Three months ago, I was standing in the pouring rain, reading my best friend's sorry, but I can't make it text, looking for some way to salvage my birthday. And he was there. Nick. The tall, handsome stranger in a three piece suit. He offered me his coat. He invited me to his room. He possessed all of me: heart, body, soul, then, in the morning, he was gone.
For three months, memories of him lingered in my mind. The earthy cologne. The rough brush of his stubble. The low, deep groan as he buried himself in me.
For three months, my heart ached for another chance to whisper promises in his ears.
Yesterday, I interviewed for an internship I need desperately.
Today, my new boss called me into his office. And there was Nick, in his three piece suit.
His dark eyes fixed on mine as he dragged out his words. "Ms. Wilder, is there anything you need?"
My dirty boss wants me. But he has rules about this kind of thing.
I have to choose: the job that keeps me with my family or the man who holds the key to my heart.
*A full length standalone romance with a cocky alpha hero and a strong yet vulnerable heroine*
Crystal Kaswell is the author of the Sinful Serenade series. She writes steamy new adult romance with flawed characters. She loves police procedurals, tea, and The Hunger Games series. She lives in Portland, OR with her husband.
Dirty Boss is a milder version of FSOG. I guess this book is written long time ago. I just picked it up because it is on discount price. I read Miss Kaswell books before and sadly Dirty Boss does not live up to my expectation.
I still do enjoy the sexy steamy mild BDSM. But not much on character developments. And the plot seems very flat.
Nick & Lizzy have a chance meeting in San Francisco & it turns out to be a memorable evening of very satisfying sex. Three months later Lizzy finds herself sitting in Nick's office waiting to be interviewed for a programming internship she will be getting college credit for. Nick runs one of the most promising virtual AI companies in the country. He is all about control in all aspects of his life & his world is built on his rules. There are no exceptions. Lizzy wonders if the night in San Francisco will be remember when he starts to interview her. Lizzy gets the internship but is told it is a job & nothing else. Nick's rules do not allow him to mix work & pleasure. But Lizzy is determined & finds a way to spend time with Nick one on one & before long they are unable to stay away from one another. Both Lizzy & Nick are survivors of trauma they experienced when they were younger. They face some impossible odds trying to learn how to deal with each other's past & to move forward.
This is a amazing love story about learning to trust another with your fears & secrets. The story is written well & very believable. It was easy to root for Lizzy & Nick to find their HEA. The story deals with some childhood sexual abuse that could be a trigger for some. Read with caution. I would recommend this book to anyone who is able to deal with reading about such events.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Readers Copy of this book.
God save me from teenage “heroines”. Ya know, the #metoo movement goes both ways right? We met Lizzy as a bratty high school senior and now she has her own book as a bratty college freshman. Who in their right mind thinks a nineteen year old could pull off half the stuff this entitled child did? You wasted a perfectly good male lead character on a child. If there was any sexual harassment going on in this book it was Lizzy. She begged for sex, stalked and stripped off her clothes to get Nick’s attention. This author also dragged out so many chapters of just sex beware of getting a UTI just reading this book.

Well Crystal Kaswell does it again! This was a wonderful book to read. It was like 50 Shades of Grey except for it was way MORE INTENSE. You get a bit of everything in this book so be prepared.
Elizabeth "Lizzy" Wilder is a strong minded, go-getter, smart and sassy who just happens to meet Phoenix "Nick" Marlowe who is brooding, gorgeous, smart and freaking rich. These two just happen to meet by chance and have a sizzling time. Lizzy never thought she would ever meet Nick again til he shows up at her intern interview. Well it just gets crazier from their. Lizzy is normally not an outgoing person due to the traumatic events that happened to her when she was younger. Then there is Nick, who has had a tough upbringing, brooding AND HAS TO CONTROL HIS PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL LIFE AT ALL TIMES. So... Lizzy takes the internship with Nicks company and IT GETS HOT AND STEAMY. Nick likes to control everything and does not give in to Lizzy's request. She wants him more and more when she is around him. She likes to be controlled by him and wants more. This book is more from Lizzy's point of view and you really have no idea what is going on in Nicks head. So when Lizzy is given a deal from Nicks brother, does she do it to save Nick. Does Nick realize that he wants more from Lizzy? Will there be a happily ever after? You will just need to read the book to find out.
