Melissa Storm is a New York Times and multiple USA Today bestselling author of Women’s Fiction, Inspirational Romance, and Cozy Mysteries.
Despite an intense, lifelong desire to tell stories for a living, Melissa was “too pragmatic” to choose English as a major in college. Instead, she obtained her master’s degree in Sociology & Survey Methodology—then went straight back to slinging words a year after graduation anyway.
She loves books so much, in fact, that she married fellow author Falcon Storm. Between the two of them, there are always plenty of imaginative, awe-inspiring stories to share. Melissa and Falcon also run a number of book-related businesses together, including LitRing, Sweet Promise Press, Novel Publicity, Your Author Engine, and the Author Site.
When she's not reading, writing, or child-rearing, Melissa spends time relaxing at her home in the Michigan woods, where she is kept company by a seemingly unending quantity of dogs and two very demanding Maine Coon rescues. She also writes under the names of Molly Fitz and Mila Riggs.
Jazz wasted most of her life pining after Nathan. He was her best friend but she wanted more. He was totally oblivious and paraded a slew of girlfriends across her path while she suffered heartbreak after heartbreak over the years. Then suddenly he sees the light and tells her he wants her for his girlfriend. Time passes but still no proposal. She finally breaks up with him. She can't take it! When he sends her 1,000 tweets to win her back she's like putty in his hands.
All he asks is that they get PRE-ENGAGED!!!!! What a loser! Kick him to the curb and find someone worthy of your love! To top it off the story ends with no resolution but continues in the next installment. Like you really want to read more about these head cases!
> > Judging a Book by it's Cover < < A man in a suit. Other than the big, bright title font, the cover really is not too appealing or eye-catching. I normally would not pick up a serial or a chronic groom-hopping wanna-be bride, but I purchased the entire "series" (serial) because I adore McClone's work but Storm is new to me.
> > Looking Deeper < < POV ~> Third person
Nathan and Jazz had been neighbors and best friends since they were five & six years old and half of this story followed their path through childhood and into their teen years. Jazz realized that she liked Nathan as more than a friend in eighth grade, but Nathan was too busy being a "player" from that point on to senior prom. Jazz pathetically stood by, loyally, waiting for Nathan to throw her some scrap of attention and/or affection when he was otherwise too busy wasting opportunities to better himself. She even made some really poor decisions, throwing away a dream opportunity for him. I could not support that. And after she opted to stay with him, he still barely took anything seriously, for almost a full year. I'd really hoped that the best friend angle would be warm-warming and sweet but I found him to be selfish and annoying, her to be weak-willed and lacking in self-worth. Disappointing, really. I thought she pulled her head out of her backside but was mistaken and by then, it was too late to redeem the story for me and nearly ruined the entire serial for me. The ending left them with a loose HFN status but obviously, that won't last since there are three other men to get through before finding her HEA. . First, I want to thank both Melissa Storm and Melissa McClone for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review. Finding Mr. Happily Ever After, Part 1 is a collaboration written by Melissa Storm and Melissa McClune. I am already a huge fan of Melissa Storm’s work so I knew I had to read this book. However, I have never heard of or read anything by Melissa McClone before. Needless to say Melissa Storm has now turned me into a fan of Melissa McClone as I loved this book!! So much so that when I was done with the first book I dived right into the second book into the series! I love how this book is dedicated to all of those who set her on her own path to find her own happily ever after. Then she mentions her husband. I absolutely LOVED this story!!!! I absolutely loved the character Jazz and the relationship she had with Nathan. He was the boy next door-her bff- the one guy she was in love with. I loved reading their ups and downs of their relationship. My heart ached for Jazz regarding her father and what he was doing to her Mother. No woman should put up with that abuse.
I loved this book...I fell in love with the characters right from the beginning. I love Jazz, she's smart, kind, funny girl. When I was reading this book the Taylor Swift song 'You Belong With Me' in my head because that is what this book reminds me of. Boy and Girl and best friends live across from each other, their windows face each other and she falls for him before he realizes she's the one for him. I love how Jazz sticks with him with all the girls and all the things teenagers go though in high school she stays true to him and while she does the typical in love girl thing giving up her dream to be with him and follow him. I still love the book and Jazz. I think the Melissa's did great with this book. But the big question is...who is she getting ready to marry at the beginning of the book???
