VERY CUTE (in an old school way.) Includes multiple helpful recipes for sides, turkey (alongside tips, ect), selected readings, games, poems, songs, and a brief history on Thanksgiving. It also includes a very sweet memory keeping section in the back.
The historical portion and the journaling sections are my favorite. It’s very cute how you can record who carved the turkey and specifics about the yearly football game. The reading selections are left wanting - they’re pretty dry and unimportant stories of Thanksgiving.
But all in all, this is a great themed book. I’m looking forward to getting it out every year!!
This is one of the best holiday traditions books I've read. It includes the history of Thanksgiving, recipes (there are some great looking soup recipes I'm going to try), Thanksgiving psalms and prayers, Thanksgiving songs (lyrics and music), Thanksgiving-themed stories and poems, and ideas for after-dinner games. It also includes lots of historic illustrations that are really fun to look at. I checked a copy out from the library and then bought a copy from Amazon because I liked it so much. I plan to read from this book when my daughter is a little older, and my husband and I plan to read one of the psalms, prayers, or poems before Thanksgiving dinner every year. A great collection.
This is a theme cookbook based upon the holiday of Thanksgiving. There are stories of tradition from the first celebration to throughout the United States. So many recipes to try out! It's simply a wonderful keeper.
My book is so worn out, and papers falling out; if the author reads this, would he please...please...mail me a new copy. Money is too tight to order one, and I would be forever grateful.
I really like this book. I have prepared a number of the recipes and found them tasty. The additional features such as history, prayers and songs, stories and games just make it all around a useful book to have on the shelf.
A neat collection of Thanksgiving history, recipes, songs, poems, stories, psalms and activities. A good thing to read and ponder as we lead up to Thanksgiving!
