Generously Yours is a story of Diya and Viren. Life can never be smooth and easy, it's about Diya who lost her love, Viren.  It's a short story, of 18 pages. How Diya is trying to get back to her normal life. Firstly, I loved the cover and the title. It's impressive. I loved how the story started. The writing style of the author is commendable. She described each and every moment beautifully. The language used by the author is simple and easy. one will instantly connect with the story.

The way she described Viren's natures, Diya's character excellent. I fell in love with Viren's Character. The pace and the flow of the story are smooth and crisp. The writing style of the author is amazing. Life never stops! she conveyed the message in a crisp and simple way. The narration of the story is again exceptional. The plot of the story different.

It tells how Love helps us to get through each and every situation. The author describes Diya's state of mind in a wonderful way. Her struggles, depression, love, everything. One can relate to each and every word.

I would love to read her book.

It's a short, light, quick read full of emotions.

At first I didn't know how to review this story. It doesn't have the concreteness of a beginning or an end. But then I realized that's exactly what it is. A little pocket of ambiguity after experiencing deep loss. It's only after passing through that experience that one emerges from it, with strength renewed to move on. Would have loved it if it was longer.

I know Inderpreet ever since I contacted her to edit my book 'The Fragile Thread of Hope'. Right from her first reply, I knew she was a true professional and completely dedicated to her work. She did a stellar job with my book, and due to her wonderful eye to detail, my book got the polish it so badly needed.

A few weeks ago, I was pleasantly surprised while scrolling through my Facebook timeline. I found out that Inderpreet had written a book too. I never knew she was so multi-talented—book reviewer, editor, and now an author too! I bought the book immediately and began reading it.

I realized a bit late that it was a short story, not a book. Nevertheless, even in just a few pages, the talent of the author shines. She has poured a lot of emotions in the story—love, loss, longing, frustration, contentment, pain. Diya reminded me of a character from my book, Fiona, as she grapples with her past after losing a loved one. I loved how different objects in the house reminded Diya of her past and emotions associated with it. It was shown rather than told, so I truly appreciate that aspect of Inderpreet's writing. I really liked how she has written the character of Diya and shown her strength despite her pain. After all, despite all the sufferings we endure in life, we have to move on.

Inderpreet's language is simple and lucid and flows really well. She has done a very good job in this short story, and I hope to see more books, especially longer works of fiction, from her.

4 stars from my side. I recommend this short, sweet story to everyone.

Since Inderpreet is an editor henceforth, I can understand her style of writing. She has a unique style of writing which will make you fall in love with the way she play with words. She has used third person narrative, fantabulous descriptions. She has made a simple story lively.

Generously Yours' is a short tale of a young woman who is battling with various emotions of love, loss, and grief.  Diya believes in forever love. But her world crashes down in front of her eyes when Viren abandons her. Or did he?

The book is just eighteen pages long, but the story grabs your attention from the word go. With vivid descriptions and narrated in a crisp and lucid style, the author has also tried to keep the suspense till the end. I knew what was coming up nevertheless, the pain of loss and pangs of separation is what would tug at your heartstrings.

I loved the author's style of writing - in third person narrative. The story doesn't involve any 'one to one' interaction, or dialogues. A poignant love story, I yearned for it to be a bit longer. What if this is simply a prequel to her novel? Ah, I wish!

This is a very well written narrative told in a stream of consciousness narrative. A short story that aptly captures the emotions of a woman who has just lost her husband and how she finally find courage and strength to reconcile with her loss. A mental journey through the past, the present and toward the future. Author has done a commendable job linking all the back story with memories around different objects. Quite a short story that can be read in 15-20 minutes.

Full Book Review: Generously Yours by Inderpreet Uppal

I have finally read Author Inderpreet Uppal's book: Generously Yours. For a debut book, it is pretty good :)
Inderpreet Uppal has weaved a story which fleshes out the characters, their lives, their traits, how opposites attract and their love for each other.
The characters are just 2 and fill up the entire story. Loved how they grow with each page for the reader.
The description of the houses was so clear, I could visualize each part.
The story left a heart breaking but warm feeling within you. The emotions are portrayed so realistic.
More of the story please. A full fledged novel, if you will. Inderpreet Uppal I am sure everyone is waiting to know more about Diya :)

Generously Yours is a short is sweet kind of love story. A story which reaches to core of your heart and makes you think "Life is so uncertain".

Loved Inderpreet's debut work but found the end little abrupt. But Generously Yours is a generously heart-touching love story.

Good book. The author writes well. Too short for my liking and Diya's character could have been defined more but the writer has brought out the feeling of a woman who has lost a loved one in a very compassionate way. Sensitive writer.