Finding Mr. Happily Ever After: Nathan by Melissa Storm and Melissa McClone
Jazz is looking for love and finding the journey more complicated than she thought. The Mr. Happily Ever After series is a humorous look at love through the eyes and heart of a cluelessly adorable romantic. Melissa Storm and Melissa McClone play off of each others strength of optimistic sweetness and ever changing fun. With Nathan, Jazz is looking to get her feet wet, but hoping not to get her heart broken. Nathan could be the beginning of something wonderful or the end of something special. This kicks off the start of an amazing, entertaining and heartwarming series.
This is just dull. There is no tension or conflict or character development and all I am doing is reading about Jazz and Nathan’s back story which is thin and frankly tedious. Dnf
And apparently you have to read a second book to get any resolution. No thanks.
Lovely story about a young woman - or girl, at the beginning of the story - growing up next to her BFF. Slowly, their relationship changes. But is he her Mr. Happily Ever After? Well, there are 4 more stories coming, so we (and she) won't know, yet. Really nice concept. There are so many of us, who don't find our happily ever afters with our first partner. So I guess this series will be familiar to a lot of people. I received a copy and chose to review it. Now, off to read part 2!
A cute, quick read about Nathan and Jazz who have been best friends since they were five-years-old. The friendship only got tighter after one tragic night when they were eight. Jazz is the serious one, Nathan is all about the fun.
Jazz got to be rather annoying, especially when she gives up her dreams so easily in order to stay around Nathan. Nathan is just clueless. I didn’t have a hard time reading this one, it’s entertaining enough. However, I’m not sure I’ll continue the series.
The first in the Finding Mr. Happily Ever After five part serial being released this month. This is a continuing story and will need to be read in the order of release.
In the prologue, Jazz is with her stylist on her wedding day getting hair and makeup done. Who will be at the end of the aisle waiting for her?
This first short story in the serial is the tale of her first love – the boy next door – the one who first stole her heart and knows all of her secrets. Jazz is young and naive. Nathan is young and self-absorbed – as most young men are. What will come of maturity? Will they circle back around? Will he be the one at the altar? There is such suspense and hope.
While she reminisces about her life journey and the men she has known, we are left to wonder which will be “the one” in the end. I, for one, am looking forward to continuing this adventure to see where her heart has lead her.
I have loved the few stories I have read from Melissa Storm before. I have never read anything from Melissa McClone. Together, these two Melissas have brought a smile to my heart and I am diving straight into Part 2.
Note: while I was given this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
Title: FINDING MR. HAPPILY EVER AFTER, PART 1 Series: Finding Mr. Happily Ever After # Category /Genre: Contemporary Romance Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content Grammar/editing: book received as an unedited ARC / errors excused Received from: Melissa Storm (as an ARC gifted copy)
I find the concept and idea for this series so fun! There will be 5 books and at the end we will see who the main female character, Jazz, will marry! In this first book, Jazz is actually in 3rd grade! What fun! Jazz meets Nathan, her next door neighbor, when she moves in and they become BFFs through thick and thin. They are extraordinarily close and as sometimes happens, one actually falls in love with the other - this time it's Jazz falling in love with Nathan. She hates seeing him with all these girls through high school but doesn't want to "speak up" with her feelings because she doesn't want to lose his friendship. Ahhhh, high school relationships!!!! This book brought back to me all those high school years! I totally understood Jazz's feelings but I didn't always agree with her actions! I don't want to give away spoilers but personally, I wouldn't have done some of the things she did....following Nathan like she did! She really gave her heart and soul to him and he sure didn't reciprocate very well! Personally, I didn't really like Nathan's character that much. I felt her used Jazz a lot whenever he needed her and when he didn't, just tossed her! Of course, Jazz let him too! So, I look forward to the next book and see what's in store for Jazz.....the new and improved Jazz! This is so fun!!!!
