Two Omegas. One kiss. And an Alpha who wasn’t supposed to see it happen…
Nathan I’m supposed to be an author, but I haven’t finished a book in years. Not since things got out of control. So, to hopefully get back on my feet, I move to a new city, start teaching at college and suddenly find myself intrigued by two Omegas that pass me by every morning. One day, on a whim, I follow them and see something I shouldn’t have seen. A kiss. A beautiful kiss. And it stirs something inside me...
Zeke I fled from the arranged marriage my parents set up for me and I was ready to give up on love entirely, and then my best friend saved his younger Omega brother, Wes, from a bad situation and suddenly I was falling, head over heels. It’s amazing to be at Wes’ side and to see him flourish, even if our relationship is a little complicated, we’re making it work. Maybe love isn’t so bad after all. What I hadn’t counted on was the Alpha walking into the cafe, and the way my eyes keep getting drawn to him...
Wes After my brother saved me from my abusive ex, I’m getting my feet back under me. I’m finally doing the things I was never able to do, like having a job and going to college. It’s not easy to combine it with caring for my four children. But with my Omega boyfriend Zeke and my brother’s family at my side, we make it work, they’re all the people I’ll ever need. Until, one morning, an Alpha walks into the cafe that I work at, and he asks Zeke and me out on a date, together...
This is the first novella about Alpha Nathan and Omegas Zeke and Wes in Omegas’ Destined Alpha, which takes place in a non-shifter Omegaverse world and contains mpreg (male-pregnancy).
Talk about cliff hangers, we didn't even get to that part! This book just friggin ended in the middle with a note: to be continued. WTF seriously?!?!??!!
Although this is the first in a serial-type release (so keep in mind, folks, this is not a complete story. Last series was 10 parts, the one before that was 8, so I'd expect somewhere around there for total number of stories), it's also a spin-off/continuation of her last series, Making of a Family. We first met Wes and Zeke in that series, 2 omegas who fell in love - something that is very taboo and frowned upon in this world. Although their family knows, they keep their relationship very private when out in public.
I'm intrigued by the set up here - Nathan is the alpha who discovers them and works to befriend them, and he finds himself wanting both omegas for himself. Then you have the 2 omegas, both who think that once the other finds himself an alpha, their relationship will have to end. Wes, especially, having gone through such trauma in his past marriage, thinks that he is not worthy of an alpha and Zeke will find someone better for him.
I sense a butt-load of angst and tears to come (heck, we already had some tears here) but I'm very interested in how this is going to turn out! I think that this is the first type of story I have read with one alpha and two omegas, it is usually the other way around. I hope that there is a bit of a quicker pace to this series, as I do feel like the last one dragged. Looking forward to the next part.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
If you purchase this book just know there s a cliff hanger. And there isn't another book. I paid for a half a book:'(.. It probably would have been a good book.
This is an intriguing first part to a new story from Rosa Swann and I am excited to read more. Wes and Zeke's relationship is.. unconventional in their society but it is so sweet and loving you can't help but root for them. The addition of Nathan definitely shakes things up in their world. This story has the making of a sexy and sweet ménage, especially with the mystery surrounding each character. I can't wait for more!
I loved it, but only now I notice these are all novellas with a cliff hanger. So the reader is being forced to keep paying and ends up spending very much on a single story.
I loved the first 2 series involving this group of guys. Sterling and Wilder after losing Logan, Clay and Aiden mating and then Wes funding love and healing with Zeke. Zeke loving Wes and his four children and their families accepting them even though they were both Omegas. I was so looking forward to reading their story but now that the author has thrown another Alpha into the mix I just don't know that I will continue it. Wes having escaped extreme abuse, Zeke finding love and caring for Wes and his kids was enough. Would have been great to just develop their relationship and story, not throw in another unneeded character that causes Wes stress. Should have developed the unconventional relationship between 2 omegas alone.
The Baristas' Surprise (Omegas' Destines Alpha, #1) ARC was graciously provided to me by the author for an honest review.
"The Beautiful Bond of Two Omega's.."
