My first paranormal true story book of sorts is done for the year of 2019 and I must say this one did not disappoint at all. It was a nice blend of hearing about ghost stories and history and I am a major history buff so I didn't mind all the historical stuff though I'm sure other may find it a bit more historical leaning than ghost leaning.

I'd still say they should give it a chance especially since their is a chapter about the occult stuff during the war and also a chapter on UFO sightings as well.

If you like your World War II history told with a haunting heap of paranormal phenomena and spun with some supernatural saga, then you should read Matt Swayne's latest installment in his "Haunted" book series—HAUNTED WORLD WAR II: Soldier Spirits, Ghost Planes & Strange Synchronicities.

Short spooky chapters replete with eerie imagery, combined with the author's frightful flare for spine-tingling storytelling, this riveting and entertaining book reveals the war's most mysterious yarns and chilling anecdotes that will linger with you well after you finish the final pages. From haunted battlefields and ghost planes to psychic warfare and wartime curses, Matt's latest title examines many of the frightening facts and ghastly ghostlore that World War II ever produced. Prepare to be surprised, stunned and shocked.

Book received from NetGalley.

I must admit that books like this are my guilty pleasure reading. I love to find new ones on "true" ghost stories. Most of the ones mentioned in this book were new to me, especially the ones in Europe and Asia. What I did like that one of my local museum's hauntings were mentioned. I've heard about the ghosts at what we call the Air Force Museum, The National Museum of the USAF, for years. It's always interesting to see it mentioned outside of local ghost guides. I've never seen anything there, but the stories are great to read. It's a great book to read this time of year and if you like this kind of books I highly recommend it.

This book was ok.

If you're a history buff, this is a book for you, as it's history with a few ghosts thrown in. But I found it a bit dry and repetitive.

It had some decent bits, and I learned more about WWII, so it gets 2 stars.

*I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book, provided by the publisher via NetGalley.*

Entertaining and we'll written

I enjoyed reading story after story in this book, despite the fact I am not a WWII "buff". Not your average ghost story book!

Makes me want to visit all the sites mentioned to test the Tupila theory! I couldn't put the book down and had it finished in a couple of hours.

This was full of interesting tales. The stories were divided well and the writing was well done. A large range of places was covered. There were many stories that were new to me. I would like to read more by this author.

*Thank you to Matthew L. Swayne, Llewellyn publishers, and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Absolutely loved this book. Very interesting stories about paranormal/ghost stories from the era of WW II. Anyone robbing a grave to get get artifacts deserves the problems some had during their expeditions. Readers who are interested in history and hauntings will not be disappointed with this book. I highly recommend it. I received this book from Net Galley and Llewellyn Books for a honest review and no compensation otherwise.

This book includes history with the stories of the supernatural. There are battleships, battlegrounds, planes, and people that are discussed. If you watch a lot of the ghost shows on tv you will be familiar with some of the locations but there are so many others that you have not hear of.
It is broken into sections to make the reading fast. If you like history with some weird connections included then this is a must for you.

Ghosts of WWII

I am interested in both world war II and the paranormal so this book ticked two boxes for me. I really enjoyed it and would whole-heartedly recommend to anyone who is considering reading it!
