SAWYER: My name's on the neon sign above the tattoo shop, but her name's forever tattooed on my heart. I grew up with the nickname ‘Saint’ and opened St. Skin with the dream of marrying Kate and living a good life. But that dream died years ago...didn't it? Now I'm heading back to Hundred Falls Valley to stake my claim to the shop...and to Kate’s heart. The last thing I expect is for her to have a kid.
KATE: Face it, we broke each other’s hearts. No, that’s not good enough. We stomped on each other’s hearts. We set them on fire and watched them burn. But it still hurt when Sawyer left. I gave up my dream of working at the tattoo shop to give Jason the best childhood I can. But then in walks Sawyer, my greatest and worst memory. Now I'm being torn in two. I still love Sawyer, but I have to protect Jason. Because no one knows the truth: Jason's not my son and the two of us are in more danger than anyone knows.
I really dont like this book. All due to the heroine, Kate. She is a bitch. She is irrational. She said a very very nasty thing over a small things. She is very selfish. I do not understand why the author creates such a nasty character. Listening to Kate had a panic attack over her lawyer call, make me want to slap her.
Sawyer is a dull 1 dimensional character. He is stupid to falling for Kate. And the secret about Jackson parents reveals about 50% of the book, and when the truth finally reveal, its anti climax. It is miracle that I finish listening to the audio book
A 2nd chance romance where the h was NOT the poor victim and stayed faithful in the separation!!
H and h where young with a toxic relationship, H just leave and without a word...
5 years pass and a lot has happen...
Didn't read the others books and didn't feel "lost" in the story... Really like to see the character evolution on how they handed things then and now!!
This was the first one of the series that I read. I like it...I did...but I don't think their past was written into the books in the series before this one, but I really wish there was more about their past. Like...why did they try and make each other jealous, why did they break up a lot...what was truly going on. I didn't get the big picture so I couldn't understand truly why Sawyer ran away and left for all those years.
Not sure why Sawyer's story was important to this series. I would be much more interested in Prick's, Axel's, and Tate's stories. At least those characters were part of all previous books. I don't remember Sawyer or Kate even being in previous stories. Regardless, this wasn't a bad story, just not one of the best.
I loved that Saint/Sawyer is back at St. Skin. Tate and the guys are looking to expand St. Skin and now that Sawyer is back he isn't on board. Tate is looking at a possible TV Reality show and Sawyer is a definite NO. Tate and Sawyer have a love and hate relationship and as usual there will be punches thrown. But let's not forget that other reason he's back, Kate. Kate has changed, she's not the same as she was when he left. Life has become a struggle just to survive and something that Sawyer may not accept. The only thing is he's there to get her back no matter what obstacles/roadblocks they have to go through, to be together..
I read this and loved the memories of the other stories of the men of St. Skin. You get the family they have been and all become again. Great story. Hopefully Tate will get his next.
I love Sawyer & Kate. Well I loved Sawyer more then Kate. I like Kate but never fall in love with her. Sawyer on the other hand might have become the love of my life. I think Jason was my favorite part of the book. Sawyer left because Kate & Sawyer just kept hurting each other. He came back when it was time to take back what was his. Kate had a child, Tate had grown the business that they started together. That didn’t matter to Sawyer he came back with a plan winning Kate back & getting his business back. It was messy lot of fighting with Tate. But in the end they came together. Helping Prick when he need someone the most. He got the girl & but not the kid. Jason ended up being Tate son. So Sawyer became uncle Sawyer. In the end he got his business back, family back, his girl, a nephew & a child of his own.

Don’t know why I never finished this series, glad I found it again! Great story great characters! Stuck at my in laws and trying to keep my mouth shut so I read it in a day. On to the next. Two days left till I can go home!
Sometimes love and hate are so entwined it’s impossible to know where one ends and the other begins. Selfishness wars with devotion and the need to destroy battles the desire to heal. Sometimes time and distance provide clarity and certainty, but almost always, life has other ideas.
When Sawyer left Hundred Falls Valley, St. Skin, the business he had built, and Kate, the only girl he ever loved, he left a trail of wreckage. Lifelong friendships – his family really – abruptly severed, the tattoo shop created from his heart and soul abandoned, and Kate's heart littered in jagged shards. All with no explanation. There one minute and gone the next, never returning as days turned into years. Suddenly he's back, strolling into St. Skin like he’d only been absent for a short lunch break and determined to win back Kate, this time forever. But Kate has acquired a history Sawyer knows nothing about, which now includes a son, and she toils each day to hold her life together. Sawyer's resolution and his heart's desire don’t change Kate's reality. As the author so aptly notes, “ . . .the heart’s version of life and reality were usually two different things . . . A heart was a window with a beautiful view. Reality was a rock that could shatter the window in a second.”
