In the primitive wilds of the South Louisiana swamps, the hot-blooded Cajun Cherchat brothers take lost photographer Sahara Jensen captive, thinking to use her soft, warm flesh for their--and her--sexual pleasure. But when one of them unwittingly falls in love with the woman, who then is the captor, and who is really the prisoner...?
Fun. Steamy. Sexy. Sweet. These were all words that popped into my head when thinking about this quick-paced little romance. Although it's small in size (162 pages), it packs a big punch, and has the most delightfully roguish hero (Jacque Cherchat) that I've read about in a long, long time. Parts of this book are so hot they'll make you squirm and blush; other parts are silly and incomprehensible but still make for some fun reading!
The book starts off with a bang with the heroine, freelance photographer Sahara Jensen on the lookout in the Louisiana swamps for a rare orchid (with a suggestive name) to photograph for National Geographic. If they (NG) like the pics maybe they will hire her for future assignments and then her career will really take off. After her very humble beginnings in a California desert town, Sarah sure would like to strike it rich and have all the material things (and respect) that money can buy. But while looking for the orchid, she discovers she's hopelessly lost in the swamps with all kinds of creepy things floating in the water just ready to take a bite out of her...and then she spots a couple of dangerous but hunky looking men, heading her way in a boat...Maybe they'll help her--or are they here to ravish her?
My, my...Jacque and his brother Quint...oh jeez, no spoilers here, but what they do with Sahara...what's the Cajun French word for hot? I don't want to mislead anyone into thinking this is some kind of menage relationship, because there's just this one incident and it's not exactly a complete threesome, but it ceratainly sets a steamy tone for the whole book. The story is really about long-haired, sexy and buff Jacque, who has trouble finding a woman who wants him for himself, and not for his money, and his relationship with the beautiful blonde and spunky Sahara, who thinks she knows what she wants out of life...but then is thrown a huge curveball when she meets the delicious Jacque.
There's tons of heat in this book, and plenty of melt-the-pages sex scenes, as Jacque keeps Sahara as his (mostly) willing captive at his bayou shack, but a lot of it is told off the pages and after the fact--you need to use your imagination. But Ms. Black has a way of writing that you'll have no trouble imagining just what is going on between Jacque and Sahara.:)
I loved the characters in this book. Jacque was a devilishly sexy alpha character with a vulnerable side, and although I didn't agree with some of the methods he used to "test" Sahara's feelings for him, he charmed me so much that I was ready to slap Sahara if she didn't give him everything that he desired! I liked Sahara too--she was spunky and bold, loving and caring, and although I wanted her to give in to everything Jacque wanted, I also could see her point of view. I'm so glad that this couple was able to work everything out--I especially loved the payoff at the end when Jacque revealed his feelings for her. Very romantic and had me smiling.
If you like your romances fast-paced, white-hot,a bit playful, with plenty of sexy Cajun-French phrases tossed about, and a couple of smokin' hot leads that can get you all hot and bothered and also make you laugh---then you'll love this book! Ms. Black also writes mainstream romances as Nina Bruhns--if this is an example of what she can do, I can't wait to get started on those books! 4 1/2 stars
Sahara Jensen grew up dirt poor. She is given an assignement that could further her career and make her rich. She travels into the Louisiana swamp to take pictures of a rare orchid. After getting lost she is rescued by Jacque and Quint Cherchate. They convince her to accompany them to a small shack in the swamp. After plying her with wine they seduce her. While Sahara finds Jacque irresistable she does not want to live the way he does. The shack with no electricity reminds her too much of where she came from. Jacque is actually very rich but does not advertise it. He wants a women to want him for who he is. When Sahara tries to leave he holds her captive. This is one smoking hot story. There was steam coming of the pages.
Sahara gets lost in the bayou trying to get pictures of a rare orchid. She is found by brothers Jacque and Quint and taken back to Jacque's small bayou home. Sahara and Jacque fall into instant lust, but can there be more?
After growing up in extreme poverty, Sahara is determined to become rich as an adult. Jacque has made millions but hides that fact from Sahara. He is looking for a woman who will love him enough that she would be willing to live in the bayou with him.
