Four dragons, one fate.

One soul shattered, four entwined.

Ariana believed she’d been lucky to find love once. No other man could compare to her mate, and his memory lived strong even after his tragic death.

Whitesong Security became her way of continuing his legacy, fighting for good causes.

Silent battles rage amongst the shifter elite over artifacts from the war that claimed Ariana’s mate. As more elite shifters make demands for Whitesong’s expertise, Ariana is forced to take a partner.

Ariana has three equally skilled applicants to choose from, but each one calls to her dragon and stirs emotions long forgotten.

It’s only a matter of time before they win her heart.

Dragon Shattered is the first book in a reverse harem trilogy featuring one strong female dragon shifter and the three hot-as-sin male dragon shifters who win a place in her company...and in her bed.

I think this is a case of it's not you, it's me. Dragon Shattered is fine. There's plot. Smut but not excessive smut. Decent technical writing skills.

Unfortunately, it's too skewed towards a contemporary romance for my tastes. I have no interest in business. Offices and contracts and security teams do nothing for me. I don't care about business suits or conference rooms or excessive wealth. I'm not impressed by companies scraping together funding for good causes, whilst paying their top employees $$$. I'd have more faith in their relative morality if they could be bothered to learn the janitor's name.

While there was a little exploration of dragonhood, it was insufficient to overcome the tedium of the business setting. The plot had potential for intrigue but was overshadowed by the trio obsessing over Ariana, as if they've never seen a woman before and acting as if menage is an every day thing.

And yet, for the right person, this freebie could be worth a go. It isn't bad per se, just not my style.

Hmm

Not much dragony or much backstory. Lots left unfinished/unanswered. The guys were different. The bad guy was a jerk. A bit of a mystery. Meh.

A SMOKING HOT, gripping ride that shows no signs of slowin' down!

I LOVE THIS STORY. This is one of the few books I've read, knowing it's part of a trilogy. I usually avoid them, but I just knew a book written by this awesome duo would be worth hanging on for!

And I was RIGHT!!!

The story begins with an incredibly heart-tugging event that had me wondering how the story would play out. I was given a big hint at the beginning, and once I caught on to where this arrangement was heading, I couldn't wait to see how it developed!

Each of the shifter suitors is totally different from the other, which pretty much guarantees that each winner can easily pick a favorite! They all bring different elements to the relationship, both platonic and otherwise, and balance each other out perfectly.

I also enjoyed the underlying mystery that slowly played out, and I'm VERY eager to see where that trail leads as the books go on!

Get ready, kids. This is a SMOKING HOT, gripping ride that shows no signs of slowin' down!

(I received this book in consideration of my honest thoughts)

This is the first book that I have read by Liza Street but I have read plenty of Keira Blackwood, so I knew I was going to like this book too. Bonus is that it is a RH, my favorite genre right now. I really enjoyed the fact that this was not a insta-love story line. Some may get upset that there is not a instant relationship between Airiana and the guys, but others may appreciate the fact that the relationships evolve naturally. I can not wait to see what is in store for the next book in the series and what Whitesong security has to go through next. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

When the talents of two remarkable authors are combined to bring us a trilogy like Shattered Souls you should expect something amazing. I’ve followed both Keira Blackwood and Liza Street for some time now. Both bring well defined stories, interesting characters and sizzling sexy moments to their readers through their various series. I’ll be frank and say that I hesitated before picking up Dragon Shattered. I am not a reverse harem fan. I’ll be quite honest about that, everyone has their own preferred tastes so there is nothing wrong with liking or not liking a particular style of story. I’m more of a one woman, one man type of reader. I’ve tried them in the past and liked them to a point, but not enough to read them regularly. Yet I know and trust the writing of Ms Blackwood and Ms Street – so I took the chance, and I’m very glad that I did.