During the first part of their relationship, I wasn't sure what to make of Sawyer and Kate. It was full of contradictions – the love and hate, selfish and selfless, disdain and desire. They both had a lot of growing up to do, and as much as I wish they never had to be separated, I’m not sure they could have done it while still together. But maybe with a little time and maturity, with the perspective distance brings, maybe the second time around will be different. Just maybe they’ll figure out how to put the other's wants and needs, their dreams and desires, above their own. And maybe when reality hurls the worst rock at them, they can keep the window from shattering.
Once again these authors peel back the layers to deliver a story created with their own heart and emotion poured into it. The setting and environment painted word by word drew me in and all of these characters immediately settled deep in my heart. Sawyer, with his cocky, selfish, uncaring appearance has a lot of emotion running deep, driving his determination and fueled by his heart of gold. Life experience has matured Kate more quickly than she could ever have imagined, yet she doesn’t realize it’s made her a better version of herself, with her focus on simply surviving from day to day.
I completely, totally adored Sawyer and Kate together and was pulling for them from the outset. It was pretty clear their last road would be full of potholes and speedbumps, but I gladly threw myself into the vehicle to experience every bump, every stop and start, and every piece of scenery along that road. No matter who was driving, they were together, side by side. Their hope and hurt, their desire and frustration, their strength and self-doubt, their passion and anger, their stubbornness and love all washed over me as they make their way down the road. Their story is raw, passionate, turbulent and exhilarating and definitely a must read! Hit the 1-Click now and immerse yourself in the world of St. Skin, a world that will stay with you long after the last page and a world you'll find yourself eager to experience again and again.
Our Last Road was a hell of a ride. So many emotions packed into one story. Sadness, grief, anger, happiness and love, lots of love.
Sawyer (Saint) has finally come back to his hometown, back to the tattoo shop with his name on it, back to his woman, the woman he left behind years ago. He knows though, that Kate is his, now if he can just convince her to give him a second chance to prove it. He doesn't know that Kate's life has changed since he's been gone, though. She has a new man in her life, the most important man, and Sawyer will just have to deal if he wants a second chance at forever with her.
What I love most about Jaxson and London's collaborations is that their hearts are in everything they write. They don't shy away from the hard stuff, from all the pain and the grief and the anger that we all feel at one time or another in our lives. I always feel as if my heart's been ripped out and patched back together by the time I'm done reading one of their co-written books, and Our Last Road is no exception. It's a beautifully emotional story and it was good to finally get the story behind the name this series is based on. Can't wait for more from Jaxson and London!
I was anxious for the next St. Skin novel, and Our Last Road didn't disappoint! I loved Sawyer/Saint so much! He made his mistakes, grew up, and now came back for Kate and everything else he left behind. I loved the way he just walked back in and stepped into his life--and tried to. And I loved how he had to come to terms with the fact that a lot had changed while he was gone. It was very real and human and made both the story and the characters very believable.
Kate was a bit of a "doomsdayer", but that wasn't totally surprising considering what she'd been through and the people she had to deal with. Sawyer was wonderfully patient and understanding with her, a little bit of a surprise, but it seemed all part of his willingness to take responsibility for himself and his actions. I loved the will he/won't he leave, the tests he faced, the ways he surprised her. And speaking of surprises, I loved the twist at the end. I honestly hadn't seen it coming--and I usually have at least an inkling. Good job!
I can easily and totally recommend this book to anybody who loves tattoo artists, second chances, and bad boys. You won't be sorry!
WOW! This latest St. Skin book blew me away. This will take your emotions and throw them all over the place, in the best way! Sawyer, aka Saint, left town years ago when he felt like his world was crashing in on him. He left his best friend Tate, their tattoo shop, but most importantly is that he left Kate. Kate was his world , though at the time they stomped on each other's hearts and gave up. They couldn't open up to each other so they pushed each other away. Years later Sawyer needs to get his life back, the tattoo shop and Kate. Kate was heartbroken when Sawyer left and has been through more than most people since then. Their love has never dies and their attraction is still there, and it's smoking hot. Can they get the love and trust they need, especially when Sawyer finds Kate with a young boy calling her Mommy? This is a story of regrets, facing your fears, redemption, healing and the enduring love of Sawyer and Kate. Oh - and the twist with Tate was awesome!!! You need to get this NOW!!!! I absolutely loved this!!
Our Last Road is the latest addition to the St. Skin world and is an absolute phenomenal read. There Is not really one thing that I disliked about this book. It is very well written, the chapters flow freely and effortlessly without missing a beat. The characters are very well developed and, extremely likable with qualities that you can relate to in the real world. The authors have an uncanny ability to write a book that really grips at your heartstrings and pull you in physically and emotionally on so many different levels. It is truly a remarkable talent to be able to evoke such connections with the readers; they make you feel all the feels.