What an incredibly moving, gripping, and emotional story, or the beginnings of one, I have had the pleasure of loosing a much surprised amount of fluids as-of-late. It was that good. It's a story about the deep-seeded bond between two young men, and, how they manage to continue to walk with one foot in front of the other through life. As both men use the sadness and also the pain from their past, which has served as their strengthening backbones, as they slowly made their way through the invisible road block of life, which had developed for anything substantial in their future, they came across something that neither had even remotely had envisioned to have occurred..at all. The moment these two damaged and loving individuals, who have melded together to make one indescribably bonded entity, came across a potential friend, this welcomed story inadvertently turned into one of three individuals, each with now different kinds of sad and tortured pasts, slowly making their way through the stiff and murky waters of life with secrets, love, and, sacrifice leading their way..
The Baristas' Surprise, by Rosa Swann, is an heart-breaking, yet somewhat understandable read of three individuals who are desperately trying to find heir way through life, as love and life play hand-in-hand with decisions having been made despite hearts playing a pivotal role in this dance of life. Readers of the Making a Family series will be delighted to see that two of the most kind-hearted and loving characters, have found their way to their own series. Speaking for this reader...ahem...I'm immensely happy with the fact that these two individuals will be making their way toward their very own happily-ever-after...as they so absolutely very much deserve.
Gah..what a beautiful and amazing story of the two characters, Wes and Zeke, who I have adored ever since I first read about them in the previous series. I was so excited, and, did actually scream a little bit, when I first discovered that I'd be reading their story. It was so heart-warming to see Zeke guiding Wes through his time of healing with such a tight grip that it was surprising to see that they hadn't permanently melded into one person as a result of this kind of endearing support. It was just as emotionally gripping to bear witness as Wes continued to struggle as he continued to heal both physically and also emotionally from his difficult past. While it was also difficult to also even imagine the stuttering steps of these two wonderful men which were being made down this new road, the knowledge of their bond helped ease the endless river of tears that did flow as I read about this and also about the pending...sacrifice...that was about to be made by one of the men..
As this is the beginning of a new series, the overall development of characters along with the anticipation and progression of the story was very good. The introduction of a new character, Nathan, was equally good, as it left this reader eagerly anticipating further development to his story.
Despite the need for another run through with the editing process, this was such a great start to the Omegas' Destined Alpha series. I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat as I was reacquainted with the characters, and, found myself either cheering, crying, or, feeling incredibly nervous as I read through the story. As this is the continued development of one of the characters from the previous series, and, as it is recommended to read, Making a Family as well to get the best experience from this particular series, it is not a requirement. With all of this being said, I so very much look forward to continuing with this series, and eagerly await the next installment. I'll be waiting with a box of tissues as well as some chocolate as I know it'll be a good one..:)
First book of the Omega's Destined Alpha and I enjoyed reading it and discovering the MC's and the supporting characters. Nathan, Alpha, witnesses Zeke and Wes, Omegas, every morning walking past the coffee shop he's sits in and decides to follow his gut and go after them. He sees and intimate moment between the two and becomes even more intrigued. He ends up sitting in their cafe all morning, watching them work and how they are together before asking them both on a date. Zeke and Wes live together with Wes's children and his brother and his family. Wes's insecurity makes it hard for him to believe Nathan's interest is focused on them both and not just Zeke. Zeke is worried about Wes but also about the attraction he's feeling towards Nathan when he already loves Wes. I like the relationship between Wes and Zeke. It's good to see them both with that love and care for each other. Nathan seems like someone that can offer them both love and security that they both need. It'll be interesting to see how they all develop with this relationship on offer and how it will affect the dynamics between the two omegas and the three of them overall. The place the story is set sounds lovely and I hope that they go out more, though their dynamic of the three of them is a rarity and none of them want the extra attention when working out what they are to each other. I'd definitely recommend as a great start to an alpha/omega (non-shifter) story I received and ARC and am happily providing a review
This is the first book in The Omega's Destined Alpha Series. This is a MMM story and a serial (so it is short). An interesting book the writing was good. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters interesting. The characters were developed and thought out. Nathan an Alpha, Wes and Zeke are Omegas and they are the MC’s of this book. There was a writer and teacher, children, a cafe, school, a date, emotional confusion, an existing relationship and so much more in this book. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
I have wanted Wes's story since forever (it feels like). Wes and Zeke do not have a relationship that the outside world would understand. There is something in Zeke's background that is still hidden but powerful in his mind. Wes is still recovering from the horrific relationship he had with his ex while trying to build a better life for his children. Then we have Nathan, who sees the two omegas and slowly realizes it is both of them that he wants. Now, will all three get on the same page or will insecurities and fears stop them?