A great start to a short story that is a five part series of one man and woman who grow up together going through everything in life together. One doesn’t want a serious relationship the other thinks she does. Once you over step that line you could end up losing your best friend forever. I wonder what choice these two will make…..
Jazz loves Nathan, Nathan loves all the girls. It is so hard for her and leaves her wondering when he might just see her as her and not someone to hang out with when there isn’t anyone else around. I thought this is a great start to a good series. Like so many people in a relationship one puts the other first and the other just thinks of their wants and needs. In some relationships this works and in others it doesn’t. You will have to read to see how this turns out.
I thought it was a good start, Nathan I didn’t care how he only thought of his self but I have hopes he will grow up and see what is really before his eyes. Jazz I liked but thought she really needed to not hang so much on his every word and go live a little. Maybe just maybe it will work out I have my fingers cross but am looking at real life don’t give much hope for her. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series. *******************
I’ll start by saying, I usually avoid serial books...the ones where you absolutely need to read in order (even though I always do with series anyway) and each book builds up to a conclusion. But with two great sweet authors, Melissa McClone and Melissa Storm, I figured it was a no brainer. Great authors, who write sweet romance, so there would be no cheating or sex with a succession of guys. So far so good! I love how we progressed with the story of Jazz and Nathan’s friendship from age 8 through college. One of my very favorite tropes is friends to lovers, so I thought I’d be team Nathan all the way. But not so fast.... Nathan is quite the little player as a teen, which is fine, since he doesn’t know how his best friend Jazz feels. But is this a condition that doesn’t change? Jazz is sweet, funny, loyal and dedicated. She’s a great person to have on your side, but she tends to put herself last. I’m excited to see how Jazz herself changes and grows in each book. Great writing, a new and interesting type of read by favorite authors.. It’s a win/win for me!
Melissa Storm and Melissa McClone came together to write this really sweet story that is 5 books long. This is about Jazz Michaels as she is preparing to get married. She is asked how she knows that she found her "Mr. Happily Ever After". These 5 books encompass Jazz's story of each man she has loved and her who have loved her.
In Finding Mr. Happily Ever After part 1 we learn about Jazz from all the way back to third grade. This is important because that's when Jazz meets Nathan Reed. Next door neighbor. Best friend. Love of her life. The problem is that Nathan didn't realize he cared about Jazz romantically until they are seniors in high school.
I read this book in one sitting. I was pretty excited about finding out Jazz's answer to knowing for sure that she made the right choice. In this book we learn so much about who Jazz is. She seems so real, after reading this book. I expect her to climb right out of the book. I am intrigued about how this story ends!!!
Although October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (and February focuses on teen dating violence, NOT a subject here!), the issue is sufficiently widespread to become a target even in romance novels. Seeing violence is as harmful to the subject as being violated and the repercussions are long lasting and can be severe. But that is not the focus of this tale, merely the springboard for a YA novel of unrequited love. There is a lot going on here--family crises many cope with daily, reactive behaviors, cluelessness--but, overcoming all, sweet love. Just reading this one novella provides a charming and wholesome HEA (Happily Ever After). But, as the spokesman says, wait, there's more! This turns out to be the first in a quintet of tales where, per the Facebook status, "it's complicated." I enjoyed Part I and am immediately grabbing Part II.
This is a great new series by Melissa Storm and Melissa McClone about one Jasmine Michaels ( JAZZ) finding her one true Happy Ever After to Marry. This is book one of five and tells us about Nathan the boy next door that was her best friend turned to love of her life. A life she took for him, so they could see where their love would go. I received an ARC copy of this wonderful book and this is my honest and voluntary review. I really enjoyed this book and love the idea of starting at the present with Jazz getting ready for her wedding and then going back to tell us about her life and love for Nathan. But will Nathan be the Happy Ever After………book two we meet Chase in Jazz’s world? This is a story about young love and about making decisions that will affect your future and growing up with the one you love.
