Everyone's got a dark side. You may know me as a dangerously handsome, effortlessly stylish half-demon Luther Cross. That part remains true, but everything else has changed.
There's a war brewing between Heaven and Hell. My only concern is staying off angel radar, but with a power vacuum in Chicago's supernatural underworld, I'm looking at a full-blown demonic turf war--one that will most certainly bring the angels down from their clouds.
That would be inconvenient for me, to say the least. If I'm going cover my own ass--meaning put a stop to this--I'll need some help. Unfortunately, my ally of choice is a centuries-old demon who isn't doing jack for me unless I first do something for her.
And that, well. That's going to piss off a lot of powerful people, including some I once called friends.

Luther you freaking dumb a**! What are you thinking?!
I spent the majority (100%) of this book calling Luther bad names, I mean what a stupid prick being all rude to his friends and not listening to his better self. Rarely do I enjoy sequels more than the original, but by golly, I really have loved them! I can't wait to see what Luther decides to do, I am with Celeste, I feel he is still in there some where. All of this could have been avoided had Allistair been up front with him, just sayin' ;). I am interested to see if he will swing classic hero or more anti hero. I really looking forward to him becoming his true self, or truer self in the next book unless of course it ends with another bloody cliff hanger!
I greatly enjoy reading the Luther Cross books. The author took awhile, but it was worth the wait. After coming back from Purgatory, Luther has hooked up with Lilith and things are starting to pop. Will the real Luther please stand up? Waiting for the next book. Don’t make me wait too long. 😏
I'm extremely happy this series has been available to read for free with a Kindle Unlimited subscription. That is how I've been devouring this exciting series.
Luther's demonic side has emerged to the surface, heinously ready for fun. Being that he's still Luther, albeit an eviler version, he knows all of non-demonic Luther's friends and allies. Not just their names or where they live, but them on a personal level. Meaning, he knew which buttons to push to piss all of them off. That given, most have given up on him.
Beyond his inner demon taking over, a lot has changed. The cat's out of the bag about Asmodeus's disappearance, which leads every baddie straight out of or inside of Hell fighting for his section of Hell. This, of course, leaves for some interesting bedfellows for evil Luther. From meeting the new bosses crawling out of the footholds of Hell to getting our first taste of Lucifer Morningstar himself, this book will leave you craving more.
I'm interested to see how things progress in the next book. Being exactly halfway through the six-book series, a lot of juicy events have unfolded, the main arc fleshing together, while sub-arcs are progressing fluidly coinciding the main story-line.
This book definitely checked off all the boxes to hit my 'Favorites' shelf; 5 out of 5 stars.
Instead of reviewing each book individually as I did with the first, I''ve reviewed the rest of the 5 books as a series: The novels of this series are written more as one, long, continuous story that was then broken into separate books at a cliffhanger-type break (think like TV episodes in a season of a series) rather than individual standalone novels that progressed a storyline. In my opinion, that caused the character exposition to suffer and made them more superficial, unfinished archetypes than they could've been, which is mildly disappointing because the writing is just so good, otherwise! Even historically "known" characters are given a unique spin, different mythical & mystical elements are woven together well, and action scenes are written believably with characters suffering real consequences rather than the author providing pat solutions. I'll get more books by Constantine in the future, with the hope that he'll eventually spend more time delving into characters through story rather than churning through episodes...this could be an author to watch if he hones his craft.
Wow this series just keeps gaining more and more momentum. Storyline and plot as usual is excellent and just keeps flowing and constantly drawing you in to eagerly know what happens next . Great supporting cast . Again lots of action and intrigue , magic ,spells and explosives. Can't wait for next book , things are really hotting up now . Brilliant series so far give it a try .
Omg where to start. The third book in this series had Luther exploring his more demonic side and I will admit that l like this more darker colder side. It opens up more of his personality and makes him more complex. This book answers some question, but it also created more, the plot thickens. I'm so glad I found this series and I look forward to reading more.
Dissatisfied and disappointed with this book. Two first were quite alright and had a lot of potential, but the third one is just a mixture of irritating babbling and pushing for originality that it's just not there.
Ok..I didn't like this one quite as much as the first two books. The writing was still good, and the characters were engaging, but I don't like what Luther is going through. All it means is that I need to start the next book right away.
This was my least favorite of the series. I did not like the Hero's slide into darkness. I am not out completely. If book 4 gives me some hope, then I'm back!
