Based on the cover, I thought this would be a fantasy-type book. This book is mostly about gay romance in a sort of odd, sub-culture they live in. I get the story-line and where the author was trying to go with it, but I don't think he really got there. There are lots of different points of views with people talking and it got a little confusing. The characters are a bit shallow for me, as the story-line seems to take over leaving the characters only shells of what they could have been. There were some editing and grammar mistakes as well. The book is dramatic and erotic, so if you like the combination you will like this story. I gave it an "okay" ranking, but the fragmented pieces of conversation or characters talking swayed my opinion.
Filled with twists and turns I was left constantly guessing at what would happen next and was being constantly surprised by the books turn of events.
With much of it set in London, a place I have spent a lot of my life, the imagery sent me right back to home. You can tell the author knows a lot about London as he’s able to portray the uniqueness and brilliance of the city fantastically.
I really enjoyed the style of writing here, it’s very visceral and detailed while still being easy to read with a nice flow.
A tale of love, mystery and secrets that shouldn’t be uncovered, it’s gripping throughout and ends in a climax of anticipation and horrific consequences.
