<History got it wrong. Magic is real.

Leira Berens is a federal agent with some kickass magic of her own and she’s come face to face with what happens when magic collides with technology and organic matter.

Not pretty but very powerful.

The race is on to try and stop this new kind of shape shifting but can she do it without being wiped off the planet?

There's a race to grab magical artifacts, a Dark Mist trying to drag her to hell and a troll out on the town.

An average work day for Leira.

Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.

I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.

There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.

Thank you for checking out my stories!

As usual Leira, her family, friends, and her workmates, are racing against time in search of the magical artifacts that both Oricerans, who mean no good, in partnership with Humans, who are intent on grabbing power at any cost, are also chasing!

Leira is going from one place to another, trying to keep the magic sanctuaries, in Texas, as well as the Oriceran Dark Forest, free from the poachers intent on stealing the animals there, to use in their dreadful experiments of phasing magic artifacts, with the biological.

But she also has her other work, with the General, to perform, and it's taking everything that she, and her various teams, have, to keep level with, let alone to stop, the dark forces doing their best to grab the artifact power, before the gates between dimensions open.

Leira is trying her best to keep up with all the thefts of artifacts, plus the wheeling and dealing going on in high places, within Governmental levels - and there are some Senators , who will really regret what they're doing, before long, if she has her way!

The constant use of her powers, because they are getting so much easier to use, leaves Leira battling her instincts to flow free with the light, while also doing her best to help all the other groups keep ahead of the bad guys!

Her newly discovered Father, Jackson, being a partial Jasper Elf himself, is doing what he can to teach Leira control of her urge to go into the light, but he knows that she'll need a particular artifact, to help put a break on that urge - so he and Correk go in search of it.

I'm really loving this series so much. It is complex, multi-layered, and with so many points of interest, that I often feel breathless, as I read Leira's story.

There's certainly never a dull moment in the book, especially where Yumfuck Tiberius Troll is concerned.

I'm really loving the levity that he brings throughout the storylines, especially as things get so tense, and deadly dangerous, to the people he's connected with.

His antics are just what's needed, to bring some unfettered joy into their lives - I really love that Troll! Lol

This really is a wonderful storyline, and I'm enjoying each book that I read exponentially - it's such a pity there's only a choice of a 5* level, as this book, alone, deserves so much more!

So, now that I've finished writing this review - and please DO go on to read this series - I'm off now to book Seven: 'Enemies of Magic', to continue this marvelous roller-coaster of a ride, through the life of a swearing, kickass detective, with a five inch Troll as her constant companion! Lol

4 Till We Meet Again Stars

Theft of Magic is the sixth book in The Leira Chronicles series by Martha Carr and Michael Anderle.

Oof, and in the final pages of this book we watch Leora accidentally release something that could be truly catastrophic.. Harkin has taken too long, I understand he fears his sons reaction to his hiding out and faking his death. But I don't understand how he can't accept the numerous bad outcomes that are bound to occur if he continues to hide while nefarious forces seek to use his brain child to create true horrors.

That the Gardener took a leap of faith in connecting to the General in an effort to collaborate in protecting, and building on, his natural sanctuaries is a little shot of hope in all of the negativity spreading through the masses.

I wonder if those in government who have been supporting Charlie's twisted, and darkness infested, decisions will take Leira's warning to heart, or continue to err? It's sad that the darkness has twisted him, I don't think he initially set off to make these choices. Sure he still wanted to hold onto his economic power, but I remember him having more morality in the beginning about the process he would take to reach his goals. Wolfstan Hunphrey is my biggest concern. It's obvious he hasn't been warning his human partners of the malevolence inherent to the dark magic artifacts..

Mara is one cool grandma. Kicking ass, and rescuing the descendants of Rhazdon followers who deserve a chance to live without their ancestors misdeeds hanging over their head. It takes a lot of courage to do what she's doing, makes me think higher of her than even before. Her and Yumfuck are a hilarious duo and I can't get enough of their antics, and comedic relief.

Thankfully, Jackson is here to help guide Leira in her Jasper Elves heritage. That their magic is so pure, it can consume you, turning you into the very light itself is trippy. I know there is much more Leira will have to face as her powers further blossom and grow. She has an amazing entourage surrounding her, to keep her steady as the danger increases.

kindle unlimited but I have bought all of these when they've come out, they are/will be on ku at some point, something about pre-orders for non-amazon, BUT also first day release only 99 cents {have here and there been some specialy lowered temporary sale price}, and any of the .# books are always .99, proably because shorter than usual, holiday themed, etc. P.S. I STILL want a TALKING YTT doll.

So many inconsistencies! Book 4 ends with Mara looking for Jackson and threatening a dark market seller with her Jasper elf powers and scared that Leira is even more powerful than a regular Jasper elf. In book 5 she pins Jackson to the wall and explains how his mixed human heritage had mixed with hers to create powerful Leira its stated that Jackson is a wizard.

In this book, Mara and her family are humans with a rare gene activated by some magic blood and Jackson is a Jasper elf who had been hiding his whole life and only Mara knew. Then there's their ages. In the first book Correck was just over a hundred and went to school with Ossonia and Perrom and he and Ossonia had crushes on each other but were never confident enough to do anything about it. Perrom was said to have a wife and Correck didn't know Mara.

