(The book illustrated here is a copy of the play. The book listed by ISBN number is a critical study of the play: not the play itself. I am reading the book called Coriolanus in the series Penguin Critical Studies. Whoever created the entry for this book got it mixed up with The New Penguin Shakespeare Coriolanus.)

This is a handy little summary of the rhetorical arc of the play, together with a scene-by-scene commentary. The final chapter outlines some of the political and social debates and upheavals that, the author argues, are addressed by Shakespeare, as seen through the prism of ancient Rome.
