Karyn is a free-lance journalist, preparing to start her own magazine. Her life seems uninteresting until her twin sister get caught up in a bunch of mess and her best friend shows up, unannounced. Karyn is trying to keep it all together when two unlikely men begin to show interest in her. This is all more than she can handle. Evolution has known since he was a teenager that his path would cross with the girl of his dreams again, he just didn’t know it would so soon. He knows his heart’s desire but trying to get Karyn to see his heart is proving to be difficult. And then there is David. He is the graphic designer for Karyn’s magazine and finds himself attracted to her. He isn’t sure if it is lust or something else drawing him toward her. Who gets the girl? We shall see.

Lisa Washington is an award-winning author with a 2018 African American Literary Show Award for Best Christian Fiction Novel for her debut novel When You Least Expect It and a 2020 Author Elite Award for best Clean Romance for her third novel Love Lifted Me.

Washington is a U.S. Navy veteran originally from Detroit, MI. She is also a graduate of Wayne State University (MI), Averett University (VA) and Butler University (IN). She currently resides with her family in Georgia.

FUN FACT: Washington has a college degree from every state where she has lived.

This was definitely a solid and enjoyable read from debut author, Lisa Washington. My rating would fall between a 3.5 and 4, but I’m happy to rate it as a 4. After reading this, it is clear to me that Lisa has wonderful potential as a writer, and I hope she will continue writing good stories and honing her craft. Although the story was enjoyable, I felt the plot could have been flushed out to better move the story forward and to further develop the characters. There were some issues with the story timeline that impeded the flow of the story in my mind. I was happy to read that a story focusing on Monica and Ric because I felt most of the characters to be likeable and as a reader I wanted to know more about them. Kudos to Lisa for finishing her first novel. What an accomplishment!

I love this book, I can't wait until I read the next one. I didn't like what Sharyn did.I hope she realize the error of her ways and change.

Page Turner!

Lovely

When You Least Expect It preaches intense faith in God. It also preaches on patience and that we should Beverley to rush any process. It was an easy read with realistic characters.
