Such a fun novella! I loved that Detective O'Hottie got a few steps closer to solving his case and getting the girl. Lucie really needs to start her own PI firm!
A new relationship, a dog show, friends and family around, what could go wrong. When Lucie and Tim, attend a dog show for one of her clients they encounter a dognapping that may be relating to the dog napping ring. Springing into action, the gang, Lucie, Tim, Ro, Joey and Co. all band together to rescue Oscar. This is a lighthearted, humorous, quirky, quick mystery.
Dog Collar Limbo by Adrienne Giordano Lucie Rizzo Mystery #2.5
Lucie has a mystery to solve again in this short story that has her pitted against a dog thief. Lucie is using a dog show to push her Coco Barknell Boutique items while supporting one of her dog walking customers when said customer disappears and then the hunt is on. With the help of Tim – her current boyfriend, her brother Joey, and BFF Rhonda they search high and low in hopes of returning Otis to his owner. This fun, easy and quick to read story is half a day in the life of Lucie and a nice gap-stopper between books two and three.
Thank you to the author for the copy to read and review. I have not read the other books in this anthology but have read some of the authors’ work and believe it will be varied and fun with something for everyone.
Dog Collar Limbo by Adrienne Giordano This is a funny short story with lots of mystery, romance and tons of humor. This is a very well written story and the mystery of the beloved Otis being kidnapped and the team is on the hunt to solve the mystery and bring Otis before it is too late. Being a short story there isn’t a lot you can say without giving the story away. I really enjoyed this book and this author who pulls you in giving you a wonderful read. I have so enjoyed all the Dog Collar books as I am sure you have. If you want a wonderful story with an outstanding plot than be sure to pick up Red Sole Clues which has many wonderful author in an outstanding box-set.
Dog Collar Limbo by Adrienne Giordano Otis is dog-napped but Lucie and crew are on the job. A cute short novella with the mob princess out-foxing the kidnappers. Previous reading of the series not needed. Cute.
Dog Collar Limbo (renamed "Limbo"), A Lucie Rizzo Novella, #2.5 in the mystery series by Adreienne Giordano
I read this novella in one sitting. In this episode, Lucie's favorite client (Oscar, the Olde English Bulldoggee) is entering a dog show --not in the breed sections, but in a special, all comers welcome talent show. At the show, after Oscar's performance, Lucie, Tim, Ro and Joey go backstage to meet with Oscar and his owner, Mrs. Lutz. You may remember from the second book in the series that Mr. Lutz was Lucie's former boss, who had to fire her in a downsizing, then helped her get started in her dog-walking business. He then involved himself in a shady art fraud and went off for a bit of a vacation at a state-owned and operated facility, so he is not in this episode. Also not in this episode is Frankie, who, again, as we learned in book #2, has done the one thing he'd said he'd never do -- left his hometown of Franklin, IL, to take a job in NYC. But, I digress. In this between the episodes episode, Oscar is dognapped when Mrs. L steps away from her assigned area for a minute or two. Panic and chaos ensue as our gang of 4, plus Mrs. L, go on the search for Oscar and his dognapper. Will they find him before the dognapper gets away?
This episode was fun. No one but Oscar was every really in physical danger -- and the danger to Oscar was intangible. What did the dognapper want him for? The supposition was that Oscar would be sold to another client, so the danger lay with the character (unknown in this book) that might adopt him.
A quick read that tied up some of the loose ends from Book #2 and opens the door for Book #3.
You cannot help but love Lucie Rizzo...there is just something about her that is endearing. Having her involved with Detective Tim O'Brien (O'Hottie according to Ro) is so darn sweet and really pulls at the heartstrings. That they are such an unlikely pair due to her family and his profession, makes them so much more fun.
It's refreshing to read a series that is wholesome, yet so very entertaining. Ms Giordano does a wonderful job of moving the story along at a fast pace, injecting humor at just the right moment, but what makes her writing so entertaining, is that these humorous moments aren't forced; just pure hilarity through a mixture of the characters' dialog and the current circumstances.
I truly hope that Ms Giordano plans a long series for Lucie, I can see myself reading about her exploits for many books to come.
This book was provided by the author for my honest review.
I am not usually a fan of short fiction but Adrienne Giordano is always on my Must-Read-Immediately list for anything she writes. Limbo has the added impetus of DOGS in addition to a couple of hot guys. In this fast paced, well plotted story, Otis is participating in a talent show for dogs; his special talent, doing the limbo in a Hawaiian shirt. Is that not irresistible? Someone finds it so irresistible that THAT someone can't resist stealing one of Lucy's favorite clients. This delightful gang of friends pulled me into a crazy mystery and I had a ball spending the day with them. I read this book under the original title, Dog Collar Limbo.