Phoenix Marlowe and Lizzy Wilder had a one night stand back in September. They happened to meet again when Lizzy is interviewing to be an intern at his company, Odyssey Industries. In order for her to get the job, he wants her to ignore that night back in September and pretend like they are just meeting and that they are only working together.
Normally, I love Crystal Kaswell's books. This one was hot, but I found that I really disliked the hero of the story. He was hot and then he was cold and I really disliked how he was meant to be this strong character but to me, he was more of an emotional split personality. The character just was annoying. I understand that he has issues from the past, don't we all? Lizzy also had her character flaws. She agreed to something and immediately decided that she was going to do the opposite. She was pushing back after she said that she wouldn't. It was just too difficult for me to like the hero and because of that, I couldn't lose myself in the story like I normally would do.
The story definitely had its hot moments like you are expecting in this this type of book, but for me, the heat doesn't override the issues that I had with the characters.
I received an advanced copy of this manuscript and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I like the concept of the story but I struggled to finish the book. I cannot figure out why I did not like it was a combination of repeat of Kat and Blake's song, and though Lizzy met Blake before she went to college when Kat and Blake were pretending to be getting married for his mother. I finished the book but there was alot of pages that i completely skipped like the sexual ones or start of them. I read Dirty Deal the same day but this book took me 2 days.
This was a good read. Lizzy gets an internship and she runs into the man she had a one night stand with. He tries to stay away since she is only 19. However, we know how these books go. No matter how hard they try they just can't stay away. Luckily for Lizzy she got a HEA just like her sister did in Dirty Deal.
I really liked this steamy read. Nick and Lizzy had a hot one-night stand and a few months later he ends up being her boss. Nick has strict rules about keeping work and his personal life separate, will he break his own rules? Fast-paced read with great chemistry. I liked it.
Stopped at 38%. The story reminded me of 50 Shades. I didn't care for the female lead and the more childish things she did, the less I liked her. So I'm out.
Dirty Boss is a great steamy listen. Nick and Lizzy had a chance encounter months ago that was fully of passion, but little did they know that their paths would cross again when Lizzy applies for a job and winds up working for Nick. Nick is determined to keep it professional, but quickly gives in because Lizzy is magnetic, and their connection is just too strong. And for Nick, Lizzy is the balm that he needs.
Nick and Lizzy have both had past traumas in their lives, and opening up and getting past them is difficult. But in each other they find the bravery and openness that they need to heal. I like that they connect on an emotional level as well as the physical level. Virginia Rose does a great job narrating, and voicing their vulnerability and hurt along the way.
Lizzie while having a crappy birthday meets Nick and the two of them have a one-night stand. She doesn't think that she will ever see him again but a few months later when she moves to New York for an internship Nick ends up being her boss. Nick has strict rules about keeping his professional and personal life separate. This book was really good I loved how Lizzie teased and challenged Nick and didn't back down from what she wanted. Lizzie's character was less naive and in my opinion stronger than her sister. At times my heart broke for her and Nick and both their past traumas that they had to overcome.

Dnf at 14% they had one night and she’s acting like he’s everything and she can’t seem to grasp that he’s trying to keep it professional, she just has a constant thought stream of “why won’t you love me?”
Dirty Boss (Dirty Rich Series book 2) by Crystal Kaswell is the follow up from Dirty Deal, that’s where I became completely captivated with Lizzy. Throughout Kat’s book, she was sassy and full of attitude and sarcasm. In Dirty Boss, she’s still just as sassy, full of attitude and sarcasm, but also witty and flirty. This book, through Lizzy’s POV, is just as enthralling and captivating as anything that this writer has published. Every word, whether Lizzy’s thoughts, feelings, experience or dialogue is meaningful and descriptive or teasing and sensual. I love this author’s skills at building her character’s stories and tension, emotional connections. Even the single POV tells the reader all that’s needed to know. I found that I fell for Nick just as Lizzy did. This Dirty Boss, is so dirty in such a good way. And the two of them together is just about as hot as you can get. Nick must have control and must have it at all times. His need fuels the tension and anticipation of this book and kept me turning the pages for all of their interactions. I absolutely adore how this wounded alpha has a heart and shares his sweet side with Lizzy. The same could be said for Lizzy too as she is wounded in her own way and often hides her sweet side from everyone. Clearly, Lizzy and Nick bring out the best in each other. Overall, a very well written romance with wonderful characters who are both wounded and in need of someone to love and care about them. There’s lots of steam (both gritty and raw as well as sweet moments too), emotions, witty banter in the dialogue and intrigue in the plot keeping the reader fully engaged from the first word. A really great read that certainly did not disappoint. I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
Dirty Boss is about a chance encounter between two strangers and a night of passion. Never to be repeated, but fate has other ideas.