I was in the middle of many things when I got an opportunity to review this book. I wanted to read the book then and there as an escape from the hectic schedule I was having, but couldn’t succeed to do so.
After reading the book, the first thought which came to my mind was, “Thank God! I didn’t read it that time.” One may wonder why??? It is because, although it is a short read, it is definitely not a light read.
This short story tends to evoke tender emotions within the reader and leaves you with mixed feelings of love and sadness.
SIMPLE PLOT
The plot is built on the cloud of emotions. The simplicity of the plot is something which made me feel an instant connection with the book. The story is about protagonist Diya, who is picking up pieces of her shattered life after her beloved leaves her.
PROS
The beginning of the story will catch your attention. It tugs your heart and compels you to move further into the story.
The portrayal of emotions was fabulously done. As a reader, I could feel the loss of the protagonist. As she moves, looking at her surroundings, reminiscing her beautiful memories with her beloved… one could feel the pain and sadness of her loss.
The author has done an awesome job depicting how normal things used in our daily lives become precious tokens of memories when our loved ones leave us behind; how the protagonist relives her past every time she looks at them.
With so much happening in the life of the protagonist, she still goes on with her life not shirking from the memories but embracing them to give her boost to live her life… is something to take away from this story.
CONS
The pace of the story was a tad bit slow for me. Although it was a short read I felt the need of having more from the story.
RATINGS
4 dragons
CONCLUSION
Want to read heartwarming story of lost love… Pick Generously Yours.

Generously yours is a short, just of 18 pages story written by my dear friend Inderpreet. It talks about Diya who lost Viren – her love, very early in life. The tale is about her fights with herself and her life without him but just with his memories. It is her debut work and I am so happy to have read it. I am proverbial with her writing and her precision has been replicated in this book too. She has an exceptional style of writing. She has attempted her debut book in third person storyline with far-fetched metaphors and characterisation. There are feelings of love, pasting, paroxysms of misery and aggravation which every woman goes through (the pain) when she loses her love. It was easy to connect with the rollercoaster of sentiments which Diya faces in the story. For me it was very realistic. I propose reading this book to everyone. Wishing good luck to Inder for her next book and hope she comes out with a full length novel soon.

Two souls bonded together for life
One bids goodbye, the other cries
Memories come flooding, making the other listless and lost
Then time the healer takes things in hand
Brings the other back on track.

Inderpreet’s ‘Yours Generously’ is the story of two souls bonded in love, the making of their memories, and the metamorphosis of one into a strong person as well as the role of the other in the transformation process. There is love and there is loss. There are traces of bitterness borne out of a sense of despair and there is gratitude for the support extended for a metamorphosis that would perhaps have been difficult if not impossible, without the same. In short this is the story of a lost and found soul.

Narrated in simple, crisp and lucid style, the book reminds us that life does not stop or stand still with death. In fact death is just a temporary passing phase which jolts us yet, makes us see things in new light. It makes us look up at life with new eyes and sometimes challenges us to leave our comfort zone and move ahead.

The book is a breezy read. But……..I wish it would not have ended so fast and abrupt. Hope the author works on making this one a full-fledged novel.

Generously Yours by Inderpreet is the story of a young woman whose battle with various emotions drive the story forward. Love, loss, pangs of depression, and the frustration Diya deals with in her life could very well be of any other woman we know from our life. The emotional roller coster Diya is on really tugs at the heart and we finish reading the book a bit too soon. I wish this was a longer story, that good the experience was.
The language used in the book is really simple and maintains a steady flow. The entire story can be consumed in a single sitting and the reader is left wanting for more from this author.

This is a story that packs all the emotions of love, loss and grief in a very subtle albeit powerful way.
The cover and the tag line to the title really intrigued me as to how would the story be
right from the first word in the story, i just flowed into the story. I actually loved the way the story has been narrated in a very unhurried and leisurely, pace. As I read through the story I wanted so many questions answered and the author sure answered all of them by the end.
This was a short read but a very crisp one at that. I am looking forward to read longer stories by the author.

This was a breeze reading and I finished it in less than ten minutes. I liked the way the story started. Initially, it felt as if Viren has ditched Dia but the end was surprising. It's hard to accommodate so much in such a tiny read.

My only criticism was the story lacks any person to person conversation. I mean there are no dialogues at all. I missed any action. This felt like a slow burning short story that leaves me wanting for more. It felt like a prequel to a big novel, and I hope the author would take this in consideration.

‪Generously Yours by the author is a heartwarming short story, I loved the descriptions of the home 🏠, Life is unpredictable and the story is an example for that, loved that the girl chose a new home with old memories like the bird DIY
I learned from the book to be Independent in life, because too much attachments can hurt when the person is gone and very few people can deal with that.

Generously yours is the second book I have read written by the author Inderpreet Uppal, and there is no doubt that she is a talented and gifted writer. Her expert writing skills and her technique which she shared in her last book can be seen here, which really impressed me.

Generously yours is an exquisite story that is short, sweet, relatable, and full of emotions and characters that definitely left a mark. While reading this book I didn’t realize that it’s such a short book, at the start I felt the story is rushed but then at the end, I realized that it was supposed to be this way. Unique and Expressive.

I enjoyed reading it and wouldn’t mind reading more of the same story, hoping the author releases the next book soon.

Overall, simply too good.

I found out about this book just now and wanted to read it. Not something I should have read at 1am, because it's so beautifully written - it's left me sad. Inderpreet has told a simple story in a very touching manner.
