Rate this book
Dr. Casey MacMillan teaches about love and loss, yet has carefully constructed her life to distance herself from pain. Her world unravels when a woman from her past enters into a love affair with Galean, her close friend. Fearing both the consequences of this new relationship and the sting of her unrequited feelings for Galean, she flees to Ireland. There, far from all that is familiar, she begins a search for clarity and discovers that she must revisit everything she believes in life in order to finally arrive at the truth. Renewed, she emerges from her exile, but an unexpected turn of events leads her to consider a bold move, a risk that will change the course of her life. Casey must face her deepest fears and decide if she’s ready to love and be loved—not just on the page, but in real life.

I really enjoyed this book! I was not so sure what to expect when I first started out and then it jumped ahead. I really liked the main character, Casey and felt that she portrayed many women out there, those who fear to go for their dreams, and then those who do and their entire world changes... I read this book in just a few days. The story and background of the characters was excellent. I won this as a goodreads giveaway and I am grateful for the opportunity to read it!

Excellent! This is a heartfelt story that explores the intricacies of love and loss in a most compelling manner. The narrative moves between academic worlds in southern Ontario and Ireland, descriptions of which transport the reader. Engaging characters and surprising plot twists make this a read I could not put down. In my opinion, Milree Latimer is a force to be reckoned with in the writing world and I eagerly await her next novel.

I received this book through a Goodreads give away. This book is about love, loss, friendship and more. For the first part of this book I really hated the writing style. It felt like it was two different authors writing. It ended up being a good book though. The ending was was good.
