WE GOT AWAY FROM HIM ONCE. THIS TIME, WE WON’T BE SO LUCKY. Because my baby’s father is back to claim what’s his: Us.
Five years in prison is enough to change anybody. And Kane has certainly changed. He’s darker than he was before. Bigger. Scarier.
But the hunger that drove him to take me in the first place… that hasn’t changed one bit.
He took the fall for me when I needed it. But now that he’s returned, he wants to take back everything he once owned.
That includes me.
And once he finds out about our baby… He’s going to drag me to the altar so I can never escape again.
The sickest part of it all is… That I’m helpless to say no.
Secret Baby at the Altar is book 1 of the Blood Brothers MC trilogy. Books 2 and 3, Secret Wife at the Altar and Secret Biker at the Altar are available everywhere now!
I read this book because I got it free at the Apple book store, expected something like possessive alpha male but respectful. But this book went for horrible to horrible to down right awful. I’m sorry, she gets raped And Kane just believes what the rapists says and kinda forgives him and what’s with the whole untrue bullshit. She was untrue against her will and Kane was ready to shove her aside even though claiming he loved her and do anything for her and would never force her but when she FINALLY realized they were a mistake he kissed/forced her and she forgave him. Not to mention the fact that she literally groveled and begged for Kane to listen to her when she had to explain her most traumatic experience ever. He believed her, sweet, went to beat up the man and forgave him afterward because the club is family to him. I actually prayed that the author would see some sense when she found out she was pregnant with her rapists baby, maybe remove it. But nooo ofcourse she immediately started loving it and Kane wanted to keep the baby too because it was THEIRS. All her trauma shoved aside because he wanted to stay with his “family” but oh yeah he would protect her from her rapist because yeah they were in the same club but “I’ll protect you from him” and all was fine. I hope no one will ever come across this book and think this relationship is loving, it’s toxic, Abusive and Angeline deserved more then some guy that chooses himself over the woman he claims to love. If I could I would have given this book -1 stars I would’ve. I’ve never been so angry about a book before but this book just hits all the wrong nerves
The main reason I read this book is because I got it for free on Google Play, and it had somehow found its way to my 'currently reading' shelf, and the only way to get it off was to either delete it, or read it, so I read it.
The basic gist of this was that Kane had gone to prison for 5 years for selling drugs, which he'd only been doing because he didn't want his girlfriend selling them on the street, when she needed money to care for her ill father. Anyway, two months before he's released, his 'brother' - another member of the motorcycle club he's in, goes to Kane's girlfriend When Kane is then released, this same 'brother' tells him that his girlfriend has moved on, and that he shouldn't have anything to do with her. So, Kane and his girlfriend do see each other, and the stories that the 'brother' has told both of them come out, and Kane gets rather angry (as expected). Then Kane's girlfriend discovers that
And that was pretty much where it ended, and I have zero desire to purchased and read the next book in the series, as this one really didn't hold my attention well at all. It is now off my currently reading shelf though! Yay!
The plot described in any of the media of this book is incorrect. Plot summary is boy loves girl, girl gets in trouble with the law and he steps in so she doesn't have to go to jail, he gets five years for possession with intent to sell(wouldn't get that much time for that irl) his asshole gang replacement father tells girl boys dead in jail, she is unable to say anything for grief and he rapes her so bad he leaves bruises on her thighs, boy gets out of jail and is told girl slept with replacement father, instead of being an adult he doesn't go to the girl and simply ask and then believe what she told him or investigating any further, they go through a cat and mouse game for a couple pages, he finally understands she was raped goes to the replacement father and gets in a fight with him, he finds he can't win and tells her and himself to simply move on with there lives while he still hangs out with the gang and the guy who raped the love of his life, but oh no she's pregnant?! LOOKS LIKE YOU CAN'T MOVE ON FROM RAPE SO EASILY HUH? End of book.

I never quite know what to say in a review without giving away spoilers, so all I’m going to say is this is a great read. Like all of Claire St. Rose’s books this one is just as great! So far I haven’t come across one that isn’t. So if you haven’t read any of her work then I say you better start reading because there’s no harm in trying. I can definitely guarantee you will not be disappointed in your choice.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book for my honest opinion.
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review. I normally like this author’s work but I could not get into this book at all. One reason, I think, is because it was really dark, which is so out of character for Claire St Rose. I felt the writing was disjointed and nothing like I’m used to with this author.
Awesome book. Very entertaining, captivating, and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong characters. I want to read more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Not quite what I expected but a good read nonetheless. Angeline and Kane are separated when he takes the fall for her loving error in judgement. A snake in the wings takes advantage and sets out to ruin their HEA. Their love will be tested.
Angeline, a nurse, meets Kane when he injures his hand and goes to the ER where she is working. The book was a bit on the darker side, but it was still a good read.
There was way too much back and forth between the past and the present, it was very confusing and had me skimming a lot of this book. Thankfully it was a short read.
