3.5 stars Some parts of this book was really thought provoking and well written but the rest of it was *really* cliched insta poetry, which was a downer.
This was a thought-provoking and quick read. I did notice a few grammatical errors, but nothing that really distracted from the point of the book. I was able to get through it in less than an hour, but the ideas scattered throughout the book stayed with me for the remainder of my day. A lot of the quotes centered around love and relationships, and I found myself relating to them more than I probably should. All in all, this was definitely a different style of book than what I usually read, but I am certainly glad that I gave it a shot.
Beautiful. I cannot think of another word to describe this incredible creation. I could not stop reading it. I purchased it 2 hours ago and I have read it 3 times.
One of the most captivating things I’ve read in awhile
Ms. Sanchez succinctly and accurately captures the human experience - mostly the female human experience, but her work is relevant to both. I felt a roller coaster of emotions. Her work is so relatable that in the first chapter I could visualize the moments I felt exactly what she described. This book is so normalizing and relatable it should be required reading for every woman age 16 and up.
I think I may actually like this more than the Lover's in Theory one? Not sure. Both are good. Simple and to the point. Def not gut wrenching poetry, so if youre looking for that this is not it.
Sanchez has curated a beautiful, honest and raw collection of poetry that talks through love and the human condition. Her work feels so very personal and real, almost as if we're peering into her private journal. Through incredibly relatable and thought-provoking pieces, she had me feeling every emotion as if I had experienced it myself.
I think it's just a very typical book that centres around love, heartbreak and sex. The book is split into three sections and I could only a quarter relate to the third section: of existence. Liked the book cover though.
I can not describe the way this type of writing makes me feel. I'm not at my best, but this book told me to keep my hopes up, because someday, maybe my wounds heal.
This was an amazing read, I have been able to read through it several times now and have loved it more every time. I truly feel this book has a new taste to it that readers and fans of poetry need to dive in to. It is not another poetry book about a break-up but what appears to be heartfelt poetry about all aspects of life. It is not a long read and can probably be done in about a day or two if you really take your time to read it and take meaning out of her writings. Enjoy!