Jasmine Michaels has been best friends with her neighbor Nathan Reed ever since she was 5 and he was 6. At 13 Jazz develops a crush on the handsome Nate that grows over the years until she gives up ever getting out of the friendzone and decides to accept the scholarship at her dream school Burton College. But when Nate confesses to Jazz he loves her during prom, she rejects Burton College's offer to go to Queen's College to be together with Nate. After dating for 2 years Jazz is thinking of marriage, but is Nate thinking the same thing?
Melissa Storm and Melissa McClone deliver a drama-filled, angsty and sweet story that will have you rooting for the heroine and hero. I can't wait to read the next book in the Finding Mr. Happily Ever After series to find out what the future has in store for Jazz
Finding Mr. Happily Ever After (Nathan) is the story of Jazz Michaels love life starting from when she was a child. She had a major crush on her next-door neighbor Nathan Reed. They were schoolmates who spent their days together as best friends. Nathan took forever to realize that his relationship with Jazz might be more than friendship but in the end, they broke up and Jazz was heartbroken. Right off the bat, I have to admit that I really do not like cliffhangers and if I had realized that this book was part one of a five-part series I would not have read it. That being said, Ms. Storm's book is a good read and if you are into a continuing series you are going to love this one.
I received this advanced copy from Hidden Gems Romance and I am freely posting this fair and balanced review.
What happens when you get Melissa Storm and Melissa McClone together? Well, you get Finding Mr. Happily Ever After the series! And your adventure begins.... Jazz (Jasmine) Michaels was getting ready for her wedding and Daisy, a top wedding hairstylist in New York City when Daisy asked her for advice for someone who were ready to give up on love....and ....our journey starts. Finding your happy ever after is hard for anyone but Jazz seems to have found hers at the age of eight with the boy next door. Nathan Reed was Jazz best friend. Growing up, falling in love and marriage just seemed right...but did she find Mr. Happily Ever After? This was a short, fun book to read. I think we can all relate and get involved with the characters. I couldn’t wait for part two to see what happens....
Loved this book but then I always do I love the things Mrs. Storm write. This is a sweet clean romance of finding Mr. Happily Ever After for Jazz. In part one she tells about her childhood friend Nate and of her feelings for him. I love how they grew their relationship after having been friends for so long. Do they stay friends or become more you have to read the book to find out. This a clean romance that I highly recommend. I receive complimentary books for review from publishers, publicists, and/or authors. I am not required to write positive reviews. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part
Loved this book!! A quick read that is part one of a five part series. A sweet romance of finding Mr Happily Ever After for Jazz. In part one, you meet Jazz and Nate. They have been best friends since childhood. Jazz had always seen Nate as more than a friend, even while Nate dated all of these different girls. Nate finally realized his feelings for Jazz too.
I must admit I'm a sucker for friends to lovers, and this story did not disappoint me. Loved how their relationship developed. I must admit I wanted to shake Nate a few times through out the story. But now, I'm Team Nate.
Looking forward to reading the next part of this series. This a clean romance that I highly recommend.
The story goes back to when Jazz was younger. She has a crush on boy-next-door Nathan. I liked Jazz a lot. I didn’t much care for Nathan though. So selfish! But he makes Jazz happy and therefore I did want things to work out between them.
This concept is different. Four men, one woman, five books. Which of them will Jazz choose in the end? So you know beforehand that three of the four men aren’t going to be Mr. Right. I was a bit skeptical, because I thought the idea was slightly weird, but I was wrong. It felt good right from the beginning. I was immediately drawn in. I really liked it!
I love the writing. I kept reading because the writing is fantastic. The story, not so much. I did like the history and love story from friends to lovers, growing up together and ending up in college together. I really did not like how it ended and I don't like the idea of this short series about Jazz hopping from man to man looking for a potential groom before she finally decides which guy she's going to marry. So in this book she gives Nathan a second chance then the next book she moves on to a different guy?? Eh, me thinks not. Very sweet romance, I just don't like the cliff hanger and the idea of this series. Note: I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Review Copy of this book.
