This is another big chunky book about marketing. I read and finished the first four chapters three years ago. The writing style was encyclopedic.
Great information but many times, I found myself reading for the sake of reading and annotating without understanding anything.
I hated myself when I do this. It was a waste of time. No learning at all.
For this, I decided to put it back to sleep on the shelf.
Now that I am re-routing myself into another level, I realized I needed to return to this chunky and get serious. While scanning the Table of Contents, I told myself that almost all topics were covered while I consumed the Consumer Behavior book by Hawkins and Mothersbaugh.
Therefore, I made a strategic plan to not overwhelm myself again. I decided to only read another four chapters. These chapters were about product and pricing.
I was bored reading about pricing concepts. Almost sleeping while following the computations I cared nothing about. I skipped them for this reason and proceeded to the pricing strategies.
This was a fun and an intriguing chapter all at the same time. I have realized that pricing a product is not a one-time decision. It changes time after time.
Well, it's a textbook. I always feel reluctant to rate a textbook based on entertainment value, but I really resisted this one especially and I had trouble getting through my class readings. It does include a lot of information, so it's probably effective for learning about marketing. Just that I hated it.
This was actually one of my favorite textbooks to read - the content was very engaging and easy to follow. It made homework assignments a lot easier. I wish more textbooks were presented in this format.
My text for my marketing class. It seems pretty informational. A bit intimidating because of it's size-I wouldn't have thought a marketing book to be this big-esecially because it's just a general class.
