nerve to name the church Calvary she was original with her book at all the only difference is Tia was a stripper Gabby is a lesbian and Lauren got pregnant this book was such a bore
Omg I love this book. I’m so glad LaToya recommended it. This book is a must read. I was looking for a different read and found it. The thanksgiving dinner was something lol. I love how the family got together and was glad Connie secrets were revealed since she was quit to turn her nose up and voice an opinion about everybody else. I’m glad everything turned out ok for Tia, Gabby, and Lauren. Great read...This is a must read
Wow this was a good read. Love it. First time reading Sweet Tee book and it was well put together. The moral of this story is to forgive. No one is perfect only God. Pastor and his family have their flaw and the kids gross into adulthood and it affect them. As the old proverb says Mother suck the sour grape children teeth on edge . Love. Have to read more of your books...
I think the actual story line is good but I cannot deal with the grammatical errors. Also in one paragraph in a switch from first person to 2nd to 3rd before you get to the next page that's just ridiculous. Invest in a good editor or proofread your own work before you put it out for people.
Enjoyed the various character plot and storyline. Got a little confusing in the middle and end when it seems as if some information was left outcharacter plot and storyline. Got a little confusing in the middle and end when it seems as if some information was left out.
I really liked the topic of this book. It makes you wonder about the lifestyles of your pastor and his family. The have always said that preachers kids are the worst kids. I gave it four stars because of a few errors that should have been caught in editing. But overall it was a wonderful story.
I must say this was not an easy read. There was so much back and forth that sometimes it was hard to determine if the context was in the past or present. This would have been a 5 star had it flowed. Nevertheless, I would like to read more from this author.
Recommend with some caution. You have to stay focused. Not a bad read but could improve. Proofreading is also essential
The writing was not developed. The story was not cohesive and there were several contradictions. This book was in desperate need of editing. Not sure why all the 5 star ratings (which is why I made this selection), but the saving grace is there's no sequel.

This was not what I expected at all i know first hand this can happen in real life it was parts i was very upset but it kept me reading . With faith and trust in the Lord he can make us over if willing. Must read
The book had a good plot but the time line was all over the place. A lot of things were out of order and somethings just didn’t fall in place. First it was said she knew who her real dad was and then she’s shocked. It has to be one or the other.
When you sit back and read what other people could be going through, you try to learn from it. This is a good book. Every family is not perfect. Never judge a book by it's cover.
I was ready for juicy scandals butt this was tame despite the title. Good work by the author. It DID speak to issues that are important in today's world. Thanks for the mention on another book about scandalous church folk...
Very enjoyable and somewhat complicated book. It shows that even in the ministry we are not shielded from the real world, no matter how we hide behind the church. Good read.
Everyone has a story to tell. Even pastors fall by the wayside as evidenced by Pastor Wallace. With prayers and faith, the darkness shall turn to light.
I really enjoyed this book! It was very relevant to the struggles and concerns of Pastors and First Ladies of churches today concerning their children. I would recommend this book!
