This was recommended to me as a romance featuring an older couple. It was nice. The dragon persona's were still adolescent, which I found distracting. A charming short story with a little tension and a lot of family.

Pearl's Dragon

I really enjoyed Pearl's Dragon. It just goes to show that you're never to old to fine true love. I absolutely love the stories with the dragonlings. They are too smart for their own good. A very good series!! I highly recommend it.

It's been awhile since I was in the universe of Valdier. This story is about two of the little dragonlings, Pearl and her new love. Pearl meets her match and love after coming to Valdier with her granddaughters in previous books. Mischief and mayhem ensues.

A short story, but have Pearl a chance at love! Her skills, and boldness, and humor are very much the center of this book.

ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL!!!
Title: Pearl's Dragon
Series: Dragon Lords of Valdier
Author: S.E. Smith
Designation: Book 10 of Series, Novella, Can Be Read As Standalone, No Cliffhanger #sciencefiction #romance #action #adventure #alienshifters #truemates
My Rating: Five Delightfully Entertaining Stars*****
Oh my! I love, love, love Pearl's Dragon! Actually, I adore the entire Dragon Lords of Valdier series and have been a Smith fan for years. I read this story last year in the Pets In Space 2 Anthology and loved it so much that I purchased it separately to add to my collection and to sweeten the deal, Smith included a bonus short story featuring our favorite little Dragonling mischief makers! It's just so darn cute! I never tire of reading the adventures, or I should say the misadventures, of the Reykill alien dragon shifter brothers, their human mates, children, family, and friends. Each of the books can be read as a standalone but so much more fun when read in order of release. I highly recommend the entire series. If you enjoy well crafted, fast-paced, and highly entertaining science fiction romance filled to the brim with perilous danger, nail-biting drama, pulse-pounding action, high-octane adventure, laugh-out-loud humor, swoonworthy heroes, feisty heroines, sweet romance, and enough steam to power a locomotive, then this entire series is for you. Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! And adored Pearl and Asim! Was it perfect? No, but it was perfect for me! There were a few little boo-boos, but nothing that distracted me from the story. Would I recommend it? You bet, and I am but only for adult readers since this one does contain explicit language and sex. Pearl is one plucky, hot grandma! And if you love Pearl, you'll also love her two granddaughters Riley and Tina. You can read about Riley in Choosing Riley and Tina in Viper's Defiant Mate in the Sarafin Warriors spinoff series. The Sarafin Warriors are an alien race of big cat shifters and just as outrageously funny as the Dragonshifters from Valdier. Will I read this author again? Absolutely! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read! Keep 'em coming S.E. Smith and I'll keep reading!

PEARL’S DRAGON
Ms Smith has spoilt her readers by including a bonus book about the mischievous, trouble finding, Dragonlings as well.
I own and have read both these books before. I first read Pearl’s Dragon in the PETS IN SPACE 2 anthology where I found it enjoyable if not my favourite. The Great Easter Bunny Hunt was a gift from Ms Smith via her newsletter.
Rereading these both again I have to admire how Ms Smith makes nonsense and whimsy into a great tale.
Nice change to once again have a mature couple be the focus in a story.
Pearl is the grandma you will either absolutely love and wish you had or hate to admit to being related too.
She is a no nonsense, school of hard knocks lady. She raised Riley and Tina basically on her own whilst running a bar and did a fantastic job.
I love her outlook on life and found her softness with Asim wonderful.
Asim is a retired warrior. He spends his time in the mountain home of Mandra and Ariel looking after their house and the animals Ariel and their son Jabir collects.
When he finally finds his mate in the human woman Pearl, his dragon and symbiot waste no time kidnapping her and flying back to his mountain home. So funny how his dragon and symbiot misbehave.
What follows is a good easy read with a bit of action when baddies try to steal the animals, to keep us fans happy.
Follow Pearl’s rules and you will do okay.
BONUS STORY - THE GREAT EASTER BUNNY HUNT
Laugh out loud at the silliness and pure humour of this story. Once again the children steal the show with their antics and savvy knowhow. It is lovely to spend more time with everyone and see them growing, changing and moving on with their lives.