Dragon Shattered will ignite your imagination from the very beginning. In fact, it’s the prologue to this story that gave me the first feeling of I’m going to be okay with this story. I’ll let you discover that moment for yourself. Ariana, Taylor, Slade, and Quentin make up an intriguing group. Each brings something unique and completely their own into the mix… yet together they are formidable.

As the beginning story in this trilogy, Dragon Shattered sets the stage with the start of threads that will be woven throughout this trilogy. This is a Happy For Now ending, not a cliffhanger, but you do know that there is more to come. I would not call those things loose ends, but anticipation for what comes next. There are clues scattered about that all is not what it appears on the surface, and again, I’ll let you find those for yourself. While there are definitely sensuous, sizzling moments, they are also loving, caring interactions as well. These individuals work as a unit, together they are stronger and somehow exactly right with each other. I’m looking forward to seeing how their relationships grow and develop over the rest of this trilogy.

In Dragon Shattered you will find strong characters that you’ll like as individuals, an intriguing plot, danger to be faced and those sizzling moments we all look forward to… and a satisfied sense of completion to one part while anticipating learning more of their story. An interesting concept, well played and one that will keep your attention throughout this story and beyond. I’d highly recommend this story and look forward to the next story in the Shattered Souls series by Keira Blackwood and Liza Street. Well done, ladies.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Dealing with the inexplicable

Dragon Shattered is billed as a reverse harem dragon fantasy romance. Author Keira Blackwood certainly knows how to write some very steamy, sexy scenes involving some delicious dragon shifters, and her tale of loss and second-chance romance times three is touching, tender, and hot. She even manages to make perfect sense of the heroine's attraction to not just one, but three brave, smart, and strong dragon shifters. (No more deets - no spoilers!) However, there's a lot happening in this book that doesn't involve the romance, and that's where things get muddled. Our heroine is a widowed dragon shifter who runs a security business/charity. It isn't clear which - business or philanthropy - is her focus, and since much of her attention is directed to her feelings for the three dragon shifters she's hired, it isn't too surprising that her company nearly goes down over a job gone wrong. The big whoop security job for the mega-bucks private auction by the spoiled brat client from hell goes south when a priceless shifter artifact is stolen using some weird futuristic tech. It's left to the three dragon-men to figure out the who, what, where and to catch the bad guys. If Ms. Blackwood wrote mystery as well as she writes romance, this would be a riveting and suspenseful book. Alas, the mystery plot is bedeviled by more loose ends than a dish of spaghetti, and never fully solved. The villains involved seem to pop up at random rather than connecting to the protagonists in any meaningful way. Why is the client such a prima donna? Who are the thieves and what is the point of the theft? Why is the dagger of such significance? Who is responsible for the high-tech device that makes the theft possible? What, if anything, does a rival security firm have to do with it? There's so much happening it can't all be coincidence, but there's no clear indication of conspiracy to tie it all together. In the end, too much of the book serves as a needless distraction from the budding polyamorous relationship of our four likable and sympathetic dragon shifters. Their story has an HFN ending, and there is a well-done set-up for a sequel. Perhaps the next book will tie up some of those pesky loose ends?
Although I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout, this is a voluntary and independent review. I rate it 3.5 stars.

~Review🖋~ Fun, quick read. Reverse harem with one strong female and three delicious albeit completely different males. It’s a bit of a slow burn in the beginning but picks up the pace toward the last half. I’m really intrigued with the soul-split portion of the storyline and am looking forward to seeing what the author does with it in the next book.

Ariana is a dragon shifter, 25 years ago she lost her mate Marc, in the Lotus War. She never thought her heart could care let alone love anyone else. She created Whitesong Security, it was Marc's dream, and they are one of the best. They do more than security they donate to good causes. With the business growing, and a new client that is demanding more security for the huge auction he just hired her for, Ari may finally need to hire a partner. When her assistant and friend Maisie, sets up three potential partners for interviews, is when things really start to heat up for Ari. When she finally meets each of the prospects, she feels an instant attraction to all three! How can this be?! Her heart has belonged to Marc all of these years still, yet there is no denying the pull these men have on her and her dragon. Add to the fact that they are all dragon shifters as well. How can she choose just one for the company and herself, when all three are a perfect fit.