Nick is joint owner and CEO of a multi billion tech enterprise. He lives for his work. He has flings. No relationships.
Lizzy is a computer science student who excels in artificial intelligence. Her sister is her best friend and only family.
When Lizzy gets the opportunity of an internship in a reputable computer company, she jumps at the chance for it means that she can move closer to her sister. She is surprised and embarrassed when she meets Nick. The boss and the same stranger she spent her birthday with. Obviously, they remember that night, but Nick has rules. No fraternersing with employees, especially interns. Even though he can barely take his eyes off her, he makes it clear that, that night never happened. Good luck with that!
He is impressed by Lizzy's skills and becomes her mentor and as much as they try to keep their hands from each other, it doesn't quite work out. What starts as a casual off work affair soon starts to become a little too real. An unexpected turn of event threatens what could turn into something permanent and tears them apart. Can they come back from this unpredictable and cruel situation?
Nick's need of control stems from some terrible ordeals which occurred in his teens. Lizzy has a phobia as a result of her accident. It's an erotic romance where both main characters have demons and somehow manage to help each other. It's an emotional read with family conflicts. The sex scenes are explicit. It would appeal to fans of erotic romance with a dominant alpha and an equally strong female lead.
I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

How I love Crystal's work & Dirty Boss was just as great as Dirty Deal where we first met Lizzie & she's a strength to be reckoned with especially as a 19 yrs old & what she had gone through. But heck Nick is SO HOT, charismatic well to & for Lizzie he is, even on that first meeting they met in an off chance in San Francisco, whilst she's there for college & he's there for a meeting. Then it's when we jump a few months ahead where Lizzie has been accepted for an internship for this amazing programmer whom she looks up to, but heck they both had a shock not knowing Lizzie as the name she used & Nick not Phoenix. So here we see even though you would expect them to not recognise each other as it was a 1 night stand, so we know from then on there's something tosses 2 have. We jump into their lives really quickly, staying off really Lizzie being the instigator by wanting him to mentor her, then showing little signs she wants him & Nick we sees doesn't hold back though he well both did say it'll be only the once. But heck if you've got that connection with your Soulmate NOTHING can stop the connection ESPECIALLY if the sex is out of this world, so I tell you, best have something to cool you down or maybe something to release the temperature around you. Yes it's as HOT as well as pensive with both their different inner 'demons' completely different ones where it pulls the heart strings.
Nick (Phoenix) Marlowe, a dominant, broken-souled man with the tendency to hide behind the walls of intelligence and wealth meets his match in his newest intern Elizabeth Wilder. She has the brains to match his coding skills and talk shop all day, the beauty and wit to keep him grasping for the control that he needs, may not be the best with coy come on's.Never the less the two of them are combustible forces of stubborn nature set to take over the AI world if they would get out of their own way.
OoOoOh! Emotions were running high in the Dirty boss! The characters in this one, I swear, I felt like they spoke to me! * not out loud, or anything < clears throat > * They had such a strong presence. From the very beginning, I felt immersed in the story and following along with both of these characters; I had highs and lows with their tug of war. The sexual tension between them, good grief, pretty sure the author should put a warning in the header of a chapter or two! This maddening, high-octane heat unbreak my heart romance had a fast moving, well flowing style, it was easy for me to keep reading without even thought of putting it down! A yummy, take me out of reality mini-vacation, I cannot wait to revisit! This book and Dirty Deal are worth checking out!
Intense from beginning to end I loved this very intense and very hot story, with BDSM scenes (not too hard) for two people who should not have met a second time. He is domineering, but by necessity (and we learn all along the story), as for her, she submits, but to have a link with him, without knowing why at the beginning. The story is very well written and the characters are excellent, passionate and convinced that they will never be together and that they can't be together. Gently, their relationship teaches them to trust each other, to confide in each other. Lizzy, a computer science student, is depressed and alone on the night of her birthday and she meets in San Francisco, Nick who spends the evening chatting with her, and finally they sleep together while he asks for some submission, what Lizzy accepts, attracted by this man, and sure that she will never see him again. 4 months later, she is very motivated for a job in New York as a intern and discovers that Nick is actually the boss of this company. Each denies the attraction they experience, and tries to keep a professional side , until it is no longer bearable, and they must find a happy medium between a hook up and a relationship based on trust, especially that at the same time, Nick's business is all for him and is under attack. I received Dirty Boss as an ARC for an honest review.....
