Compared to the first book, this one was a bit more uninteresting. Where in the first book the reader is treated to a variety of monster girls, in this second volume the first half is spent dealing with Harpies. Though it was interesting to see how the harpies went about their life, and the continuation of one of the characters, the setting was fairly uninteresting and not a lot really happens until the later part of the story.
I did enjoy certain elements of the story, like the inclusion of the unique colouration of a harpy's feathers and the friendship/rivalry between one of the new characters and our lamina protagonist. (being vague to prevent spoilers) I was surprised at how things played out however as by the end of the book when they return to the city it is like one giant family rather than competing love interests like I thought it should be.
The artwork in this volume also felt off. There were a couple pictures where the perspective seemed to be cutting out more of the picture and left it feeling unfinished. Where the first book had the scenes beautifully shown, they were not even close to the clarity in this volume.
In the end, I didn't enjoy this book as much as I did the previous one, and I am hoping volume 3 ends up being better, with more variety in the monster girls it includes. For those of you who like monster girls, I am sure you will continue reading this series like I am. That said, I could see the author losing a fair number of readers at this book, which is a shame as the world they have created is one that has a lot of potential.

Better than the first and the first was awesome. The book is about what happened to 1 one the harpies they saved in chapter 3 / Case 03 of Vol. 1 . Again like in Vol. 1 the epilogue seems like just another chapter in and of itself to make them 4 chapter books instead of 3 chapters long. I do suggest reading the epilogue of this one too as it is funnier in a situational comedy way of funny than the majority of the book.

I admit that some of the joyous sparkly sequins have now fallen off this conceit of a novel. Nothing really changes in Volume 2, except for the setting: Instead of being in the city, Dr. Glenn and his resolutely heterosexual sidekick Saphee (I do hope that name gets explained at some point) set off for a small village halfway up a nearby mountain. They’re on a medical mission to take care of harpies in the village who are too ill or injured to fly down to the city for treatment, and in particular, an obnoxious pubescent girl-harpie whose feathers are falling out.
Now, calling a woman a ‘harpie’ is not a compliment. I was wondering about the origin of this term and turned to the wondrous world of nature, looking up Harpy Eagles. Did you know these birds, indigenous to Central American rainforests, have talons that are longer than a grizzly bear’s claws? That they can fly up underneath their prey, flip over in midair and grab them from underneath? That they have two fovea in each eyeball, allowing them 4X the visual resolution that we humans have? Fascinating stuff, but other than their size (females are twice the size of males) and life-sustaining expertise in ripping out entrails, no reason I can think of to compare them to women of nasty disposition.
Digging deeper, I learned that harpy eagles were actually named in 1758 by Carl Linnaeus, whose inspiration was a mythological Greek creature with the face of a woman and body of an eagle. So the monsters in this book are true to the Greek myth and not to the modern rainforest, though the harpies in the book (obnoxious teen excepted) are kindly and accommodating.
Okay, enough about the plot. I am beginning to sense that the author’s views on human sexuality are shaped more by watching porn than interacting with any actual human women. Part of this stems from the way all the patients, regardless of age, occupation or even species, want to offer themselves to Dr. Glenn. This view is further bolstered by the many scenes in which the girl-monster’s faces and chests are splattered with…well, let’s not be gross. It’s not a sexual fluid, in this book, though clearly both the author and illustrator were paying homage to one of the porniest of porn tropes.
I think the best joke in Vol. 2 may have actually been unintentional.

Following up on her words, Kay took Glenn’s hand. With a swift motion, she slipped his hand underneath her clothes. He felt silky smooth skin and soft hair brush his fingertips. He thought it must be her stomach.Yeah, almost impossible, buddy.
Indeed, Kay was sliding Glenn’s hand across her hourglass stomach. He felt the interchanging human skin and chestnut hair, a texture almost impossible to feel on a human’s body.

*Spoiler Warning*
So I decided to take another foray into the world of the Monster Girl Doctor after loving the first one so much, and honestly, I really enjoyed this one too. If I had to compare volumes 1 and 2, i would say that 2 was only SLIGHTLY less good than the first. but not by much.
Like the first volume, it was broken up into 4 stories. The first was one of the three centaur ladies getting a sprained ankle. This by far was the slowest of the four stories. We find out about how the three centaurs interact with each other and how they basically psychologically all need each other. I feel like this could have been about 5-10 pages shorter. that doesn't seem like much, but when the story is about 60 pages, you feel it.
The second story is about a harpy girl (the one from the first book with the impacted ovaduct) who's upset that she's molting and can't fly. This one was all right, but the resolution that she was just getting special feathers because she's descended from a phoenix was a little bit underwhelming.
The third story was about an arachnid lady who's trying to get inspiration for her clothing line by either capturing the phoenix girl or mating with Glenn (the doctor). And honestly, i liked this story. it had nothing to do with medicine, but it was still fun.
The fourth story was about a giantess that has a cold, and honestly, this was very cute. i liked this story. It was short, but the shy giantess was adorable and it was nice to see the doctor actually help somebody who was sick.
Overall, the stories were short enough to be cute and didn't overstay their welcome. To be honest, the biggest problem i have with this series in general is the Naga girl. She's one of those 'super into the main character' archetypes that gets jealous at the drop of a hat even though they're not a couple. She reminds me a LOT of the naga from Monster musume and i didn't like her either. Which is a shame, because i like nagas. I know the naga girl has some kind of deadly disease which i honestly wish would just take her out as she's quite annoying with her constant jealousy with a guy you're not even in a relationship with.
I DO like the development they gave the centaur girl who likes the doctor as well as the characters of the spider girl and the giantess.
I have a feeling they're probably going to do the annoying thing eventually of pairing him with the naga that he'll magically heal, but i'm hoping the author won't be THAT transparent and obvious. i'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he won't be THAT lame.
Overall though, DEFINITELY enjoyed it and I have already ordered the third book. 4.5/5 rounded up to a 5.

Glenn and Sapphee are sent to a harpy village in the mountains near the city, both to help the harpies in general and to examine Illy (the harpy he saved in v1) specifically. Things don't go as planned. Minor earthquakes make the trip itself more challenging, Illy seems to be avoiding the doctor and to complicate matters a new monster (girl) appears.
Much like volume 1 there are a couple of main cases, each for 1 monster girl, with a bit of world building and character development. There were a few eyeroll moments, most notably when describing the webbing that just felt weird. The other (monster girl) harem tropes were to be expected, sometimes funny, sometimes just feeling old and stale. Still overall it was a good and entertaining read.

Another fun time practicing medicine with Dr. Glenn and Sapphee. Many of the same faces from volume 1 with some new ones to make it even crazier. Great read.

I will say the Spider girl is well kinda terrifying. She need help before she does something stupid again. The story right now is about building relations and well increasing the boy harem size. With all that being say there 2 characters who declare their love several times but he not dense about that one. There nothing he can do about it right now but in the future it will be interesting when that is not longer the case.
PS I WANT MY DRAGON GIRL DAMMIT!
