About the author

DEBORAH RANEY's first novel, A Vow to Cherish, inspired the World Wide Pictures film of the same title and launched Deb’s writing career. Twenty-five years, forty-plus books, and numerous awards later, she's still creating stories that touch hearts and lives. This is a nice little collection of Raney short stories, but in all honesty, it’s an uneven set. “Haiti’s Song” is by far the best of the bunch, a real jewel. All of them are okay, but several of these tales fall victim to an all-too-common trend in Christian romance, where the escalating emotions are described from both the guy’s and the girl’s perspective. She’s breathless for him, he’s equally breathless for her, yet weird things keep getting in the way. All the while, each is in their own corner going: “Why didn’t we kiss? Huh? Huh?”
Two good realities are that all six short stories are professional and well-written. Also, Raney is exceptional at infusing the stories with gutsy Christian faith that I think most readers will find encouraging and not off-putting.
If you really want to experience the best this gifted author has to offer, get “The Face of the Earth.” It a substantially better read and well worth checking out.

I’m surprised this book was free. I got it after reading one of her novels and it was a great collection of short stories - nice to read at the end of the day when you want to relax. The last two were my favourites. “Finally Home” reminded me of “Wind Chime Cafe” by Sophie Moss - another book I’ve read recently.

Love Finds A Way

A beautiful love story told with a great family life of fortitude for two different living families that have been struggling with dreams of belonging and with two different worlds, It shows us how God is is good and turns surprises into our life in such different ways, a must read for any age.

This "book" was several short stories. A couple of them seemed really familiar from other books by the same author so I don't know if she wrote the short novella first and them built on it or condensed/rewrote a smaller version of a regular book. Super quick read though. Each story was a romance, some a bit predictable but generally had a twist toward the end.

Lovely short stories

This is a wonderful series of short stories, some a little longer than others. They all have an inspiring and encouraging message. I enjoyed each one as the author instilled the love of God into the characters in such a touching way. A great read!

Great reading

Great stories