I don’t think I like this installment as well as I like others but I did find it interesting and entertaining. I do like Tim a lot and I think he and Lucy will make a good team. And of course there’s row and Johnny who always add a little bit of extra fun to the max. I love the different dogs that she talks about throughout the series. They each have their own quirks and idiosyncrasies but she writes about them with affection…
I would consider this more of a novella not a book but it was still classic Lucie and gang. What’s confusing to me is that book 5 left us with Lucie and Tim in a serious relationship but this book acts like they just started dating. So, I don’t see this as a sequel to book 5, I honestly don’t know where it goes in the order of the series. It’s still good though.
This is a novelette as opposed to a whole book. I will be using it as my measure for other novels. It proves to me that whether a book/shirt story/novelette is a prequel or a between the books it can be a decent read. It can be an enjoyable read and not just words on a page without any substance. I enjoyed this story.
When Lucie's favorite client, Otis, is stolen from a dog talent show, she is determined to track down the dog thief and rescue Otis. The adventures of Lucie and Ro are always hilarious! I love the Lucie Rizzo Mysteries series!
The gang goes to a dog show and Otis is dog-napped. I liked the interaction and the crazy of the search, but the book ended abruptly and I have a feeling most of the case will carry over to the next book.
A perfect short mystery for Lucie. During a dog show, Ottis is snatched. Lucie and her new detective boyfriend are hard on the trail. A delightful romp.
Delightful tale of a dog show mystery. Lucie and Tim make a dynamic duo who follow it through from start to finish. I look forward to reading more of this series.
What's not to love about Dog Collar Limbo by Adrienne Giordano. In this novella, Lucie and her new boyfriend Tim the Oh so Sexy Detective, along with Lucie’s brother Joey and her best friend Ro, attend a local Dog Show. The gang is at the dog show to sell some of Lucie’s pet accessories as well as to cheer on the lovable dog Otis. Otis's is one of the dogs Lucie and her team walk on a daily bases (they walk dogs as well as sell personally designed pet accessories). If you follow the Lucie Rizzo mysteries series, you know wild times are ahead because where Lucie and the gang go, craziness always seems to follow and this novella doesn’t disappoint in that department. It’s a funny mystery with Lucie and the team at the their finest.
I really enjoyed the short story about a woman who is not going to let someone steal a dog on her watch. I was not previously familiar with the character of Lucie Rizzo but am now a fan. She is a really interesting character. She is the daughter of a mob boss and is dating a Chicago police detective. She has a crazy best friend. She is still in the early stages of her relationship with her boyfriend and things are definitely heating up for them both. In this story, one of the dogs she dog walks is stolen from the show and she intends to hunt down the thief. It is a really fun read.

In this fast paced, well plotted story, Otis is participating in a talent show for dogs; his special talent, doing the limbo in a Hawaiian shirt. Is that not irresistible? Hoopla Digital Audiobook from Public Library Publisher: Findaway Voices Published Date: 2020 Lucie Rizzo is working hard to increase her dog walking business and left the mob princess reputation to start over. Lucie's father is out on parole making things difficult at home & with her boyfriend who is a detective. Lucie thinks she will be safe going to a dog show to show how well she does with dogs but her client's dog gets dog napped and the hunt is on the the dog and dog napper. I good short story.
This short story really gives you a great idea of how awesome and entertaining Lucie's group is. Their antics are hilarious, and they always have some sort of situation to deal with. Plus, you are guaranteed to find cute dogs in the series. You can't go wrong with a Lucie Rizzo story, and this is a perfect way to give it a try. I can't wait to see what happens next! I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Lucie gets better with each tale (tail?) and I love Otis showing up in each.. I’m not sure I could go on with another Lucie story without him now! This little extra to the Lucie capers of the Dog Collar Crimes, made me happy to read. I’m thrilled to see Tim “McHottie” still making a go of it with our Luce. And gawd love Ro! She says all of the things that you want your best friend to say. You can almost hear it in that Jerssaaay accent too.
Great read! Perfect for tying you over while you wait for the next full novel to come out.
I was given an ARC of Dog Collar Limbo by Adrienne Giordano, for a review.
Dog Collar Limbo is a fun short story, showcasing that even a seamlessly normal day for Lucie & the gang can end up being anything but. D.C.L. is full of spunky fast paced mystery with sparks of hilarity & interesting interactions that we have come to expect from Lucie, Ro, Joey, Detective O’Hottie & the ever lovable Otis.
This was such a fun novella. If you like the Lucie Rizzo Mystery series then you need to give this one a read. It is a fun mystery that keeps you turning pages and excited about being part of the team that helps bring down the villain. I am really starting to love Detective Tim O'Brien in this one, too!