Love this first story of this new series. After everything that Wes has been through, I'm so glad he's getting his story and hopefully, his well deserved HEA. Great storyline to start off this series with wonderful characters. Wes and Zeke who are both omegas meet Nathan who is an alpha. There is an instant attraction between all three and great chemistry. Can't wait to see how this relationship progresses and if they can make it work. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Heart touching intensity, intriguing story-line with a slightly mysterious backstory is a terrific start to a new series. Great character development and the bittersweet plot created a one sitting read for me.
A poly relationship between Zeke, Wes and Nathan is fascinating, especially as we get to know what each man is thinking and feeling from their point of view.
An entertaining and well written beginning (at least I hope so) with good character development and very visual environment. The cliff-hanging (and abrupt) termination of the story (it is a second chance theme giveaway download) makes me want to read what happens next.
The story was good but I don't like a "hanger story". The book should've been complete. Also, I don't understand why, in an MMM relationship, one person has to think "The other one should have the person" in a MMM story. Maybe this author should stick with writing MFF stories to appease those certain readers.
I think i like this more then the "making a family" series. Wes was always one of my favorite characters. this part made me tear up more then once. poor Wes and his low self esteem :c i have high hopes for this series
Another good story by Rosa Swann. this MMM is less typical and full of damaged people trying to make life work.. It's all about fresh starts and possibilities. A fun read off to the next in the series. This seems like one where I want to read the series straight through to get to the real outcome.
Not quite sure how I feel about this one. It seems like the beginning of a much larger story. Each of the main characters is really broken and needs a lot of love and courage to move forward with their lives and relationships.
3.5 stars not bad, not bad. I didn't have high expectations going into this book, but was pleasantly surprised. I think it will get better in next part and I'm excited to read it and uncover characters' secrets
Cute and cuddly boys dealing with toooonnes of trauma find themselves all in one spot. The authors ability to convey the pain of remembered trauma, and recovering from abuse rings so true. A fluffy, comfy read.
Liked the story, but it ended abruptly with notice that continuation coming in next book. If I had realized I would not have read it at this time. Rather annoyed!
Enjoyable start to an extended series - though without a real resolution to the plot so essentially a first instalment only. (And I really need to sort out the whole Alpha/Omega thing!)
I loved the romance of this novel! Falling in love with the one you're destined to be with! I have always believed that there was one person destined to be with another; soul mates!
Queer contemporary ABO romance. This book is not a full book - it introduces the main characters and then ends abruptly. Subpar writing. Won’t be reading on.
My highlight in the last series by Rosa was the side character Wes. He is Clay's younger brother and had faced horrific abuse at the hands of his alpha husband. I was despite to see Wes get his happy so I'm so glad to see that he's now got his own series here. In the last series we saw that Wes gained his freedom from the evil ex and developed a relationship with his brother's friend Zeke. Zeke is another omega so I was intrigued by how their relationship would play out. I can't think of another A/B/O book I've read where the love interests are both omega. Really like that dynamic and intrigued to see how it will be handled. They both already can't see their relationship lasting as they believe the other's biology will mean they will eventually meet their alpha and that will be that. So sad as they are both totally in love with each other. I love that we're getting in Wes's head now and getting to see Zeke's POV. I must admit I was surprised to see an alpha being added to their story and this being a MMM. But it sounds like Nathan has his own baggage so I think there will be a lot of healing to be done between the three of them. Nathan has also never been with a male omega. And now he has two in this bed hmm I'm looking forward to seeing how things progress there.
I'm very intrigued by this first part of a new story. I love the idea of two omegas in a relationship, and while MMM can easily go bad for me, so far this threesome has worked well. Looking forward to more.