Dragon Shattered was a very good surprise. I have been reading action packed, fast paced stories, which I favor. Having said that, I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Ari, and I truly felt her heartache over loosing Marc. You could feel it in the way she was 25 years later. Her whole life is making sure their dream came true. And she has done that, but she never enjoys life. She is all about work. What moments she gives herself are hanging around her friend and assistant Maisie, which by the way is awesome and a little devilish. So when three gorgeous dragon shifter men come into her life, it takes her completely by surprise to feel anything for them. The guys, Taylor, Quentin, and Slade feel the instant connection that she does. The guys interactions with each other are hilarious and won me over quickly. There is not one ounce of jealousy, just a compadre of kinship. As they each set out to win her over, they romance her slowly, let her lead in love and in the office. They all come together to make a perfect unit, and you can really feel that through the story. The ending does end with a bit of a 'Oh wait, could it be?' moment. Well done ladies, I cannot wait to find out what happens next, and if my hunch/hope is correct.

My first reverse harem and I'm enthralled! There is sadness and pain of course, there must be for healing to take place. Ariana is a strong woman and will persevere through her trials - but not without a measure of sorrow plus confusion over the three shifters who have become her partners in her security business. Slade, Quenton and Taylor present themselves as they vie for the partnership and ultimately, for Ariana's affection/love. In the midst of all this, they are hired to protect the relics of the Lotus War, a vicious war over turf et al. The war that cost Ariana her much loved mate, Marc. The auction for these bloody relics, a man named Pelletier, turns out to be another shifter, though not a dragon. He is the embodiment of the entitled, wealthy snob. Not caring for anything but his wealth, status and self serving life style. Ariana and "her" men, are fighting to what is right and good in a world that needs that so much ( not unlike reality today!). The big night arrives with security in place when the suddenness of an attack/theft leaves them all bewildered and angry. The thief, unknown to them, has the ability to disappear through walls, safes, elevators - you name it. Though Slade made an admirable attempt to stop the thief, he was unsuccessful adding to the frustration and anger all of them feel. Now they have to find a way to track the thief down. Who is he? How does he disappear like that? Why was the only thing taken, a dagger from the Lotus War? There is more here than meets the eye. During this time, Ariana finds herself hopelessly, helplessly, attracted to these hunky dragon sifters who are now her business partners while they in turn are instantly attracted to her. I don't give away spoilers, but this is a book you must read! It is so well written, with just the right amount of steam!! Not to mention mystery and "whodunit" to add to the excitement. I could not put this book down and found myself getting the two next in line the day I finished this one. Liza and Keira, you've turned me! Thank you so much!

Dragon Shattered: A Reverse Harem Romance (Spellbound Souls Book 1) Kindle Edition
by Keira Blackwood  (Author), Liza Street  (Author)
I received a complimentary copy via Alpha Obsession Book Club and am choosing to leave a fair and honest review.

Arianna found her mate, the love of her eternal life. But during the Lotus War, the last great war on the American Continent between shifters, she lost him. She was sure she would never love again.

In his memory, she created Whitesong Security, something to make the world a better place.

When the company and the clients all grow too large for her to handle she puts out a call to interview for a new partner. Three men, one of pure heart, one of great strength and one of prodigious mind, answer her call. She finds herself drawn to all three of them, the way she was drawn to her mate. But can she allow herself to find love again?

While she tries to sort out the romance portion, she and her three potential business partners are charged with the protection of an auction that specializes in war artifacts. When someone breaks in and takes off with an seemingly worthless artifact, they must track it down and return it in order to protect their reputation.