In this book Mara and Ossonia were old friends, the kind that tell each other about their love lives and yet she didn't know Correck? And whats up with her having grey hair if she is elf enough to have a long life and only be a few years older than Ossonia? And now Perrom has a thing for Ossonia? what the heck happened to the wife?

It can certainly be said that this book was interesting, but it seemed scattered in its story telling. There is a rhyme and reason to the way it is presented, but it isn’t easy to see.

The writing presented here lacks a smooth flow and comes out choppy, but understandable. More than the previous books in the series. Some earlier pieces of the story change slightly in perspective to where the story is going.

Leira is still a relatively unlikable character, but that is made up for with a good supporting cast of characters. There is underlying tension that I’m waiting to see playout and I’m hoping it comes out in a humorous fashion.

Overall, not great but not bad. A decent story and a decent telling, but no more than that. I’m enjoying the read, but I was hoping for more from the series. But there is still quite a few books left in the series, so we shall just have to see where it goes.

23rd happened to the cover art?

I love this series i really do but seriously people what happened to the cover art? The old art work made the reader believe that the artist had actually read the book, this new stuff, not so much. As for the story line etc as ever the characters are well written and very likeable, not to mention that i now really want to visit Austin. The only problem seems to be that the writers have agreed on the beginning and they know where the storyline is going but are meandering through the middle as if they're a little bit lost. They need to tighten things up, just like they did in the earlier books. That said i have already downloaded the next book. Yumf#ck!!

Yep loved it like the last one. Good page turner can't wait for this arc to continue

The main character development is on point people progresses. You expect there's drama action, plenty of fantasy, both Urban styled and older darker. Almost HP Lovecraft feeling at times just here and there.... The troll has a Facebook page. They mention it in the book so I looked it up and he does. Oh my goodness! That was a little sweet tidbit of candy there... Really cool too because a lot of the urban parts take place near where I live. I even went to the donut shop. The troll likes to visit this weekend and it was every bit as good as the story says it is So that part is not fiction..lol... Really fun read. Excited to get the next one and get into it

The continuing Adventures of YTT

Man, Martha, that troll can move! As Leira, Mara & the journalist Blake find out. He even has a FB page!

I very much enjoyed the scene where Blake was chasing down "that infuriating Yeti". I would have been stewing if Yum truck kept messaging me...

And I'd be crazy to miss Rose & Hagan discussing his work; for real! Ah, to be a fly on the wall...

Now, to grab the next book. It's going to be in the teens(F) daytime here, so I have reading time during the evening, when it's much colder. Snuggle up with a great story, a few cats & a warm cup of tea. Really loving this series.

Un put down able

Loved the new book. The bar scene was hysterical but then you topped with the run around, ending at the garden show.
I'm loving this series more and more. Also like the fact that all the little factions need to pool their resources because at the moment they are only seeing little snippets.
Hey your only as old as you feel and as long ass you have family/friends who care about you. A few aches and pains do not matter.
I'm off to read the next installment.

I love the Oriceran Universe

I love the cross over reference to KGU. Craig Martelle as the guy that made it big in Alaska and sold the land for a second sanctuary? Brilliant! In all honesty, I found the Oriceran Universe before I found KGU. This is my second reading because I went back and read all170+ KGU books and have returned to finish the Oriceran Universe books. Rock on. I can't get enough. Please keep the stories coming

Extraordinary!

I am rereading this series, because I had forgotten some of the content that connect the
Leira Chronicles to the Dwarf series, the Soccer mom series, and School of Necessary Magic series. I adore these character's resilience and the laugh out loud parts that brighten my days.
I highly recommend these imaginative, kick butt series to readers who love Urban Fantasy.
Enjoy!

3.5 stars at most

Not my favorite. The bit with the troll and the reporter went on top long and too slapstick. I hate slapstick. So long it could have been a short story I wouldn't have read. It distracted from the main plot, which was pretty boring. Hopefully the author isn't burning out. I like the series overall.

Lots or things happening

I really hope they Correck and Leira end up together. They are close friends st this point, we shall see I guess. She will be going on a date with Cohen soon. Not sure which direction the storyline will take. YTT is up to more shenanigans. Always good for laughs. There are a lot of players in this book. Lots of characters with lots of side stories.

good but slightly Annoying

I find myself a little annoyed that Jackson is treated as though he did something wrong by Correck when he didn’t know he had a daughter and Mara all is forgiven although she had years to speak up once she realized Erika was pregnant. Otherwise a good story

Only disappointment was the lengthy time spent on Yumfuck even though I like the little character and while I undertand the predictament created in the previous book it did not add to the actual main theme of the novel. I felt that it was being used as a filler in order to increase the word count.

Another great novel

Great addition to the series. Leira is getting to know not only her father but also something about her unique heritage. This was a fun adventure that has added greatly to the series. Highly recommend.

I'm addicted!

...and I need my fix! So much happening in so many ways! Hayley is doing a masterful job of spinning the plot and setting groundwork for the next book. Watching Leira grow is fascinating, especially as she learns more about her strength. Fascinating!

This one had a few confusing spots, but overall it was great. One part towards the end felt a little too convenient but otherwise good read. I really love the world, even if some of the writing could be done better.

One of my favorite things to do is to introduce people to new books. This series is an easy one to get folks started. The range of characters means there is something for everyone and that makes it even more fun for me. Enjoy
