This Christian romance novel of 85,000 words is the sixth book in The Callaghans & McFaddens series from USA Today bestselling author Kimberly Rae Jordan. A HANDFUL OF FLOWERS (ASIN: B01APAIXM6) is the prequel to this series.

All he’s wanted is a special woman to shower with love.

Mitch Callaghan had a great example of a wonderful relationship as he grew up. Watching his dad show his love for Emily, Mitch’s step-mom, through the years has made Mitch want to do the same for a special woman in his life. But instead, he’s watched as his brothers and sisters have found love while it has continued to elude him.

Her career might revolve around love and romance, but her personal life definitely doesn’t.

Belle Jacobs spent most of her growing up years watching her mom’s never-ending search for her prince charming. As an adult, she found out the hard way that flowery declarations of love and gifts of bouquets and candy didn’t mean the feelings were genuine. So while she’s busy running Belles and Beaus, the wedding planner/bridal clothing business her mom had started years ago, Belle has no plans to make use of the services for herself.

When Mitch accompanies Maya, his twin brother’s fiancée, to the meeting with the wedding planner, it’s under duress. He soon realizes, though, that what he’d seen as a favor for Gabe and Maya has become a life changing moment for him. But only him. Though Mitch has hoped for a love-at-first-sight type start to the most important relationship of his life, he’s also kind of assumed it would work that way for both of them.

Belle trusts very few people in her life, and she trusts emotions even less. So when a client’s brother seems interested in her, she tries to gently dissuade him while still keeping their business. Unfortunately, she has a situation in her life that he is perfect to help her out with.

Mitch never figured he’d have to battle for the love of his life, or that she would resist his attempts to romance her. Will the challenge scare Mitch away? Will Belle trust her heart once again? Or will she let fear of history repeating itself keep her from opening up?

Sweet Mitch finally gets his story

I just adore this blended family. Mitch has been waiting so long for love, and wouldn’t it just figure that the woman God has for him can’t even fathom a relationship? I love how she so beautifully wrote Belle’s walls being torn down, and Mitch was a perfect, gentle hero showing strength and care even after being shot down again and again. He was never portrayed as a beaten down wimpy man—no, Mitch exhibits strength, character, and love as biblically described in the way every damaged woman needs. And I’m just a little giddy that we get Ryan’s story next, and hopefully a little bit of a BlackThorpe Security crossover/visit!!

A Touch of Romance is the sixth book in the Callaghans & McFaddens series. It continues the story of this large, loud, and loving blended family that I have come to love so much. A Touch of Romance is Mitch Callaghan’s story. And what could be more touching, sweet and romantic than a young man finally finding the answer of his dreams to fall in love?

Mitch Callaghan has watched his brothers and sisters one by one find their perfect match, fall in love and, in some cases, tie the knot. If you had asked him years ago, he would have said that he would have been the first sibling down the isle. Yet lasting love has eluded him so far. When his twin brother asks him to step in for him at a wedding planning meeting, Mitch meets Belle Jacobs. Yet, Belle, after years of planning weddings and experiencing her own crushing relationship that has left her weary of men, has no desire for anything other than a friendship with Mitch. Mitch is sure Belle is the girl for him, but he knows that pushing her too hard might mean losing her forever.

I was eager to read Mitch’s story and it didn’t disappoint. Not only does this book mean a return to the growing McFadden and Callaghan family, but Mitch holds a certain vulnerability that was appealing. Mitch has long felt that others prefer Gabe, his more outgoing twin brother, over himself. And a string of relationships that have lead nowhere but heartbreak have him wondering if he will ever find his happy ending. Belle might not seem like the ideal match, given her reluctance for romance, yet Mitch offers her an unconditional support that Belle has never before experienced. The growing friendship between Belle and Mitch was very sweet, as was Mitch’s patience and understanding and Belle’s strength and resilience.

Set against the backdrop of wedding planning, you really couldn’t get a more romantic storyline. Combined with McFadden & Callaghan family get-togethers and the overall continuation of the family story, A Touch of Romance is a fun book in which to indulge and perfect for readers of inspirational romantic fiction. The seventh book in the series is next due for release and promises to ramp up the suspense with Ryan McFadden’s story.

Mitch and Maya’s story was sweet but I found it a little predictable and slow paced.

I liked Mitch he was sweet but Maya drove me mad which is not surprising as she reminded me of Makayla from book 2 (Change of heart) and she also got on my nerves.

As in the previous books to this series Kim focuses on a few topics. Mitch and Maya’s story explores:
▪️The struggle of waiting for right person to marry
▪️Getting back on a horse when you have been thrown off

I missed the family a little in this one as we didn’t see much of them :(.

I loved the end!

My favourite rankings for the series so far are:
1. Book 3
2. Book 0.5
3. Book 1, 2 & 4
4. Book 5

Recommended for all contemporary Christian fiction fans but I advise you start with book 0.5 as the series interlinks.

Really loved this book.
Too watch both of them work through their feelings and faith in God.
In the end when they came together it felt perfect.
It was good to watch them be friends first (even though they were dating) and get to know each other.
Belle realizes even though she knows she can do it on her own it's nice to have somebody help and worry about you also.
Can't wait for the next one in the series.

Good read

I had waited for this book for so long. I wanted to interact with the C's and M's but it seemed for a lot of the time that Mitch was standing alone and not a lot about their mum and dad, and other siblings. For me, it was a lot about family interactions, but not a lot took place. Otherwise, a good book to read even as a stand-alone

Great romantics

Wonderful story of waiting on God to provide you with your mate he has in store for us. Belle previous relationship shows that external looks and behaviour does not necessarily mean the right receipe fore relationship.

Mitch is God's right man with a godly attitude for her with patients, kind and supportive. Wonderful ending.

A Touch of Romance

Really great story of love and fulfillment between to people, Mitch and Belle. Belle and her sister ran a bridal boutique. Mitch worked for his dads company. Mitch and his brother Tristan, designed and renovated a building for the new bridal shop. Along the way, Mitch developed feelings for Belle. Much more to come. Must read

It was hard to believe that something would ever get to Belle.

(It was amusing that her mother named each of her daughters after a Disney princess). It was understandable why Belle wouldn't commit to a relationship-- Andre had pretty much ruined her for others. Thank God for his grace and Witch's patience.

Just a touch

I love the Callaghans and McFaddens! Such a lovely story of patience and trust...so often they are the forgotten pieces of a love story. I like how it tied in so many of the characters, too. Sacrificial love is beautiful thing.

A TOUCH OF ROMANCE

This was my least favorite book in the series, I did not like Belle at all-wanted someone else for Mitch. But she redeemed herself by the end of the book. Can't wait for Ryan's story.

Real love the second time.

When I’ve had a bad experience at something, I adamantly refuse to repeat it. However, God puts people in my life to help me to heal and then realize that the bad experience was not repeated. God can help us to heal and to heal again.

Better than the Fairy Tale!

Belle (named for the Beauty and the Beast’s Belle) and Mitch’s love story is even better than the fairy tale! A Touch of Romance is a beautiful addition to the Callaghans & McFaddens series.

A Touch of Romance

I've read some of this family's stories. As names came I remembered but in this story they haven't had their relationships yet. All the stories have been faith based and God-centered. Keep up the good work.

I love this family. The author makes each story unique and entertaining. I always hate when a book comes to the last sentence. It's hard to wait for the next book.

I always enjoy reading more about this huge blended family, and I enjoyed this book as well, although I thought Belle took an awfully long time wallowing in her past :-) Eventually there's good resolution. I'm glad there are more books coming.