The romances is well handled and we understand how the three men came from one. There is action and nifty tech. My only complaint? The theft is never explained and the solution is kind of blown off. This is kind of a cheat! Why set it up as a big deal if you aren't going to give us the bad guy and the reason why? If the author intended to solve in future installments, there should be some kind of hint.

I did enjoy some of the side characters, they were fun and interesting.

3 ½ stars rounded down to 3 because I was frustrated with the resolution of the crime. I wanted to also know more about the war and how it came to be and how it ended. Since it played such an important role in the shattering of the dragon's soul and the whole theft, more information would have been nice. Also, I want the ugly but oh so comfy sofas!

SPOILERS!
I had a lot of difficulty getting into this book, sad to say.

The premise was interesting, and the author has some seriously fantastic descriptive skills. When she was setting the scene, I could see it in my mind’s eye so vividly. There are some books where they can come off as too descriptive, but it was really well done in this book.

My issue with the book comes from the relationship build between the characters, or to be more specific between Ariana and the men. You actually see a lot of interaction from the males POV and how they interact and develop their connections, but I felt that was lacking when it came to Ariana. For example, near the beginning the interactions between Ariana and Taylor are stilted as she tries to avoid her feels. But then out of no where a few pages later she’s running her hands over him, as seen from one of the other males perspective. It seemed as if there was a scene missing where the reader actually gets to see Ariana get more at ease with how she feels around Taylor. That’s just one example.

There was no build in the relationship. For me, that’s the most intriguing part and it’s the part where I typically start to feel for the characters but that didn’t happen for me with this book. It all just felt dry and stiff to me, and honestly I had difficulty finishing the book because I completely lost interest.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a great read. Ariana lost her mate 25 years ago in the Lotus War. It was Marc's desire to fight to keep those that couldn't fight for themselves safe. Ariana has been doing that through her company, Whitesong Security. She has taken on the client from hell, who is holding an auction of extremely rare items from the Lotus War. She decides it's finally time to hire a partner to help with the company. Her best friend and assistant, Maisie, is in charge of finding candidates. I loved Maisie, also. Her being Ariana's best friend, she arranges for three dragons to interview for the job. Sparks fly from the moment Ari meets Taylor, the first one. And they continue on through each of the others, Slade and Quentin. Each one is different and brings their own individuality into play. Taylor is my favorite with Slade running a close second. Something about Quentin just didn't strike my fancy, but it did Ari's. It will take all four of them to find the object that was stolen right in front of them. I loved the mystery and the unique way they each responded to the crisis. There is no jealousy between the men and they have a wonderful relationship with each other. Even accepting Slade's idea of a comfortable couch and Princess Needleclaw. I loved this book and will be looking forward to the next two. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This is a different kind of Reverse Harem and I like it! Oh, there are three guys. Three hot guys. Three really hot guys. One gorgeous, professional, lonely woman. Her mate was killed in a war years ago. She has lost herself in her business to honor him with the charities the security company supports. She finds herself overwhelmed and needs help with all of the decisions. The three hotties all interview for the position. Ariana is now overwhelmed with the desires she feels for--all three of them! She's not been drawn to a man in years now three at once?
Each man has so much to offer. I won't spoil the story for you to let you know how their relationships develop and what she had to do to make a decision. Enjoy reading that for yourself. I will tell you that the personality of each man is a winner. They offer, joy, companionship, support, and comfort. All are right for the position. I enjoyed this world the authors have created. The relationships were unique and fun to watch. While this is a series of three books I didn't feel angst at the end waiting for more. I do want to read the next books, however, this one was a fun read. I recommend it to all.
I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.

