JFC talk about the ultimate trash combo: completely imbalanced power dynamics coupled with juvenile immaturity and ignorance. I’m not into some backwoods landowner’s entitled only son obsessing over an underprivileged servant’s kid who felt obligated to tolerate or even “appreciate” all the shits done to him just because his family “owed” the landowner their livelihood and all. Plain manipulation. This shoulda been the perfect backstory for a period drama in which the MC struggles with making sense of past betrayal and abuse inflicted upon him by someone he used to trust and look up to.
