Joanna’s life is finally getting direction. She’s worked her way through college with scholarships and part-time jobs, taken care of her mother and sisters and finally, it’s time for her big break. She’s landed a job at a law firm as a legal assistant – it’s only the bottom rung but she’s finally climbing the ladder of her career.
Nothing is perfect, though, and on her way to work, she already faces her first test with a broken car. She might lose her job if she’s not on time on her first day. Surely, someone will come along and help?
When a handsome biker stops, she believes she is finally saved. Only until she discovers her hero is none other than Drake, her high school sweetheart who broke her heart.
As if it can’t get worse, Drake doesn’t want to leave her alone. It’s bad enough that she can’t get him off her mind. She doesn’t need a repeat of the past that nearly broke her.
The tides turn when he confesses his feelings for her. Everything she believed happened in the past shatters before her eyes. Drake is back and he wants her and only her. There’s nothing quite like the final fulfillment of unrequited love.
But will it be different this time? Is he telling the truth? Or will Drake once again trample her fragile heart?
This steamy biker romance is intended for adult readers only.
This is the first book I've read by this author, I really liked it. Fast paced, moves right along. I'm definitely going to read more from Darcia Cobbler.
This was ok for a novella but I was disappointed abbot the lack of MC /biker reference. Though the story was well written I would have liked more of a biker feel to it.
I gave this three stars but really should be two and a half. It's a quick read but a lot was missing. A description of the h, why the guy leaves, what's he doing now. The thing that makes a story great are the details and I felt this one was about three chapters short.
This was a good book and had potential to be more. I wish the author could have gone more into Drake's reasoning on why he left and where he been. It would have given his character more depth other than being a long lost love. Decent book.
WTF! 5 . . count them . . F I V E whole chapters! A whole 52 pages, including the title and content pages. SO NOT worth the effort, even if it is free on kindle unlimited.
