New York Times and USA Today bestselling author A.C. James writes paranormal romance and erotica, including Eternal Ever After (rebranded as Eternal Lover), featured in the bestselling Spice Box anthology. She resides in the Philadelphia suburbs with her adoring husband Ron (aka Mr. A.C. James), who loves her imaginative yarns and punny sense of humor. She’s also a domestic violence advocate and discusses intimate partner violence and addiction to raise awareness on social media and through her writing. Many of her books include themes like alcoholism or addiction. If you love books that feature underdogs and redemption, her stories will capture your heart.

She spends most of her time drinking large vats of coffee while wrangling kids by day and writing by night. Recovering video game beta tester and tech geek who grew up going to cons and watching SmackDown. There’s probably some cosplay pictures around somewhere of her dressed up as Bloodberry from Saber Marionette J. Just don’t tell anyone.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. If you’ve read the previous episodes in this series, you know that a lot can happen in a short story. This latest series is no different. Niall’s headstrong sister Maelíosa who tried to get out of mating by agreeing to work in The Stables by her father, Chieftain Fallon, gets pushed into this arrangement to her chagrin. Somehow finds herself face-to-face with the man who would become her mate—Sage, a cancer-stricken single father. This story was sweet, fast, and had its elements of hotness and family. All of the characters from the first two Episodes were there as well.

This is defiantly a book I would not recommend for a standalone. I think to help you get a better understanding of what is going on you truly need to start from the beginning, but trust me when I say you will not be disappoint for A.C. does an amazing job.

I had been waiting to see a different side of Maeliosa. In the previous books she had a hard edge to her. We saw this girl who was hurting and maybe a slight bitterness over what she could of been forced to do. Maeliosa was a very independent person. She was strong willed and some what tomboyish. She did not care to speak her mind and I almost think the other Púca were a little intimidated by her.

In this book we get to see a sight gentler side of her and I say that because of the compassion we see from her in this book. It was plain to see that she truly had a good heart and truly cared for others. We did not get to see much of that in previous books so it truly was great to see.

It was cool in this book there was a mating lottery so to speak and who better to be in the middle of it then Maeliosa herself. I am sure her mouth was watering when she laid eyes on Sage. There was just something about him but the strange thing was he was a single dad. Yip I love to read stories where there is a single dad in the story. There are times they are over looked but they are out there just like single moms.

Sage’s story was truly a sad one and my heart broke for him. He was desperate and the only thing he truly cared about was his little girl. The strength that his daughter shown was truly amazing. Sorry you will have to read the story to find out more but trust me this is a story you truly do not want to miss.

I received this book and willing wrote a review on the book. I am so happy I got to read another story in this series and can not wait to see what happens next.

Brief!

Not pleased with the brevity and lack of any substantial addition to the over all stories. To the author, I would suggest. A consolidation of episode 1 thru 8 as one really good novel and the conuatt

What is with Nathan he keeps cropping up in every episode of this series? More about Sage a little more into his history and a little from Maeliosa's point of view. Things start looking bleak and looking up for Sage.

This book was given to me in exchange of an honest review. Thank you.

OMG! If this is the conclusion to this series and this set of four books (9 being the beginning of this set) I will be so sad! This book has questions answered, a new steamy potential romance, and Nathan getting what was coming to him. This series has been both entertaining and dramatic. I am glad it has come around and brought in a male/female Puca plot line in. I love the addition of an American man and his vulnerability and child.

This series defiantly gets better as you go!

Maeliosa had a choice – work at the Stables, a mating service for Pucas, or marry a member of their clan. Totally against the mating idea, she chose the job instead. But there was a catch to that choice – she had to eventually mate with an acceptable human. That also was not something she was interested in!

While Maeliosa and her coworker were talking, a man walked in with his young daughter. Sage was an ex-Navy Seal undergoing chemo. He wanted to make sure his daughter would be cared for after his death. But the waiting period was a year and a half! He didn’t have that much time! Maeliosa went to talk to their healer, Ariel, to see if anything could be done to expedite his application. Things looked pretty bleak. Would one of their females agree to mate him, especially with the risk of his leaving them if he survived his cancer?

I am so excited to read this book! It’s a wonderful series with characters that you get to know and care for. Sage is a wonderful father, desperately trying to put his daughter in a position of safety when his cancer kills him. He has no other options. But there are rules surrounding the mating process, and great danger in circumventing those rules. I can’t wait to read the next episode to find out how this situation can be resolved. Nathan, who exposed the world of the Puca in his book, has just been kidnapped and that adventure is about to unfold as well! You will love this series! Give it a try! I voluntarily reviewed this book and my comments reflect my honest opinion.