This is a story of second chance love and the road it takes to get to the final destination. There are forks in the road and a tremendous amount of bumps, but I promise that if you hold on for the ride, you will not be disappointed. To say that this book deserves only 5 Stars is an understatement as it really deserves so much more. If you have not 1-clicked Our Last Road yet, what are you waiting for?
Our Last Road is an emotional journey. It will make you feel anger, sadness, hope, and love.
Unanchored and restless with his current life, Sawyer finally decides to face his past and return to the one place and the one woman that he could never forget. Reclaiming his partnership in St. Skin means a second chance to be a member of his tattoo shop. And once he claims Kate, the second chance for love and the life he’s always wanted with her. But it won’t be easy. He has to convince Kate to give him another chance, earn her trust and not split when life gets tough. To his surprise, he finds Kate has a son. The revelation of this fact is mind-blowing.
The story is very well written, and the past and present backstory are seamless. I love the characterization and the pacing had me spellbound. I also liked reading about the other members of the St. Skin family. They are funny together and a close-knit brotherhood of men. And after reading Sawyer and Kate’s HEA, I am so looking forward to Tate’s story. Great job, Jaxson and London.
I have read a few stories now from these two woman and thoroughly enjoyed them all so far. This one is no exception. Sawyer ran away from his life, his business and his girl and now he is back to claim them all again. There are several problems with that. His partner isn't thrilled he is back, his girl isn't thrilled to see him either and she has a secret he doesn't know about. Sawyer walks back into his life as if he didn't leave, gets to his shop and does a tat on a girl like he has been there all along. Most of the guys feel sort of betrayed by him and give him the cold shoulder, his partner is furious and they end up out back duking it out. He also needs to make amends with Kate, how to explain why he just picked up and left without even letting her know and not to come back until years later. Question is now, can they all get passed this and move on. Kate has some things to share with him also, see how he reacts. He is determined to get back everything he left behind. Here you read all the struggles they go through to get there.
Best mates Tate and Sawyer grow up dreaming of the tattoo shop they are going to own together. Things don’t always go as expected and it’s evident when their dream finally becomes a reality. Everything in Sawyers life is complicated. Kate and him are pushing boundaries and hurting one another and Tate always seems to get between them. It all implodes one night and Sawyer hits the road, he opens a tattoo shop near the beach. He is living the dream but there is a vital piece missing, he sells up and rides back into Hundred Falls Valley. Some of the guys at St Skin greet him with open arms but there is also some who would prefer he turned back around and left. He tries to squeeze back into Kate’s life but she resists him too! Her life is upside down, working at the diner to support her little boy. Kate is scared to tell Sawyer everything because he is likely to up and leave again. Sawyer is persistent though and buried himself deeply in her heart. Things are about to become very complicated for them and this will be the true test if Sawyer can stick around.
Absolutely my favorite! Worth putting the world on hold to read!
Oh yeah, that was just right!! I love it when a story takes hold of my head and heart. Leaving me no other choice but to be wholly consumed by a story and it's characters! It's no secret I have a soft spot for the St. Skin books, this one though, it's the connection that brings these remarkable tales together making it number one on my list!
" I came back for forever. And the only time I've ever felt close to forever was when I was with you."
Swayer and Kate's story is one in your face emotional roller coaster. The torrential downpour of feels that follows them and the rest if the St. Skin crew throughout the sexy, twisted, humorous minefield that is their lives. I dare you not to get caught up in the story that is their maddening lives! One well written, free-flowing, bad boy outlawed masterpiece that is most deserving of 5 stars! IMO a must read!
It’s been years since he left suddenly one night, but it had been coming to that for awhile. Sawyer and Kate and Sawyer’s bf Tate were tearing each other apart. So he left without a word.
Life has moved forward without Sawyer. Kate has a son, Jason. She’s a single mom struggling to pay the bills and take care of him.
Tate’s running St. Skin, their jointly owned tattoo shop and it’s super successful. Sawyer is still a partner even though he’s be absent.
While Sawyer was gone, he opened a new tattoo shop. He worked, he existed and then opportunity arose to sell for big money and he decides it’s time to claim his rightful place at St. Skin and to get Kate back.
Redemption is tough and comes not without hard work. Secrets run depp. Sawyer has to re-build relationships, re-build trust and ask for forgiveness. Love isn’t easy but it’s worth it.
Kate and Sawyer are intense. Their love is all consuming. Their attraction is HOT! They are forever.
I am a huge fan of the St. Skin family. Each book is about a different guy who works at the successful tattoo shop creating memories and finding happiness along the way. This latest book is about Sawyer, who is half owner of St. Skin. Sawyer left St. Skin and Kate when his heart was hurting and he needed to run. Now several years later he is back. He is tired of running and wants his life and his woman back. Things have changed. Can he step back into the life he left? Will Kate let him in or is it too late? From the first page I was hooked. The entire book I could tell how everyone felt from the sadness and pain to happiness and love. The chemistry between Sawyer and Kate was off the charts and their road to their HEA was a great one to read.
