Janine Hewitt is happy. Mostly happy, that is. She has a wonderful family, plenty of friends, and her husband adores her. But something is missing. Something big.
Thad Hewitt is a loving husband and father. He works hard to keep his family comfortable and well fed. He's a God-fearing man who thanks the Lord daily for all the ways he's been blessed. Though he can't quite put his finger on it, he knows something's wrong with his wife. He thinks he's come up with the perfect plan to cheer Janine up. Their wedding anniversary is coming and he wants to give her a special gift. A grand gesture to put a little spark back into their marriage.
The plan is set in motion and Janine is none the wiser about what her husband is cooking up. When she becomes suspicious about his odd behavior, will the wedge that's developed between them be hammered deeper? Trust and communication in a marriage is the foundation. When that foundation cracks, can it be repaired?
I actually jumped ahead to this book after finishing book 6 about Jemma in "Becoming A Family". I had thought this was going to be about Janine and Thad meeting for the first time! Needless to say, I must not have read the description except to see their names...lol. I thought to myself, why is it book 25? I guess I found out!
Anyway, it was a very good, but deeply emotional book. That was another thing that confused me, as in book 6, Janine was so lively and fun. I love Thad, but that man did need to communicate better with his lovely bride. And I'm so glad the episode with Miss Triplett was cleared up!
Very sweet and touching HEA 💞💐 Now, back on track to start book 7!!!
Wonderful Story! So many stories in this genre focus on new couples finding each other. This story is different. Readers have seen Janine and Thad as secondary characters in previous books. We never got the story of how their romance started. Now we're treated to what happens in a few years when you have gotten comfortable with each other. This is a wonderful story showing the middle of a life time relationship and how a couple works to keep the marriage alive.
Hero: Thad - Heroine: Janine 4.5* : Another great story in this series that is filled with fun, love and intrigue. The story progressed steadily, has well developed characters and a fun developing plot. A compassionate look at marriage and how two people continue to need reassurance and reminders of love they share. This story has a very happy and satisfying HEA
I enjoyed reading Annie Boone's book "Committed." The story fits we for marriage growing pains. We all need to reflect and understand the choices we make in life. This book shows how this couple accomplished their goal of staying "Committed".
