Keeping a journal is therapeutic. You can be real in a journal. There is no need to hide anything, disguise anything, be ashamed of anything. Before you is a journal detailing my journey toward healing. It holds pain but it also holds moments of realization that something better is possible because God is bigger than anything we can face on earth. God is bigger than the trauma of being molested, and God is bigger than any hole we might fall into because of depression. In the darkness, it is often too hard to hold onto that truth because it is hard to see beyond the moment. No matter the severity of the struggle there is a way out. There is a path to peace. I don’t think we can find it on our own, but with the right people and the knowledge that it is something God desires for us, healing is possible.
Oh my gosh! How could I have forgotten this one? Written by a great, long time friend, this book of poetry lays it all out on the line. Beth explores her raw emotions in a journey toward healing. Powerful! Also, my friend and her sister Robin did the cover art! :)