We start out the prologue meeting someonenamed Ariana. Who is she? Who is Marc? What is going on in their lives? Who is this Master Pelletier that Ariana has gone to see for business? What does she do? How did she start the company? When and why? Who is Taylor? What does Taylor do for a living? I like Maisie! Who is Slade? What does he do for a living? I really don't like Mr. Pelletier I have decided within the first three chapters of the book. When Quentin enters the picture as well, things definitely get interesting. What happens when you put three male dragon shifters in the same place? Who is Chip? Who is Maeve? Who is the mysterious sounding guy after an artifact piece of art that Ariana seems to have some vague recollection of? You need to read this book! So good! Nothing like what I expected, but the last chapter with Taylor helped me to confirm something I was thinking, and I'm sure I'll find it out to confirm for certain my thoughts in Dragon Unbroken. Enjoy the read!

I enjoyed this start to the reverse harem series and it was refreshing to read so much about feelings and emotions as opposed to lots of sex. I enjoyed the drama or the event, the participants and that there were a lot of shifter elites of various types. It was also nice to read that in life there are many different types of bad people just like there are for normal human life. Easy to read and understand it was very enjoyable. Contains a little sexual content.

Dragon Shattered by Keira Blackwood and Lisa Street is their first book in the Spellbound Souls series. It is a reverse harem dragon fantasy romance. Hard to believe this is their first book written together, the characters are amazing, the world they've built is fantastic. I can't wait to see where the series goes from here. Ariana is a beautiful woman and dragon. She lost her mate 25 years ago in a war. To honor his memory she runs a security firm and donates to charities. Once she decided to bring on a partner for the firm everything changes. Taylor, Sloan, and Quentin all interview for the partner position. Dragon Shattered is full of adventure, friendship, loyalty, betrayal, lust and love. There's something for everyone. This is the first book I've read by Liza Street but will not be the last. I've read all of Keira Blackwood other series and must say I'm just as impressed with this new series as I am with her other works. Great job ladies. I can't wait for book 2 to be released. I received an ARC from the author. This is my voluntary honest review.

Ariana has been without a mate for years
Arians has been without a mate since the death of her mate some twenty-five years before in a great shifter battle. She runs a security company and she has decided to once again try and discover a partner.
Unbelievably three dragon’s shifter all attractive, and with particular qualities and specific traits they have formed a bonded unit as such where each of the three are attracted to Ariana and would like to become her partner, her mate.
Then as the night of the auction comes around, they are soon Slade, Quintin and Taylor find themselves and their lives irrevocably changed.
I voluntarily received and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

This is definitely more than what I expected and the ending leaves you pining to dive into the next book.

Strong characters, bit of magic, shifters and romance leads to a strong combination of I couldn't put it down why did I stay up so late?

Ari has her fated mate, and other half of her soul ripped away in bloody war. Since then she has been a lone dragon but after 25 year she's become a successful business woman that runs her security firm helping others and funding charities. Now a large event leads to her to finally needing to choose a partner to help run things. Heart, Brains and Brawn is needed and boy does she find all 3.

Can her glacial outer persona finally meet her match and rekindle her inner flame? Defiantly worth reading!

A wonderful new dragon shifters novel

These two Author's have a natural ability to keep the reader's glued to both the storyline and the characters involved.
I love the fact that this is going to be a series with far more depth imagination and content than is often found in other paranormal romance novels.
With plenty of action, smart investigation and characters who are as real as could be, I was completely enthralled by the development and creative style found within this book.
With the three main partner's and Ariana all finding a special connection to each other can this investigative company survive what seems to be brewing beneath the surface of this thrilling relationship.
I definitely cannot wait to get the next book in this series, wanting to find where this mysterious encounter leads.
Great read for anyone who enjoys reading paranormal romance.

Has potential

The world is interesting. The overarching story makes me curious. There are tantalising questions that will be addressed in future books.
But.
Ariana doesn't act like a successful CEO. their security measures are laughable - with so many people of their own at a site, there is headset communication just between the four of them? The partners seem to spend most of their time lusting after Ariana or playing video games. And the downside of having 4 povs is a slowing of the story, with quite a lot of repetition. I would also have liked to know a bit more about the shifter world.