This one was a bit of a train wreck...I didn't like what I was reading but I couldn't put it down. When Jacque and Quint get Sahara home after rescuing her, a bit of a threesome happens. 'A bit?' you ask. Yeah, I'm going to go with 'a bit.' See, Quint's wife storms in and puts a stop to things before the three can take the... final plunge. But enough has already happened to make me feel squicky about it all. Sahara never knew that Quint was married, but sleazy Jacque - and obviously Quint - knew.
Missing the only bus leaving for days, Sahara agrees to stay with Jacque. A strange half naked, bayou style shotgun wedding later, and Sahara seems to be well and truly stuck with Jacque. Still wanting to leave, each escape attempt is thwarted by the bayou folk loyal to Jacque, who finally chains her to his bed. And between all of the attempts, what is poor little Sahara to do? Why enjoy all the hot sex that Jacque can provide, of course.
This story has a reputation of being very hot with a very appealing hero, and deservedly so. But I found myself wishing there was more depth to the characters/plot/conflict.
Because of this lack, I didn’t care much what happened –in or out of the bed with these two—and found myself a little less accepting of some of the more outrageous plot developments (and what felt like inconsistencies re the heroine’s personality) as the story progressed.
There was A Lot of introspection. A. Lot. Given the limited word count and plot set up, I guess that was the way to go to fill in backstory, motivation and character moments of self-discovery. It’s expedient shorthand. But it lacks the veracity/impact of an emotionally hard-hitting written out scene.
Ultimately, in the end, I just didn’t believe the H/h were in love despite what scenes or dialogue exchanges that were written as proof. So, very sexy hero, scorching hot/inventive love scenes, likeable heroine, but this only turned out to be a fairly enjoyable, mostly skim-read for me. Great light/fun/quick hot read if that's what you're looking for.
Cajun Hot was a very hot sexy read. Cajun Hot began as a menage, but quickly changed into a M/F story. My problem with Cajun Hot was with some of the outlandish storyline: forced voodoo inspired weddings, a Cajun millionare living in the Louisiana swamps – determined to find a lover who will be willing to sacrifice EVERYTHING, including a very promising career with National Geographic, to be with him. Of course, she must pass his test and give up everything while believing he’s poor, with no assets, living in the swamps----because this is the ONLY way he can know she’s not after his $$ and truly loves him *eye roll*. I’m all for sacrifices for love, but with limits, and he was too demanding for me. The book was still smokin’ though ;) It’s a short, quick read at about 150 pages -glad I read it, no regrets.

Cajun Hot by Nikita Black was a hot mess. Thankfully I had no expectations going into this book so my level of disappointment was minimal. I purchased Cajun Hot as a freebie in 2012. Now I didn’t read the blurb beforehand as I was ecstatic to discover the perk of acquiring books for free. At the time nothing else mattered a apart from the fact that it was advertised as full length contemporary romance.
The story started out on a good note. However, after around twenty percent of reading it all started to go downhill. The heroine, Sahara took a trip to the Bayou to take pictures of a rare orchid to increase her chances of a feature in National Geographic. While on her mission she got lost, and two brothers, Jacque and Quint, came to her rescue. However, their reasons for the rescue was not quite altruistic.
Now most of the things which occurred in this story is not for everyone. I certainly was not a fan. Cheating, held against one’s will, a weak female, the hero’s crazy family with their insane beliefs, a lack luster romance and extra steamy sex scenes drove the story. I kept reading hoping the heroine would gain some sense and not allow her carnal desires to control her. Also some of the questionable things done to the heroine by the hero and his family failed to amuse me. I found nothing about this story believable.
She was looking for an orchid, but found a man who'd change her life forever...