Now the Pucas are out in the open thanks to Nathan, they are having to be more careful. They have a group Only Human trying to make trouble for them. Not everyone is against them, some are just curious and get a little close.  Maelíosa is in charge of The Stables, a mating agency for humans to apply. This is how she meets Sage and his daughter Carina. He came in to find a mate, but for reasons not for love.
Poor Sage he just wants his daughter safe and happy. He has so much sadness and so much love. Life really knew how to knock him down. But bless him no matter what his daughter is his main thoughts and why he goes to the Pucas. Good dad :) Carina is mature kid that sees more then Sage realises but she holds herself. She just wants to strong for her dad, her hero. Such a good kid.
Maelíosa takes an instant interest in both of them and the situation. You can see how much she wants to help and what she wants to do. She is still a bit weary but you can't really blame her. She has so much love to give though, she hides it and pain from her mother's death.
This is not the only thing happening though. Nope you obviously have the old gang about. Felicity and Cyn have adjusted and love life and there mates. Neither of them have forgiven Nathan or talked to him. Speaking of Nathan, he has been living off the adrenalin of his book outing the Pucas. Things aren't always as they seem though and the traitor has trouble. Tut tut.
What's going to happen next?

Ride (Episode 9) – The Stables, picks up a year after Felicity and Cyn’s former friend, Nathan, exposes the puca to the outside world. Since this has happened, the puca has created a business venture, where they basically play matchmakers between them and humans. Maeliosa agreed to help run “The Stables” in exchange for not having to mate with someone from the clan. While working, she meets Sage and his daughter. Sage needs to find a mate and soon, and Maeliosa wants to help him despite their business’ rules. Meanwhile, an organization is rising up against the pucas, and it seems they have Nathan in their sights as someone who can help.

I really like the direction this series is taking. It’s about time we see Maeliosa show a side of herself that’s not a downright b**** (lol). Sage and his background story had me hooked, and I am eager to see how things work out. Now Nathan… ugh, such a d-bag! We see how his life turns out after he exposed the puca, and I hope he somehow redeems himself (but not likely). Regardless, the intrigue of the “Only Humans” organization should bring even more excitement to the series. One thing that has kind of turned me off is the abundance of English words and phrases… that’s not to see there wasn’t any in the previous stories, but it seemed like it was laid on super thick in this story. That’s just my perception.

Regardless, I really enjoyed this story and series, and am happily looking forward to what’s next.

The Stables, can I help you? 5 GOLD MATE BONDS

there was something about the man that made him strangely appealing. Or at least, strangely immune to her scorn. WHOA BABY!! The pucas are back! The pucas are back!! THOSE SHIFTACULAR PUCAS THAT I KNOW & LOVE ARE FINALLY BACK!!! wink I have fallen (or is that Fallon?) so hard & fast for these MATERRIFIC shifters that ANY time apart is too long! I have to admit that before I was about halfway through Cyn's story (season 2) I naturally thought that this 3rd season would be Nathan's story. But after what he did, I'm glad it isn't because he doesn't deserve a HEA!! With her sarcastic, outspoken & beotch behavior that had my attention and intrigued me from the start, the chance to get to know Maelíosa is something I am very excited about!! And so far? WOW! I am surprised at just how much I am .. well, I don't want to say anymore because I don't want to accidentally say too much! Let's just say I CANNOT wait for the next part of this MAG-NEIGH-FICENT story!! A.C. is one PUCANOMENALLY talented and exceptionally gifted author!! The creativity alone is unbelievable! I had never even herd of, I mean heard of a puca before this series and now I am completely in love with them! I am so ABSO-BLOODY-LUTELY ECSTATIC that RIDE is back!! And what a helluva RIDE it is!! Now... ummm, did anyone happen to catch the number for The Stables by any chance?

When I hear about a SEAL story, I see big strong alpha. Sage is a father of an adorable old soul daughter of nine. It is for the girl he treks to The Stables, a mating service run by and for the PUCAs.

Greeted by Maeliosa, gorgeous and curvy, he dares hope his wish to provide what he and his daughter have always wanted, a family. The want has become more than a hope. Is there a chance?

