Clare is subtitled as "a supernatural thriller" and it certainly lives up to that. Conover takes us into the world and perceptions of a child who has the ability to see and sense spiritual beings as well as the good and evil essence of others. When she reacts to an unhealthy quality in the school popular school principal she is immediately labeled and marginalized. At an early age she learns that must hide her gifts until, when in college, she meets Gerry who is similarly gifted. They form a deep bond which helps them navigate a world which does not understand their realities. They marry. Gerry becomes a doctor, a medical intuitive and healer. Clare runs her own greenhouse business. Without revealing too much of the plot, I can say that the story takes many turns as the epic battle between good and evil seesaws back and forth, both in Clare's inner life and the outer world. The story is complete with "wisdom figures" who help Clare regain her direction in life and understand how she is to use her gifts. We are shown evil as a concrete force, not the cartoon imp so often used to portray it. I recommend Clare to anyone who enjoys a good mystery, a good plot and an unsettling glimpse into the darkness of malice and its source. Great read!

Awesome history.

I love it. It's a very different history from the war between good vs. Evil. Clare wow she's amazing after all the hard events she goes through, she is still standing against Perditus Odium a demon of destruction who took her husband and parents in the same day. The creator sends Michael to protect Clare so she can help Susan to save her soul and did in pace.
I love it. This is a refreshing book and makes you reinforce your faith and believe that you are never alone, and never stop praying because you don't know what's is lurking in the shadows.

frightful

The story was painful to read. Scary that there might be entities hanging around out there. Confusing at times, needed to be proof read better.
