The Hand of War

Rate this book
SAS veteran Lacklan Walker has been searching for Marni. She murdered his father, but his father’s dying wish was that Lacklan should keep her safe; safe from Omega, the government-within-the government, whose plans for humanity Marni has sworn to expose. And that is anything but safe.

Now the UN in New York is hosting an international conference on global warming and overpopulation. Marni will be delivering a key paper. Lacklan knows that paper will be dynamite, and Omega will be gunning for her.

What he doesn’t know is that Abdul Abbassi, the Butcher of Helmand, is also there, and his intention is not to keep anybody safe. His intention is to rain bloody fire and death down on the conference – and the city.

Long ago Lacklan swore to kill Abbassi, now is his chance, but time is running out and if he is to save Marni - and thousands more – he will have to play a dangerous double game with Omega: Omega of the Dark Agenda, Omega, who move the subtle Hand of War…

Book Four in the Omega series, in which Lacklan finds Marni, kills lots of people and then saves the lives of a huge number of people. The action is full speed for the entire book and sometimes it is possible to lose track of who is double crossing who.

This is a really entertaining series. Lacklan is like a young superman who can do anything, including defusing a bomb (just wait until you see how he does it!). Now that Marni has been found the story is taking a different direction and I look forward to reading the next book.

In "The Hand of War," the fourth installment of the Omega series, writer Blake Banner finally lets his protagonist Lacklan Walker find Marni, the ex-girlfriend he's been pursuing since the start. But Marni isn't interested. She finds Walker a killer who creates chaos wherever he goes. She's up to deliver a paper at an international conference on climate change in Washington, D.C. that's sure to upset the shadowy Omega group, which has been pursuing her. Walker's been working with Omega, and its members have been helping him. But the association is dangerous. Omega wants Walker either to take a leadership position with the organization or completely butt out. That conflict reaches an apex as does his connection with Marni. She has a sidekick, an arrogant professor who thinks Walker's a loser. Meanwhile, Walker discovers a killer at the conference and knows Marni's life is in real danger. He does his thing regardless of the opposition. And not only is Marni thinking he's dangerous but Omega wanting to eliminate him and the FBI thinks he's the enemy. But Walker has to figure out a way to eliminate the threat or Marni and hundreds of others could die. Banner maintains the intensity throughout the novel and the pace doesn't let up. He's got all sorts of twists in this one up until the end. We learn more about Omega, but just enough to realize there's more to know.

The Hand of War. Blake Banner

Omega, an extraordinarily powerful group. There goal to stop the over population of our world. By whatever means necessary. They have the means and power to accomplish their goals. Lacklan Walker, whose father was a high ranking member of Omega stands directly in there path. This is an extremely powerful and believable novel. My highest recommendation.

Gripping Storyline!

As a resident New Yorker and a frequent visitor to Washington, this story spoke to me from a multiplicity of levels. I have been so inspired and ignited. The rich metaphors, it's like a movie on pages. Exhilarating! I was totally taken back by the swift twist in the last few pages. This book was so good and I cannot wait to start the next. I am hooked to this series! Wow!

Wow , what an ending........

So many twists and turns in these stories. Lacland is one ballsy sob. I can pretty much figure out the eventual ending to most books I read but you have fooled me several times now. Way to go, Blake. Looking forward to more of Omega Series books. Thanks, Amarillo Turtle

So far the best

The best of the best so far. This book has it all, Love, hate, mystery and suspense. It had me glued to the book from beginning till the end. This is a must read series no doubt an it makes you think about our government and how close it really is to this book. I hope not but look at this world we live in right now.

The Hand of War

Man, this book is awesome! I actually stayed up for several hours in the middle of the night reading it. I know that the whole really does have a problem with over population and the threat of destruction. It's easy to tell yourself this is just a book of fiction. Is It Really!!

The hand of war

A good continuation of this series and one that seemed to move more smoothly than the others. Interesting concept for the tales and a very nearly believable conspiracy theory that might be more true than is comfortable.

While the killing is graphic and violent, the storyline is scary. With all going on in the world these days, it is as if Banner has a crystal ball and preparing us for what's to come. Can hardly wait to finish the second box set.