I will read the next book only if it is on sale. I hope it will get better now we know the characters and background.

First part of a series but no cliffhanger. 4 3rd person pov. Very mild violence. Steamy.

I devoured this story in not even 8 hours and need the next book ASAP! this is my first book by Keira Blackwood but she is now permanently on my radar. her writing style flowed incredibly well. The story grabs you and pulls you in to the point you dont want to let go. You get to learn more about each character and see different aspect through each characters eyes. The one thing i would love more of, is Slade's pov. You can feel the love these men share for Ariana and her defenses breaking down for them. Please hurry with the next in the series i need to know what happens next. By the way, I received a complimentary ARC, but chose to read and review it of my own free will and am so glad i did.

Ariana is a dragon shifter losing her mate in a tragic accident which made her believe that you could only love once in a lifetime but she had lost that with her mate. Ariana opens Whitesong security as a memorial to her lost mate and for her to do good in his name. 3 Dragon shifters apply for a job at the security company Slade, Taylor and Quentin all 3 with very different attributes. Ariana is attracted to all 3 dragons but she fights it, all 3 are attracted to her as well and they have to overcome that they all want her. Fantastic read great storyline well written and I loved the characters. My heart went out to Ariana for losing her mate but the 3 other guys showed her how to love again. I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

2.5 stars. I understood the premise for this book but I ended up feeling dissatisfied. This does not have my HEA I want at the end. Though I liked the descriptive writing I didn’t feel any real connection between Ariana and the men. I also couldn’t understand Ariana being with them individually and not all together. I thought this was a ménage romance.
The business side of the story was hit and miss as there is no explanation of why something is happening.
Skimmed through the end as I got bored with the lack of relationship building. The three men seemed to be more in tune with each other but all acted like dogs with a scent anytime Ariana was in the scene.
Won’t be reading the next book, too slow for me.

First let me state, I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review. Also, this is my first time with these authors, and hopefully it won't be my last.

Holy shiznet!!! This story was gr8. I cried at the prologue. Ariana is strong woman. To lose her mate should have killed her, but she carried on. Her BFF, Maisie, is awesome. She's a perfect friend and assistant for Ari. Taylor, Slide, & Quentin are all perfect for her. I love how they all get along & take care of Ari. I had a strong feeling about the end, (not telling because I don't want to spoil the story, I want you to read it), and I was right. I'm looking forward to book 2. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up.

Being the first book in the series I am going to take it that some of the loose ends from the book will be carried over and hopefully resolved. I really loved how everything was so descriptive, you really got to know most the characters well apart from well Ariana you got the gist of how she feels torn about wanting all the guys and still thinking of her past and if she is ready to move on, but you don't get to really see her build the connection with the guys like they do between each other. I look forward to reading the next book in the series and getting to know Ariana more along with how her relationship with the guys develop.

Ariana, Dragon shifter, head of Whitesong Security is looking for a new partner.

Ariana, Dragon shifter, head of Whitesong Security is looking for a new partner. She brought in three men Tayler, Slade, and Quentin, all have experience brains, and strength. And all are dragon shifters which she didn’t know until the interviews. Good story good read lots of twists. Yes I would recommend.
Saying that I didn’t give it a five because I had to go back to check to see if this was a betta read because it has a few glaring problems with keeping track of which male she is with at what time. Don’t stay consistent with front story or with who she is supposed to be with at end. Still good story and good writing just needs a little more bettas before publishing.

The first book in this new series. Ariana lost the love of her life and started a security agency Whitesong to occupy her time and to help people. The demands for Whitesong security has become to demanding that Ariana needs to look for help. Enter three dragons Slade, Tyler and Quentin, they all fit the requirements and all three make her dragon sit up and take notice and theirs as well. Plus the mysteries that keep popping up, what is behind it all? Will the four be bonded and have an HEA? Well, get your copy and find out. Enjoy, Idid!
