When my hunky neighbor Carter spies me wrestling a chunk of dry rot on the front porch of my piece of sh*t, moneypit, rundown, not-so-home-sweet-home, it seems help is on the way. Especially when Tanner, Wyatt, and Dig join the team. And it turns out my house was not the only thing that desperately needed attention. The guys get to work fixing me… and the house… right up. My four guys’ tools are just perfect for sharing. For sharing ME, that is.

Writing has been a passion of mine since, well, forever (my first book was The Day I Ate the Milkyway, a true fourth-grade masterpiece). These days, steamy romance, both dark and funny, gives purpose to my days and nights as I create worlds and characters who defy the imagination. I live in magical Northern California with my own handsome alpha dude, sometimes known as Mr. Mika Lane, and two devilish cats named Chuck and Murray. These three males also defy my imagination from time to time.
A lover of shiny things, I've been known to try new recipes on unsuspecting friends, find hiding places so I can read undisturbed, and spend my last dollar on a plane ticket somewhere.
I'll always promise you a hot, sexy romp and some version of a modern-day happily ever after.
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💙❤️💚 Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙 World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌍 Character development: 😊😘😟 Narration: 🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Dual Narration
The heroine:Jayma - she works at an advertising agency as a receptionist, and she gets dumped by her attorney ex-boyfriend. Jayma is having trouble paying her mortgage because the house is in her name, but she was paying it with her boyfriend and without his higher salary, she doesn’t have the money. She just got a letter saying she is soon going into foreclosure and her house is in need of work. They were going to fix it up and flip it for profit, but they never got around to fixing it up because of Lance’s hours. Lance also hadn’t paid his part of the house payment for the last few months.
The Heroes:Carter - he lives next door to Jayma and has always admired her from afar. He sees that her house has a cracked foundation and dry rot. He is a contractor who took over for his father after he died. Tanner - he works for the same advertising agency as Jayma. He didn’t know Jayma well, but thought she was cute. He has a great sense of humor and likes to make people laugh. Wyatt - He is a plumber and who had been off on the other side of the world backpacking when his dad got alzheimer’s. He took over the family plumbing business and was trying to make a go of it. Though the financials weren’t great. Dig - best friends with Carter, they like to date one woman between the two of them. He sells real estate for a living.
The Story: Jayma figured that since Lance was gone now, she would start to go out more. She was asked on a date by Carter and to a happy hour with Tanner and others at the office. She wanted to forget her troubles, so she decided to be the life of the party. She wanted to move up the ladder at the advertising agency, so she chatted up all the folks at the happy hour. She then got asked out by Wyatt after her water heater breaks down.
As far as reverse-harem romances go, I kind of like them better when the men are all friends before they start going after the female. Since the chances of random men being willing to share one woman are way beyond realistic. It seems to me that guys that are good friends and comfortable with each other are much more likely to be cool with something like that. So, I liked that dig and Carter had experience like that but not that Tanner and Wyatt were random other guys.
This audiobook was told in multiple points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Jillian Macie and Damien Singer. I like Jillian Macie’s voice. She sounds age appropriate and is great at showing emotion through her voice. I don’t think I have heard Damien Singer before, though he does a good job even if his voice isn’t as deep as I like for romantic heroes.
Jayma is having a bad stretch. Dumped, in debt, and about to lose her house which is close to falling down already, Jayma is prepared to move in with her best friend and start over when her life starts to turn around. Her cute next-door neighbor and his best friend, her geek-chic co-worker, and her plumber's hot son all show interest in her now that she's single. And they all want to help. Carter, Dig, Tanner, and Wyatt to the rescue in more ways than one.
The Renovation is a contemporary Reverse Harem. It's a short, easy read. On the edge of foreclosure, Carter, a contractor, and Wyatt, a plumber are like fairy godfathers. Tanner, although he starts out a bit on the creepy side turns out to be the perfect person to help advance Jayma's career, and Dig, a real-estate agent has needed contacts. It's all way too perfect. But then so is the way the guys all fall into Jayma's lap and magically get along with no jealousy or rough patches. Jayma herself isn't nearly as anxious as it seems she should be in her circumstances. She's still meeting her friend out for drinks, dining out, basically just ignoring her soon to be ruined credit rating and homelessness.
Instant bro-love! Insta-love for Jayma. This is pure fluff. And that's fine. There's a place for books like this just like there is room for pop music as well as opera. It's a nice escape. It's an adult fairy tale with likable characters, some sexy times, and a happy for now ending.
Una historia extraña e inverosímil. El novio la deja, el banco se va a quedar con su casa y de pronto tiene cuatro tipos atractivos detrás de ella que la ayudan a resolver de forma rápida y fácil todos sus problemas...
Dnf at around 60% because this was copy paste the previous book “ The Inheritance”. It was also centered around a house, the dynamic is the same, the plot moved the same, the “plot” progression is also the same, if you can call it a plot. Don’t get me wrong, the smut was not bad but it was boring in a way it was just the same as the other book in the series.
The audiobook is not even 2 hours long on x2 speed, it’s not bad either but aside from that, meeeeh.

I mean, girl get that bread, but maybe find someone who lasts more than four sentences in bed. Props to the author for naming one of the guys Dig, because: 1) the puns write themselves; 2) listening to the audiobook I thought he was named Dick which in context was hilarious.