The continuation of this fantastic serial, yep a great cliffhanger without a long wait for more, is touching. The new characters grab at your heart and make it beat a little faster. The revisit with old friends is always a gift to me. This one will not only touch your heart, but introduce you to some really bad guys you will love to hate. Enjoy and grab a sturdy branch on the way down waiting for the next one.

A year after the last book. The púca king's daughter Melissa now works at the clan's dating service called the stables. so the púca can all find mates
Sage is a human male with a 9 year old daughter that means the world to him. he used to be the head of a Navy seal team in North Carolina USA but now he is dieing of cancer. he might have a chance if the púca can heal him or at the very least if he mates with one his daughter would have a mom after he dies. as luck would have it he has caught the eye of Maeliosa
Nathan is in this book too. the guy who made all the trouble in the last one. funny thing is he seems to be the one in trouble now.
Lots of great storyline and truly us an entertaining read. the characters are lots of fun and the way the writer writes you feel like your in that magical part of the world.
I can't wait for the next book. but there is a cliffhanger at the end of this book.
Voluntarily reviewed and I honestly enjoyed it

SEASON THREE IS FINALLY HERE. 3.5 stars. Please note that each of the episodes are short quick reads. Definitely for 18+ due to sexual situations. Very hot and steamy. Not be read as a standalone as it ends in a cliffhanger. Read each individual episode in order.

The characters and setting are well described in the blurb for the episode and I'm not going to recap all that in my review. Please read the blurb for more info on Sage and Maeliosa and the Isle of Inis Mor.

Maeliosa is the daughter of the King of the puca clan. She has resisted, and rejected, mating with any of the male puca. Her father allowed her to start THE STABLES as long as she agreed to find a mate with a human male.  Her relationship with Sage begins when he comes to THE STABLES to find a mate and needs a compressed timeline. Will Maeliosa find a way to bend the rules for him?

Introduction to a new puca story is always wonderful, because I like the two other series written by this writer a lot.
This book is a promising start to this series.
It is great to see the two leading ladies from the other series back, Felicity and Cyn.

This story is about Maelíosa and Sage. Sage is sick and wants to mate a puca to survive cancer, not for himself but because of his young daughter Carina. Maelíosa talks to him about this and actually he doesn;t have the time it normally costs to find a puca mate, but Maelíosa feels for them.
This part is also about Nathan and his stupid book. He has been babling and making himself more important now the news of his first book is gone he said he was working on book 2, but he isn't. But people do believe he is writing a second book which gets him into trouble.

Looking forward to read more in this series

Ride: The Stables: BBW Paranormal Shape Shifter Romance (Puca Mates Book Nine)
By: A.C. James
5 out of 5 stars

The story Ride: The Stables: BBW Paranormal Shape Shifter Romance (Puca Mates Book Nine) by A.C. James is supernatural/thriller/mystery book. Sage is an ex-navy seal and a single father. He has very little time and so the trip to The Stables is his last hope. He is greeted by Maeliosa. Now he is hoping for love, a mate and a home for him and his daughter.

This is a great addition to the Puca Mates series. Not only are the Puca trying to adjust too many changes in their lives, they now have humans seeking them out. Events seem to happen fast and can creep up on anyone, at anytime. I recommend purchasing and start reading the beginning of the next part of this series. You won’t regret any time you spend reading this book. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Great new characters in Sage ( a Navy SEAL with cancer ) and Carina his daughter who is looking to mate with a Puca as a possible way to cure Sage's cancer and if not have a stable home with his new wife for Carina if the cancer can't be cured . Maeliosa is intrigued with Sage and Carina, so she does tge unthinkable for herself, she pushes his oaoerwork forward ..... and you'll have to read this short story to find out what she does !! But it's a doozy, even for her !! This is a must read in order seriers to understand and and enjoy each individual "short story". Live how AC James mingles old and new characters and makes you want to know NOW , what's going to happen next, cliffhanger x's 2 !!! Can't wait for book 10 !! I recieved a gifted copy and am voluntarily choosing to leave an honest and unbiased review. 4⭐️'s .

Pony up, let's ride again.

This review is from: Ride: The Stables: BBW Paranormal Shape Shifter Romance (Puca Mates Book Nine) (Kindle Edition)
So glad we are riding again. I have missed my pucas. This is a wonderful beginning to a new part of the series. The princess does have a heart and perhaps it will belong to Sage. This is a SHORT story with cliffhanger.

