The Blind Date

Rate this book
Have you ever been drawn to someone you hardly know?

Perhaps curious about their favorite color, their hopes and dreams, their darkest secrets, the unique scent of their skin and the way their lips would feel pressed against yours...

Margeaux, a museum curator, and Caia, an American artist living in Paris, are in the prime of their lives—young, beautiful and successful. They have everything going for themselves, except that in recent months their love lives have crashed and burned in the most spectacular ways.

With much reluctance and at the encouragement of a friend, the two women agree to meet on a blind date over lunch.

Beforehand, the cynic in each of them anticipates skipping lunch altogether and going straight for coffee in the hopes of bolting after. But, when the two women meet face to face something strange happens.

Is one afternoon in Paris enough time to fall in love with the woman of your dreams?

WARNING: This novel contains strong language and strong sexual content. Intended for 18+ years and above.

DNF @ 29%

At first I thought this book just started off slow but I was wrong. The author spends so much time describing Paris and its monuments that the book almost reads like a "where to go and what to see" guide. When the two main characters do finally meet the chemistry between them is nowhere to be found. Once again because of the author's need to describe everything in detail and therefor leaving very little room for dialogue. By this point I had completely checked out. Here's hoping my next read doesn't put me to sleep.

Great story

This is a great story I definitely recommend, it's a strange, wild and long blind date that ended with a sweet love note. The characters are charismatic and a little erratic, Caia is an artist and Margeoux is an art curator. it really was crazy date with an unexpected event that will leave you speechless, and a lovely ending.

The perfect date

“Love sucks.
Love stinks.
Love hurts.
Love is Lady Death.
And Lady Death is a bitch.
I hope she dies!”

“It can be ugly, sad, exposing, even hideous at times. Isn’t that what human emotions are? Art encompasses every single one of those attributes. It isn’t supposed to be eye-catching all the time. It’s just supposed to make you feel something when you look at it. And great art moves your fucking soul.”

“I do, however, see a woman who’s warring with her own emotions, much like I am. I see a woman who can’t keep her hands off me no matter how hard she tries.
And I don’t know if I want her to.”

This story is everything we imagine when we dream about finding our forever love: attraction, connection, emotion, passion, satisfaction… perfection!!

Its an emotional & entertaining story with characters that become so authentic they truly become like they're actually a part of your life. The engaging plot developed & progressed at just the right rate, drawing you in so subtly & naturally, without you even noticing, that the progression felt believably genuine & 💯— even in its unbelievable HEA!

Amazing love

For sure there is a concern that a blind date could turn out to be the worst but what if it's not...there is a story worth telling when the story turns out to be a butterfly in the stomach feeling when we make a connection with someone. The attractiveness of love is that anything is possible and yes it can last all day and night. To top it off is that love is timeless and endless.
What a page turner. This story has me going OMG when the twist had taken place. I for one found it surprising that the two lovebirds are actually connected to the one who broke their heart. I can only imagine the expression they have when they were all face to face. Priceless.

A Date truely blind can change your life.

The author brings a beautiful story of that give an amazing vision of Paris. I felt like I got lost there and was glad when Caia and Margeaux took center stage. Their heartache unwound in the story of their very long date. Their connection was the thing string that drew them together. As their date drew into an all day/night affair their back story unfolded. This book ends with a twist that made all the pages of individual thought worth their coming together. The twists in the plot story were like nothing one could imagine.

Did I Love this Book? Qui!

This is the first book that I've read by Jessica Pots and I'll say that The Blind Date packed a small lifetime into an 18 hour date. This was a unique concept for a book and the author delivered with two broken women who get talked into the date by their friend Elise. I can't say too much more or I'll give away pivotal storyline, but suffice it to say that this was a highly enjoyable story.

Meh

This book started out well but quickly turned into a poorly written and conceived story that is just so unrealistic it was painful to finish. I'd suggest not wasting your time with this unless you want to be annoyed at the lesbian stereotypes that are rampant in this book.

Different

This book was very different from the books I usually read... It was sensual and sexy but in a very understated way. It was lush and beautiful , warm and romantic but with a twist you don't see coming. Very, very well done. Brava!

Romantic and unusual

WOW! Talk about love at first look, these two women had a different background and then they seemed to mesh into one being after a very unique first date. Really a must read.