A phenomenally "AWESOME" book just like all the other books in this series.....The Dragon Lords of Valdier. Extremely well written book(s) full of descriptive settings of alien planets, all kinds of alien life and outer space etc. Not to mention uproariously hilarious humor 😂!! And the best part......the HOT 🔥HOT 🔥 HOT 🔥alpha male aliens and sex scenes, romance and HEA's!! This is a book that I did not want to put down and the same goes for the other books in the series! Pearl's Dragon is about Pearl, who is an older (human)woman, fiercely independent and a grandmother, and Asim, an older dragon warrior who has pretty much given up on finding his mate! But fate and the Goddess have other plans and when Asim's dragon senses his mate, who happens to be Pearl, things get "quite" interesting!!!! Who says 💘 love 💘 is only for the young?? This story shows that you're "never" too old to find love and the person, or rather Dragon, of your dreams! 😊

I decided a while ago that S.E. Smith's writing was not a good fit for me, I like my h's with more backbone and more spirit and my H's more respectful. That said I could not resist this books storyline, the fact that the Pearl was a mature woman really interested me and I had to buy the book, hoping that being older she would not put up with any of the rubbish the other h's had.
I was right, Pearl is perfect, I love her and I love this story, and even better is that Asim is the perfect Hero, he accepted that she was his partner in all things, he loved her for her strength, admired her sass and adored her smart mouth.
If I could have one wish, I would wish that this type of heroine was the norm and not the exception.

Pearl's Dragon

Another fantastic book in the Dragon Lords of Valdier. Pearl is content now that her granddaughters have found their happy ever after. Even though it is on another planet with men that shapeshift. Never dreaming at her age there was a mate for her. Asim had finally came to the conclusion he was going to die alone. Never finding his mate has left his symbiot and his dragon struggling. Just as he decided to give up his mate shows up.
Plenty of laughs and romance.
Also bonus book with the whole crew and the Easter bunny.

About time Pearl had her own happily ever after...... Just goes to show that your never to old for love. Pearls character has always made me laugh and cringe a little at some of her antics. But she's a strong female character and this book shows you just how strong she can be. I loved this story from start to finish and can't wait to see what Pearl has in store for us in the future.

Yes I would recommend it but that because S.E. Smith is an awesome author and I haven't read a book of hers I don't like.

I have long been wanting to see Pearl meet her special someone. He's here at last. I love Pearl's rules for living! Watching her put them to use...excellent! I love Pearl’s strength, her wise advice, the way she handles ‘outlandish’ situations. This is such a delightful story! Pearl is one-of-a-kind. As strong as he is, Asim never minds sharing the lead. He gives Pearl the credit she deserves. This is quite an adventure; never a dull moment!

It was a funny entertaining story.
And I will have to read now all the younglings stories to catch up with all the kids in this one.
I’m happy to see Pearl has found her true mate, and I love she has her own happily ever ending.
And it is a good way to introduce the next book in the series about the original twins dragons.
The second short story fills the gasp between the second part of Pearl’s story.
It was just hilarious to see those big bad boys running from kids and eggs.

I love this series. Pearl is exactly like she has come across in previous books. Strong, independent, and funny. She does not have the time or the energy to deal with annoying who breaks her rules. There were times where I cackled out loud because she was not playing any games. I also loved Asim and how he accepted Pearl and did not try to change her. I loved seeing them interact with the kids and I would like to see more Pearl.

I Love Pearl

Dragon Lords of Valdier is one of my favorite series. Pearl is a gun toting shoot from her hip middle aged woman. The kind of woman you want at your back of you have troubles. This is her story, her love story, her turn to become a Dragon shifter on Valdier. It is a great story.

Pearl's Dragon

It may be a re-release of a book; but personally, I like to find the book I want without having to find the anthology. Pearl's is quicker to find than trying to remember what pet anthology book to look in. I have purchased both and consider it money well spent on another hilarious adventure.

MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS

Another holiday story with the Dragonlings and their parents trying to explain the holiday and how it is celebrated. Another story about the parents trying to translate an Earth holiday into the Valdierian language. The little ones are very much able to hand!e what may come.

I love this series. I did expect Pearl to be more... hardcore? It seemed a little soft after the way she really gave it to the boys that wanted her granddaughters LOL... This one is told in flash back, almost like a prequel to the Twin Dragons Destiny. It's a nice quick read.
