The story of David Gates. A crazy missionary pilot who trusts in God even in extremely dangerous situations. I took inspiration from his story. He deserves the "man of the year" award. I kept reading it every night thinking what's going to happen to David next?. A quick read if you are looking to be inspired by the way God blesses his missionary children.

I met David randomly one evening returning home on a short airplane ride. Heard him say something about being a pilot and being an aviation geek, struck up a conversation. 30 minutes later he told me about a book some one had written about his mission work and I promptly ordered the book.

David and his family’s story is an amazing one of faith, service, and ultimately trusting in the Lord. While the story telling is a bit elementary and sometimes hard to follow, the story it tells is anything but ordinary. An action and adventure book of David Gates trials, service, and tributes to Jesus is a part of every page. This book truly made me question whether I had ever stepped out in faith after reading about David’s courage and belief that God would provide at every point.

Beautiful story of co-operation with God! This was a very encouraging read from start to finish, as the author brings the reader along to consider the effects of a life lived in faithful trust to a God Who is faithful to provide for the work He calls His people to.

This dude's ideas did not age well. Just google "David Gates conspiracy"- but be prepared- it's not pleasant.

I've had a high level of respect for mission pilots since I met Clyde Peters back in 1975. I have two friends, Bennett and Dalena Spenser serving in New Guinea. Bennett's an Adventist mission pilot too. The story of mission bush pilot David Gates in this book is inspiring. It is surprisingly honest about the stresses and pressures of working in primitive countries. It doesn't gloss over the hardship, but you do get a really good portrait of the kind of courageous, determined people God calls to the frontiers of the faith. Good book.