On assignment, Sarah is deep in the swamp, looking to photograph an illusive orchid. Unfortunately, someone removed all her well placed markers and instead of finding her way back, she finds the gorgeous Cherchat brothers. Or rather, they find her. When they offer to lead her out of the swamp, her only choice is to go with the two dark strangers, or spend the night with alligators and snakes. She chooses the men. Jacque and Quint Cherchat aren't innocent by anyone's definition. Handsome as sin, with the devil's own imagination, they embody every woman's secret fantasies and they know it. Having a lone, stranded, female all to themselves is too good to pass up. With infinite skill and determination, not to mention delicious food, the two set out to seduce her.... But not one of the three could imagine the outcome of this night of forbidden erotic pleasures. Jacque finds himself hopelessly drawn to the shy Sarah and decides to keep her, with the help of an old Cajun tradition. Naturally, Sarah has a slightly different view on this subject. She dreams of a large house and luxury, not of a cabin somewhere at the back of beyond, in the middle of the swamp. No matter who lives there, or how incredible the sex they share. Despite his magnetic appeal and her runaway emotions, escaping Jacque becomes Sarah's first priority. But Wild Jacque has an ace up his sleeve, and a dark secret he isn't willing to share... even if it means losing the woman he's fallen in love with.
Jacque and Sahara moved pretty fast! Parts of the story were very far-fetched. A short quick read with lots of steamy sex. Jacque is very devilish and I did like that about him(although I didn't picture him with a mustache as described). Sahara was strong and new what she wanted and when she made her mind up that is how it was going to be. Whether it be her career or Jacque, she took what she wanted, no messing around.
This had hot sex but it was too full of wtfery for me, from the crazy and insane family the hero belongs to. His squicky brother and the TSTL heroine. I wasn't keen on the hero and the romance wasn't believable and I especially didn't think a forced shotgun wedding and stripping the heroine in front of his family was appealing or funny. It was just a mess although the wtfery elements was entertaining in a way until, the hero went into full alphahole mode when he chained the heroine up to his bed.
This full-length erotic novel is not for the reader who likes her romance sweet. It depicts politically incorrect situations and fantasies; i.e., it's demeaning to women, and designed for the woman who isn't afraid to explore the edgy side of human relationships and sexuality. Plot Ok, sensuality High
Wanted to love it....sex was hot...but some parts of it were so crazy, stupid, I don't know how to describe it...but the part that turned me off the book was the outsider who tempted a bayou boy, having to stand naked in front of the crowd at the bar. Plus it leads you to believe there is menage action...NOT!

Sahara gets lost in the bayou and is found by Jacque and Quint. They take her to their home and start getting cozy before being broken up by Quint's wife, Lisette. Jacques continues. He wants her and is starting to feel something, but he won't call it love. Sahara was sent to the bayou to get photos of rare orchids. She shares her dreams with Jacque about a photography career, money, and a big fancy house but she does not share her childhood which makes her want those things. Jacque gets mad as he is looking for a woman who loves him, not his alter ego, Jack Kershaw, CEO of Cajun Hot. Sahara keeps trying to escape but is brought back each time. Jacque is trying to break her down to admit she loves him. When that happens, he decides to let her go. She then learns the truth about him. Will she go? Will she stay? Do they both love each other?
I enjoyed this story. It was fun. It was outrageous. It was hot! I liked Jacque. He did everything he could to see if she would pass his test. He never thought she would have a test. He's shocked that he was outmaneuvered. Sahara is strong. She is going to make him earn his way back to her. When he does, she gets him back. It was so fun to watch!