This is a sweet, super clean story of Jazz and Nathan. The years of friendship, their time together, the ups and downs, their growth as young people. I loved their story, I was completely pulled in and so in love with these two. The story deserves the 5 stars but I will say that the description I originally read before choosing this book mentioned nothing of it being a serial with one bride and four potential grooms. I was definitely thrown for a loop as I finished. I'm looking forward to Jazz as her search for an HEA continues.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 Jazz Michael is getting married.. And this is one of the potential groom. Nathan was Jazz’s neighbor and they have been best friends ever since. They would always celebrate each other’s birthdays and half birthdays. They always had each other whenever they needed each other.. As Jazz has the biggest crush on Nathan and she couldn’t reveal her true feeling to Nathan and their timing never worked out. When Nathan presents with awesome promposal to Jazzy, their true feelings were revealed... Jazz is accepted to the school of her dreams with full scholarship but she gives all up for Nathan... Now they are seeing each other, everything is great until she feels she feels she wants more out of her life.. Jazz wants more than just relationship with Nathan anymore, she seems too anxious and ready to settle down (way too fast)... It seems like happy ever after except it is not the ending I was expecting.
It was good read and it brought up lots of memories from my teenage years. I guess I will have to read the rest of the series to find out who her husband and happily ever will be. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
The first in a series of books about Jazz Michaels and the loves of her life, leading to finding her Mr. Happily Ever After.
This first book focuses on her first love – her next-door neighbor who has been her best friend since they were very young. They have always been there for each other throughout the years, but as they grow up, feelings turn to love. We learn of their friendship from childhood through college. Will that deep first love last to the Altar, or will someone else come along to steal Jazz’s heart.
A light, sweet, clean read that I enjoyed very much and look forward to reading the remaining books in the series.
Finding Mr. Happily Ever After: Nathan tells the story of the crush Jazz Michaels has on Nathan Reed from Kindergarten until they are seniors in college. Most of the time Nathan doesn't have a clue how Jazz feels and being a kid she isn't able to tell him when he keeps her in the best 'friend' department.
Then he wakes up and things change but not enough for the happily ever after Jazz needs and it ends with a cliffhanger...
I hate cliffhangers and in this story do not want to go on with the series. I did like the emotional ups and downs of the teenage Jazz, which made the story ok until the end and added suspense.
I have mixed feelings about this book and the concept of this series. On one hand, I like that we get a good insight into Jazz and Nate (and then Jazz's other relationships) by each having a dedicated story. On the other hand, I don't know if I'm keen on having to wait until book five to find out Jazz she ends up with. I guess I'll have to see how I'm feeling about it after reading the next book. Overall this was a sweet friends to lovers romance and I liked Jazz and Nate together. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
rcvd an advanced reader from the author for giving my two cents. we meet childhood bffs Jazzy and Nathan. inseparable since her family moved in. jazzy learned one day that she liked Nathan more than just as a friend. she didn't want to tell him and it was worse when her paraded his gfs all the time. jazzy decided that she'd rather have Nathan as a friend then to not have him at all. senior year Nathan asks her to prom and confesses that he loves her. omg...jazzy doesn't know what to think. will she go with him after grad or will she follow her dreams?
This story was not what I expected and that in most negative way, unfortunately. He is awful and she is dreaming of a man that does not exist. He has one woman after the other and still she wants him. When they finally get together he is still a scoundrel but she breaks it off, finally. What happens now he of course wants her. And she is potty in his hands but why??? This is not a story for me because no of the characters were likeable or had brains at all. And it also has a cliffhanger so the story has not ending. You have to read the next one.
Wow! This one was full of twist and turns. I didn't see the last one coming towards the end even though I knew this was a series. The plot was interesting and I was hooked from the very beginning. I loved the author's writing style. The storyline flowed smoothly throughout. I loved Jazz and Nathan. Both characters were well-developed and easily relatable. What I didn't get was chemistry. It was more like convenience/friendship and not a normal couple relationship. I can't wait to see how this series ends.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a free copy of this book....