After being dumped with a house going into foreclosure, Jayma doesn’t know what to do but the 4 guys she meets next all do. They all look at her like she’s a goddess, and they treat her like one too. Her friend introduces them all behind her back and they team up to get her house fixed and sold before it’s too late...falling more in love with her as they go.
I really liked this book, and it was another super fun installment into this series. Even though it was short, and I feel the same way that I felt about the first book that I do about this one. And if you do read this series, I highly recommend the omnibus audiobook. The narration is so good.
I can't enough good things about Mika Lane's ability to write a book to get you interested immediately and not wanting to out the book down. Mika can write a hot scene that makes a girl want to find her own Kings so they can act out some stuff. DAAAAMN!!!
Jayma is having a rough time lately. She's working as a receptionist at an ad agency where she meets Tanner. Her next door neigh is handsome carter and Dig is his gorgeous friend and lance, well he is a plumber that she uses when necessary. After her rat of a boyfriend leaves her in the lurch these four wonderful,, handsome hunks come to her aid. This is a reverse harem with Jayma having her world filled with men that lust and love her and don't want to let her go. Sp they come up with an interesting solution to her problem. plenty of steam heat with these five and a great storyline penned by Mika Lane. If you haven't read anything by her before then you are in for a treat as she is a terrific author and writes with passion and reality. A great story that kept my attention right to the end of the book. I look forward to Mika's next book. I received a reader's copy and voluntarily leave my honest review of it here.
This book was just horrible. The writing was just so bad but even worse was the dialogue. It was almost like reading a police report just so matter-of-fact and so quick there was no passion or depth or build up or anything you would want in a story. Everything just went so fast that you had didn’t have time as a reader to adjust to or get used to anything. Just like in the sex scenes that were literal and I mean literal two pumps and it was over. It gave me whiplash so quickly it went. There was just no time given in this book to enjoy anything or get into anything before it was moving onto the next thing. And I couldn’t stand the leading lady, even her name was horrible. Who the hell is named Jayma? Her best friend was fucking annoying and stupid. Honest to God, this whole book was crap.
thinking that her boyfriends was going to purpose and turn Jayma life upside down Lance leave Jayma a house going into foreclosure and then Jayma meets her neighbor Carter comes over to talk to her since he was in a great mood and find a hint that she is no longer with her boyfriend and asks her out Tanner works with her and askes her out as well Wyatt comes over to fix the hot water heater and asks her out Carter has a sharing relationship with his best friend Dig and invites him to have a drink with him and Jayma and Dig as her out
4 good looking guys that knows there way in the bed room all wanting her what will she do
This was a really sweet and steamy Contemporary Reverse Harem book. I loved Jayma and I loved her guys. Each one was so sweet and good for her. They all brought something necessary to her life, and it was great to see her blossom under their attention and affection.
As far as smut goes I don’t expect a very eloquent or well written story to surround the actual smut scenes but this was just so bad. I swear each character meeting Jayma had the same line “you know I’ve been wanting to ask you out for forever” despite them just then being introduced to her life in any meaningful way. Overall it was mid but I still enjoyed it.
I really enjoyed this story. Jayma's boyfriend leaves her with a house that is about to be foreclosed on. Just when she thinks there is nothing she can do she meets 4 amazing guys. They help her realize things can be better and she doesn't have to give up.
Excellent reverse harem book. Great writing, fantastic characters, a bit of drama. I couldn't put this one down! I voluntarily received an ARC of this book.
If you are looking for a fast paced, fun and exciting story, this is the book for you. The characters are great and the pace is well done. I really enjoyed the read.
I don't think I've ever said that about a book. And when authors put in time to write a book (is this even considered one when it's shorter than a novella?), I don't like saying things like that. But damn, this was terrible.
There was literally no story, no character building, the sex scenes were terrible, (it felt like pages were actually missing), the FMC was a bitch to her friend, and she wasn't even truthful to the guys she was sleeping with. The guys were horribly written, and I swear it was written by a man (I had to triple-check to make sure it wasn't). Her ass was mentioned over and over, there were tons of blow jobs, and the FMC was fine with men treating her like crap (a coworker yelled at her constantly, and she kept saying it was understandable).
This was basically like a bad porno (for how unbelievable the story was), with horrible sex scenes that didn't pay off. Some were just a few sentences long, and there was no build-up at all. At one point, she passed out from an orgasm and then fell asleep right after work, with no dinner, bathroom break, nothing. I just...*pulls hair* So glad I bought it with Amazon credit instead of actual money.
Surprisingly not too bad or at least not as bad as the book before it. Some peppered spelling errors which wasn’t surprising as the last book had some of the same issues. The plot itself is instalove, girl falls down on her luck with her last boyfriend, gets saddled with a wreck of a home that is getting foreclosed on. And magically she falls for guys that all have a way to help her fix her house (what are the chances 🙄) and just like the last book they all agree to move in with each other to “try it out”. Also just like the last book, of the four, two of them knew each other previously and shared women together. So this author is basically keeping the elements the same just changing up the circumstances. Not a bad read the steamy scenes could’ve been kicked up a notch, as I felt like they were lacking. My biggest peeve is that the author is coasting on the same premise of the last book without inventing anything new. If I was a buying customer I’d be ticked. At least this one was a little better than the last and free on KU.