I thought this was a free short read, but it's not, it's kinda lengthy. I labeled it funny/humorous because there were a couple of scenes that I thought were hilarious. This is the story of a photographer Sahara Jensen, who gets lost in the Cajun swamp. Two very handsome brothers rescue her, and unbeknownst to her, one of them is a a rich entrepreneur. Jacques, has not married because he is looking for someone to love him, and not his bank account. She grew up poor and is determine to have money, which he misinterprets as her being a gold digger, although he still wants her sexually. This seems all formulated, however, Jacques Grand mere, who has performed several "shotgun" weddings in the area for the parishes residence who have had their "virtue" taken by strangers encroaching on their territory, takes matters into her own hands. Despite the fact the most of these folks are far from virtuous, her grandson included, she makes them get married. She does the same for Sahara and Jacques, accusing Sahara of taken her grandson's virtue. What I found funny, is that the whole parish is in on it, sheriff and priest including. Even when she escapes him, the sheriff convinces her rescuers that she is just delusional and brings her back. There are several funny moments, however, the last scene was somewhat unrealistic to me, although my husband says he felt it was believable (he kept asking me why was I laughing so he pretty much read along with me). In all, an enjoyable book that I was able to read in a couple of hours. I would lend this to a friend. TTFN-Sandy
Well, this just wasn't for me. I could read a piece of erotica with some of these elements a little more objectively if the characters were painted differently, but I just couldn't see this heroine really falling in love with this guy the way her personality was presented. Just inconsistent...and underdeveloped. The "love" that developed seemed contrived. If two people are going to fall in love, I'm not seeing some of this...another reviewer called it WTFery, which is perfect...but hey, if it is your cup of tea, I'm not judging. If your secret fantasy involves exhibitionism, violence, raping someone or getting raped, then you might enjoy this, because a lot of what happens is colored with these themes. Yuck for me. Plus, the hero has a mustache. Not a good visual for me, either. The first love scene that included Quint turned me off from the beginning. I could not imagine falling in love with a guy who brings his married brother in on a threesome with me. But, unfortunately for me, I could not look away from this train wreck. I will say the Cajun dialogue was pretty authentic, though, for one positive note.
This was a hot short story that was easy to read and reaffirmed my high regard for Ms. Black's writing. I loved the dialect, a mixture of English, French and all Cajun chère! My high school French really came in handy with this book;)
This was the story of Jacque and Sahara though at the very beginning there was a smidgen of M/F/M with Quint that turned into ‘sceneis interruptus’ HA!
My only complaint was that Jacque’s moustache was described so much in this story but the cover was sans moustache…
Sahara a photographer gets lost/stuck in the swamp while looking to get a picture of a 'Orchidus clitorius'. Seriously that’s the name of the orchid. She comes across two hunka hunka brothers Jacque and Quint and then as they say 'Laissez les bons temps rouler' and roll they did.
Jacque...“Steel hard and big enough to give any woman goosebumps, his equipment was formidable. But it was what he did with it that slayed her.”
Favorite line… "Mais yeah, chère. You want it with or without chains?"
Wow! That was pretty hot. I've always been attracted to anything cajun, whether it be the men, the food, the accent or whatever. I've never visited Louisiana and it's on my list of places to visit for sure, especially after reading this story. I want a Cajun man of my own!
The romantic story itself was quite ordinary but the setting and the characters made the book that much special. Jacque, of course, had me melting quite a few times and this was definitively not a book to be read in public.
I did notices a few discrepancies, for example the fact that Sahara uses a pregnancy test, after just a couple of days. Doesn't work like that. You should wait a few weeks after the fact before taking a pregnancy test (to make sure it doesn't come out negative when you really are pregnant). I also noticed a few French grammar errors. Since French is my first language, I couldn't ignore those mistakes.
Overall, this is definitively a story that I would read again. I'll be on the lookout for more books my Nikita Black. I think I just found a new favorite romance/erotica author!
Sahara is in the Lousiana bayou to photograph an orchid for National Geographic and obtain her break into the big leauges of her profession. The Cherchat learn of a sexy outsider most probably lost in the swamp and set out to 'rescue' her. AKA-kidnapping/seducing. Once home Sahara does fall to their charms, but Jacque takes a special interest and doesn't really want to share. Amazing sex compells Jacque to hold on to her at first, but this leads to his acknowlegement that they have true chemistry. He has to know if she can love him as a poor cajun before revealing to her that he is the stinkin rich creator of a cajun spice/seasoning line of products.
There was a very brief m/f/m scene.. I think it cut short before the three deed actually got going. Outside of that- Cajun Jacque is a horndog and the two go at it wild and crazy. Bring along an ice beverage. It is a really hot read.
For the most part, I like this book. I was the littlest, tiniest bit squicked out by the whole "strip the interloper naked in front of everyone" thing, though. And by "littlest, tiniest bit", I mean that I almost stopped reading the book. It was one of those things that was almost a deal breaker for me. However, I persevered and ended up enjoying what came after.