WOW another amazing St Skin book. If you haven't started this series, then what are you waiting for? It's absolutely amazing, and just gets better with every book. Jaxson Kidman and London Casey are pure magic together. This book has everything you could want. I loved Sawyer and Kate together. Sawyer and Kate's journey was filled with so many emotions from anger, love, hate, tension, and so many more. It has twists and turns you won't see coming. Not everyone is happy that Sawyer is back after all these years to claim St. Skin, and Kate's heart, least of all Kate. I cannot wait to get more of St Skin and hopefully more Tate, Prick, and Axel.
Wow I have read every one of these books and I must say that with each one we get to know the guys of St. skin a wole lot better. In this book we find out what happens when you run from tour past and never really knowing what will happen in the future. Sawyer and Kate are just the two people to help us understand just that. I really hope that the rest of the guys get a book as well. We need to know how they All came to St. Skin and now call it home. Jaxson and London I'm honored to have read this book and all the others and keep up the fantastic work. You have a true fan for life. I happily give this book 5+ stars.
Great, Great Story!. Like the other books in the St. Skin Series the story pulls you in and doesn't let go until the end. Kate and Sawyer had a good thing going until they didn't. Sawyer left town only to return years later with hopes of reconnecting with Kate but she has been through so much since he left without a word. This story has some twists and turns that leave you guessing what will happen between the two and the tattoo shop that he co-owns with his best buddy Tate. Sometimes life gives you second chances at getting it right and sometimes that second chance never comes. I loved each of the books in this series - all were well written with great characters.
I really liked this one, I did. But as is the case with many series I read, there are continuity problems! Like an entire character has just disappeared. Max was in the first three books, maybe four, but he was gone from this one. Several times all the guys at St. Skin were listed....no mention of Max. Then Tate had opened a second shop, Hazel documented the whole thing. It was a big deal. Tate made all the guys (The elusive Max too) part owners. Then in this one there is no second shop, but talk of expansion. Did the authors think the readers wouldn’t remember?
I liked this one, I like the characters, but the continuity thing bugged me.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I get that these are stand alone books but if we are supposed to read them in the order of when they were published it should follow the line of what has already happened. In one of the previous books Tate has already bought another building to start a second tattoo shop that all of the guys own a piece of. How is it when Sawyer comes back it's not even been done? They are just discussing it. Who is Sawyer? Yes we know he is the other owner of St. Skin but that's about it. Why did he run and stay away for so long? Sadly this series could have been amazing but the characters have nothing to make you root for them and the guys are just unappealling. Not what you want in a hero/heroin.
Ever wonder what if? Think about the road not taken? What if that road came back? This is the story of how St. Skin came to be. Of how two people came to the road not traveled and met somewhere in the middle. This is Sawyer and Kate's story. A story about meeting your past and making peace with it. It's a story of love and redemption. Of heartbreak and loss. Of losing yourself and finding yourself too. Give Kate and Sawyer's story a chance, you'll be glad you did.
Wow! Our last road was another phenomenal book in the St. Skin series! This time we meet Saint himself. Kate has been through so much since Saint left town. They come together again and get a real second chance. Plus we see all our favorites! I was excited for this one to come out and it didn’t not disappoint! I highly recommend it! If you haven’t read any of the St. Skin series... you lucky bitch! You better get started! They take you on a emotional roller coasters do leave you wanting more of them!
Sawyer came back for Kate and his business, that he let jealousy drive him away from the two most important things to him, he couldn't even begin to understand why. But to find his Kate with a four year old little boy ,he just couldn't begin to wrap his head around it. will Sawyer think he is the father or will he assume it's Tate's, his business partner and best friend. Is Sawyer's love strong enough for the answer. get your copy today and find out. I loved this book, it was very moving and pulls at your heart strings.
Out Last Road... Wow.. talk about book boyfriend material... Sawyer aka Saint is the Male lead. He is the other half of St. Skin, he has been gone for years, but he back to help with his business and get the love of his life back which is Kate. She is the leading lady, I love the her attitude, strength and the way she loved. Sawyer is the Ulitimate bad boy but he has a sweet side that will melt your heart. So if you haven't read any of the other St. Skins you need to read this one. Happy Reading!!!
Another fabulous St Skin family story from Jaxson and London. Our Last Road was filled with anger tension hate love twists and turns you had to stop and take a breath. I lived the story of Sawyer & Kate lived meeting up with the St Skin boys so much that I'm going to 're read the other books. Wonderful story telling as always by these 2 amazing writers. I'm hoping that Tate & Prick get thier own story. Congrulations to you both on another *5 book may it soar to the top of the charts.