I was hooked from page 1. Elizabeth aka Lizzy a girl who was trying to get in her feet after losing her parents and having her sister take care of her. She's beautiful and smart but a little lost in the world.... Phoenix aka Nick a handsome, rich CEO. He's a smart tech person who is glued to the job. One night in San Francisco they meet and have a great connection and a very hot and sexy rendez-vous in a hotel room. Months later Lizzy applies for an internship .... when the CEO walks in and speaks... she knows who it is... the man she hasn't stopped thinking about. So begins the whirlwind story of Lizzy and Nick. There's some much sexual tension and knowing it's taboo heightens the feelings. She baits and he tries to do the right thing.... working closely can bring 2 people together, how close....read to find out
The storyline is great and characters are wonderful and developed has they should be. This book has anger, lust, love, unhappiness, happiness, family, friendships, hot steamy and sexy times and an oh wtf moment. I do wish we could read some scenes in Nick's POV....
Book was a exceptionally well written. Very addictive read, highly recommended!!!
Nick is a workaholic and very controlling in every aspect of his life. Lizzy is a talented programmer wanting to be closer to her sister. Nick and Lizzy met in another state and shared a hot night of passion together. Neither expected to see the other again. So to say they were both shocked to se each other when Lizzy went for a job interview and Nick was her boss is an understatement. Thinking she lost out on the job Lizzy goes out with a friend to a club and is surprised when Nick shows up to convince her to take the job. Giving in she starts working for him the following week. The sparks fly around them whenever they are together. When they start seeing each other they keep it a secret because of one obstacle and its that obstacle the ends up splitting them up. Can Nick convince Lizzy that she is more important to him than work?
This was an amazing story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The characters have sizzling hot chemistry and it just about melted my kindle. If you haven't read anything by this author then grab this book you won't regret it.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. I enjoyed it so much I bought my own copy of it.
When Lizzy was 15 she was in a car accident with her parents and she was the only one to survive. After that it was just her and her 18 year old sister Kat (from the 1st book). Now Lizzy is in college and looking to get an intern position with tech company owned by Nick Marlowe ... but when she meets him, she realizes she had a one night stand with him 3 months earlier. Lizzy still sees sparks when she looks at Nick, but all he wants is the physical release with her because his company is his life.
I liked both the main characters and the sex scenes are hot ... and I even hate to say this, but ... there were too many of them and I think it took away from the story. I also found it too similar to the 1st book ... exactly the same type of guy (a hunky billionaire who wants to have control in and out of the bedroom but doesn’t want a relationship). I can see the sisters being similar ... but what are the chances of them finding and falling for the same type of guy? I think if I hadn’t read the 1st book, I would have enjoyed this book more.
I graciously received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for a honest review.
Lizzy met Nick in San Francisco and had a hot one night stand. Fast forward a few months, and it turns out Nick is her new boss and is a tech titan. She needs this internship to stay in NYC with her sister and she has to convince Nick to let her stay on, going against his ethics of not dating the staff. Unsurprisingly (smirk) they come to a different arrangement - work and sex can happen, just with clear cut rules and no expectations.
Overall, I enjoyed this book a lot. Lizzy was written very accurately for her age - annoyingly so sometimes. She isn't 21 yet, so she was using fake IDs to get drinks. (Not my usual go to, but Nick was only 27 in comparison.) Nick needs control, but I liked how he also had a warm side to him, so that I believed his intentions later in the book. I'm new to this author so I would love to see if Lizzy's sister and her fiance had a book written about them!
If you love kinky billionaires, this is the book for you. Seriously hot scenes, and there are plenty of them! If you have read a lot of these kinds of erotic romances, there won't be anything new here, but it's still a fun, sexy read. If you are new to this genre, enjoy!
Genre: Romance - Forbidden, Billionaire Standalone: Yes Part of a Series: Yes Book 2 of the Dirty Rich series POV: Lizzy Steam Level: Kindle-melting hot 5/5
Dirty Boss is sexy, sweet, and sensual. The story was well-written and I had a hard time putting it down. Dirty Boss had tropes similar to other books but so much better. I like where Crystal Kaswell placed the one-stand stand in the book. It made it so much more intense.