Now, the sex is nicely dirty. Lots of hot lovin' on the bayou and all that jazz. Jacque gives it to Sahara and then he gives it to her again. And again. And again. I wasn't real keen on all the secrets that were bouncing around but I understand where Jacque was coming from for the most part.
Fun, definitely sexy, I just wasn't real keen on the nudity thing. However, since Sahara got into the spirit of it, I guess I can't really complain too much. *thumbs up*
Thank you Ms Black for this Cajun Hot treat! Jacques is pushy, charming, inventive, hot, dirty-talking, stubborn, domineering, well-endowed...need I go on? Oh, and he is rich, smart and single. Sierra is a freelance photographer working on an assignment for National Geographic to try and get listed as one of their go-to photogs. Jacques sees her in the swamp and decides to kidnap her for some fun and games. Hotness ensues.
Jacques is looking for the right woman, one who wants him for himself, not for his wealth or fame. Sierra isn't looking for a man to give her dreams to her, but she won't let a man stop her from achieving them herself. What happens when two people at cross purposes start to fall for each other? Besides action so hot it might overheat your kindle, a story that it might surprise you.
As another reviewer commented, this story is more erotica than story. No villains slink around the swamps in this book, and the plot contains no scary or thrill-inducing elements. However, the characters are fairly well-developed and interesting, and they show some development over time. Both hero and heroine learn a thing or two over the span of the book. Best of all, the sex scenes are exciting and different; no boring moves here. I did not have the sense that this book was "churned out," on the contrary, it seemed like some thought went into the book. The emotional intensity is fairly high. In the 138 pages of my Nook, I did not come across any typos or glaring grammatical errors in this ebook.
Sahara Jensen is a photographer hoping that this assignment will lead to bigger things. Sahara ends up losing her way in the swamps near New Orleans where she meets Jacque Cherchat and his brother. Jacque and Quint see Sahara as sexy and want to have their way with her. Jacque has all but given up on love until Sahara yet he finds that he may have given up too soon. Sahara can't deny that there is something to her feelings for Jacque yet wary of what it would all mean. Sahara finally believes in love but when she discovers that Jacque lied about who is. She runs as far and fast as possible. Can Jacque explain his reasons for lying? Will Sahara forgive Jacque? Your answers await you in Cajun Hot.
Sahara Jensen is in South Louisiana hoping to capture a picture of a rare orchid to help catapult her career. When she finds herself lost in the swamps, she ends up turning to two rescuers the Cajun Cherchat Brothers.
Jacque Cherchat knows by the end of the night, the woman in front of him will be his and if his brother wants part of the fun, he has no plans to stop him. Kidnapping her to show her how hot the Cajun brothers can be, Jacque doesn't plan to fall in love as part of the plan though.
This was a bit out of my comfort zone, they kidnap her and she agrees to seduction but there were a few things that I couldn't get past in this story.
Cajun Hot is just that; CAJUN HOT!!!! When a photographer finds herself in trouble on the bayou; she wonders if she is better left on her own when two sexy cajuns offer her help. But needing rescued won out. Now Sahara Jensen is depending on brothers Jacque and Quint Cherchat to get her out. What Sahara does not know is; they are more than willing to help, but not in any hurry.
You want it hot, spicy and loaded with adventure this is the book for you. I loved this book; and it has a few twist and turns to keep you guessing; while the dialog entertains. HOT HOT HOT.
Sahara is in the bayou trying to get pictures of a hard to find orchids when jacque and his brother quint come across her and her slowly sinking boat as she tries to find her way back to land. They take her home to supposedly help her clean up and then back to her bus but actually have their own plans to seduce her. Little does she know that things go way beyond seduction but to old community practices that will change her life and a secret jacque is keeping that he thinks will lead him to an honest woman.
3.5 stars actually - liked the books premise, it had a simple plot, OK characters, and no shortage of hot sex and a bit of kink. The negative for me was, I didn't like the forced Cajun accent used in the writing and the french phrases(which i didn't know the meaning of) instead of finding this cute, sexy or true to character, it was more distracting for me, because it didn't seem to flow well. Supporting characters came and went, with the main focus of the story on Sahara and Jacques. The book ends with the expected HEA. All in all an enjoyable read