I have been waiting anxiously for Maeliosa's story, and boy does this one look like a winner. Taking a mate who has cancer, so that he can possibly be healed, and taking on his nine year old daughter as her stepmom is a big decision and comittment. But Maeliosa is attracted to him and feels sorry for him and his daughter. I love Sage's devotion to his daughter, and his attempt to secure her future in case he won't be able to be there for her. Maeliosa's and Sage's story looks like it will be a real emotional one. And that schmuck Nathan shows up again in the story. He's really screwed up his life. He will either go further down his pathway to destruction, or will finally wake up to his miserable life, change, and make amends for what he has done. We'll see.

I was so excited to read Maeliosa’s story. I absolutely loved her when she made an appearance in the previous stories. She was so sassy, strong and fiery I couldn’t wait to see what would happen to her and her aversion to mates.
This story really surprised me with how fun and caring she really is, I liked it! And I loved Sage! He was so strong and didn’t let anything get in his way.
I liked how other characters from previous books, Felicity, Cyn and Nathan (can’t wait to see what happens to him!) had little parts to play in this one as well, I liked seeing where everyone was at.
Overall a good start to Season Three of Ride!

After Nathan outed the Puca they have found an inventive way to co-habitat with humans, offering a win/win. Nathan continues his public media rants, to the point a hate group has targeted the Puca. This episode picks up a year after the ending of episode 8 and again features some happy mating, but also some bad guys stirring up trouble. We also get introduced to a few new characters that have Maeliosa acting very unlike herself. Great read with fascinating characters, just make sure you start at the beginning and do not mind the cliffs!

So if you are new to this series you want to start at book 1. These are all relatively quick to read and the storyline is truly worth following! In this episode a dying father is looking for a solution to how to ensure love and care for his child. At the end of his choices, he turns to the Stable but the process takes longer than his projected life expectancy. Be prepared to have your heart twisted. These episodes do have cliffhangers . This series would make a great television series. This voluntary review is based against an advance copy.

Maeliosa is working at the Stables, a kind of mataing agency for humans and Pucas. Sage walks in with his 9 year old daughter to fill out the paperwork for a mating. He was a navy Seal who has stage 4 cancer. He is hoping to get a mate and hopefully get healed or to give his daughter someone to take care of her if he dies. Maeliosa is touched by the man and his daughter and wants to help out but the wait time is 18 months which will be too. long.

Coming to teams
This episode has Cyn going into an interview in London, while Nathan is coming out. Cyn keeps wanting to justify his actions but he keeps proving he’s not worth it.
The tell all book Nathan wrote has caused the Puca problem making them more diligent. The vail has weakened so they started “The Stables” as a buffer. It’s a dating service of sorts for the Puca and Humans just outside the Vail.
Well written and very entertaining to read.

Yeah! A new phase to the Ride Series starts with The Stables. Sage has come to the Isle looking for help and Maeliosia is willing to give him a chance. It could be a risk after all previously nearly losing Fallon. Maeliosia was so different than the previous times we've seen her. It was a good change. Sage was a strong addition to the story. Nate is still a loopy mess too. Love this series and how beautifully it's woven.

A very interesting turn of events since the last episode.
Nathan released a book outing the Pucas even further (even if most of it is fabricated).
The Pucas setting up a dating service called The Stables so Pucas can find Mates among the influx of humans around their world.
This serial basically caught us up a little on past occurrences and introduced Sage and his daughter.
Will Sage find a mate before he has to wait the alloted time? He just doesn't have that kind of time....

Sage is an ex-Navy SEAL and single father. He's come to a The Stables to try and find his mate. He's dying of cancer and he's the only family his daughter has. Her mother is as good as dead after abandoning them when was a baby. Maeliosa is in charge of the front desk at The Stables. She takes Sage's application, but their long term vetting process might mean Sage will die before ever finding a mate. This story ends in a cliffhanger and I can't wait to see what comes next.

This is my favorite installment yet in this series! The suspense had me reading faster. I am loving Maeliosa and Sage. Nathan is as slimy as ever but is making this so interesting. The puca shifters continues to be a refreshing change from normal shifter books. Can't wait to read the next installment. Book gifted to me at my request to the author.

The installment in this series was wonderfully written and left me wanting more. I was captivated from start to finish and was left wanting more when the story ended. I read this whole story in one sitting and I only wish there would be more after this part of the series if finished. I voluntarily read this advanced copy.