This is the third book I've read by Crystal Kaswell and with each book I get more and more impressed with her ability to write characters that are unique, flawed, and likeable. Lizzy's fears are palpable and her worldview understandable with what she has experienced. Her wit and dark sense of humor are a wonderful addition to the story. The control that Nick expects is what they both need. I loved seeing both of them grow and learn to trust each other throughout.
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. I liked it so much I ended up buying it. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Lizzy and Nick are great together sizzling heat, passion and the ability to be themselves with each other. Nick with his work responsibilities and control issues and Lizzy with her live in the moment outlook and outspokenness make for a fun and unpredictable arrangement. They each have events in their past that are difficult to overcome but, they eventually support and help each other heal as their arrangement becomes a relationship.
This is a beautiful story about life, love, sacrifice and forgiveness. Their are moments that are seduction and sexy and their are moments that are sweet and romantic. What is fun is that as these two characters try so hard not to become invested in the other that they fall in love. This is a really good story that hits all the right notes and has you cheering for Lizzy and Nick and their happy ending.
I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.
I’m a little bit baffled by my reactions to this book. Much like with her sister’s story, I wasn’t able to connect with Lizzy and Nick in the way I like best. I think the main reason I didn’t connect with Nick was the first-person viewpoint and not knowing what he was thinking. The disconnect with Lizzie seemed to be because she kept everyone (except Kat) out after the accident. Her character is so well-written that it felt like that wall was there to the reader too. But I was completely captivated by their story. All the little twists and turns in their lives had me madly flipping pages to find out what would happen next and how it could possibly all work out for the best. I loved seeing them get real and vulnerable with one another. I also really enjoyed this chance to see a little bit more of Kat and Blake’s happily ever after. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Hidden Gems Books.
I first met Lizzy in her sister Kat's book, I'm so glad she got her own story. She's smart and sassy but also vulnerable while trying to be strong. I instantly liked her. Nick is... well he's Nick! He's exactly what Lizzy needs. They have their issues and demons, it's interesting to see where they take each other in terms of facing those. I loved the story, its sexy and fun and it totally pulled at my heartstrings. If you haven't read Kat's book, I highly recommend you do. This one is a standalone but there will be spoilers if you haven't read it. I'm a big fan of Crystal and how she brings such depth to her characters. This book is no exception.
I received an advanced copy of this manuscript and am voluntarily leaving an honest review. As always with books I enjoy, I did purchase this one after as I know I'll be reading it again!
I'm a huge fan of Crystal Kaswell. Her writing is focused, clear, and captivating. I love Lizzy and Phoenix and the journey of healing they took independently and together to find their HEA. At first, I thought Lizzy was a little young but because of circumstance, she's emotionally much ahead of her time. Phoenix wants and tries to do what he thinks is right but has a hard time knowing for sure what that is. Lizzy is witty, smart, and ready to do anything for those she loves. The chemistry is wow and the steam is panty melting. This is the perfect ending to the story of Kat and Lizzy, sisters and forever best friends.
I received an arc copy of this book. This is my honest, voluntary, and true opinion.
What can I say, This follows on from Kat and Blake's story and is about her younger sister Lizzie. Kat gave up her future to make sure Lizzie has the best in life after the loss of their parents in a car accident and nearly losing Lizzie too shes very over protective and parental. Nick and Lizzie's story starts as a one night fling, then Lizzie gets an interview for a job working in A.I. with the best programmer in New York (or silicone valley!) Phoenix is everything a girl could want, panty melting hot and hot between the sheets too, and hes also Nick! This book is a rewrite of the previous book The Billionaires Control and is a fab hot read and deffo recommended!! I have read all of Crystal Kaswell's books and she never fails to drag you into the book! Again loved it!!
3.5 I never leave reviews but I have to say this book strongly reminds me of a certain popular BDSM trilogy that’s hot right now. But this book is so much better. I love Crystal Kaswell mostly bc her books always have great dialogue. And it takes up a big part of her books. We have a front row seat to the action. The heroine Lizzy is one of my favorites and her personality is spunky, witty and strong. The hero is legitimately troubled and it took a bit for him to grow on me but once he showed vulnerability I loved him. There are lots of steamy scenes and mutual respect between the leads. It’s what a good BDSM book should be. The connection to the popular book series makes this feel unoriginal. That’s all that’s stopping me from rating this book higher.
