WHAT WE FIND
Under extreme pressure, neurosurgeon Maggie Sullivan knows she needs to slow down before she burns out completely, and the best place she can do that is Sullivan’s Crossing. But on arriving at the stretch of land and charming general store, Maggie finds she must take on an unexpected responsibility. When a quiet and serious-looking hiker, Cal Jones, offers to lend a hand, Maggie is suspicious of his motives—until she finds out the true reason for his deliberate isolation. As they spend time together, Maggie is given hope for something brighter in the future, if only they can learn to find peace and healing…and maybe even love.
ANY DAY NOW
For Sierra Jones, Sullivan’s Crossing is meant to be a brief stopover. She’s put her troubled past behind her but the path forward isn’t yet clear. Cal and Maggie welcome her into their busy lives and she quickly finds herself bonding with Sully, the quirky campground owner who is the father figure she’s always wanted. But when her past catches up with her, it’s a special man and an adorable puppy who give her the strength to face the truth and fight for a brighter future. Sierra will learn to cherish the family you are given and the family you choose.

This is a great collection of the first 2 books in the series! In the first one Maggie has hit a wall as a neurosurgeon who has too many problems ganging up on her at once. She goes to her father's campground to decompress a little. When she gets there, her father has a heart incident. Things escalate from there. During all this time, Cal is camping and then helping out at the campground.
In the second story, Sierra has been through rehab and almost a year sober, when she decide to move to Sullivan's Crossing to be near her brother Cal. Connie (short for Conrad) has lived here all his life and is a first responder. He immediately likes Sierra, but she has had so many problems in her life that she is cautious. Both stories are mostly leisurely paced story with a hopeful tone and a character oriented storyline with some sexy but not overly detailed scenes and a few action scenes. The characters are vibrant and engaging. If that sounds good to you, start with this collection, and at this point there are 3 more after this in the series. Enjoy!
Books one and two in the Sullivan’s Crossing series; another hit.
In Book one we meet Cal and Maggie and Maggie’s dad Sully. Cal has had a tragedy in his life and a strange upbringing. He is headed for the Continental Divide Trail to do a walk about. Maggie is hanging out at her dad, Sully’s campground at the base of all those trails thru Colorado. She is a neurosurgeon and needs a break while her partners are in legal trouble and she is being sued in a wrongful death suit.
Book two has Cal’s sister Sierra a year out of rehab and looking to hang out with her big brother and his wife Maggie. Sully is the dad she never had and loves working the campground with him. She meets Conrad, aka Connie a firefighter, paramedic, search and rescue volunteer. It is a slow and steady courtship. Both have relationship baggage. Molly, an adorable dog is the glue here. Side character Tom and Lola start a friendship. These two divorced single parents have remodeling houses in common. Excellent series.
More tales of Sullivan’s Crossing and its residents.
I love the Crossing, Sully his family and the numerous other familiar friends and families. I devoured these 2 books because I couldn’t wait to see who did what, how it turned out and what happened next.
Small town at its best. People who everyone knew, people everyone depended on. I wish they were my neighbors.
Feeling like extended family after reading this one
Beware: this book is highly addictive and will be a very quick read as you’ll never want to put it down. I watched the series on the CW and Netflix and became so involved I had to read the books (kind of a backwards approach). Literally want to sit down for coffee or dinner with this family. Enjoy!
Love the characters and the caring they have for each other. The characters are so real. I can't wait to read the next book in the series to see what happens next. It is a town I would love to live in.
Sullivan's Crossing books are as great as the 21 Virgin River books!
Sullivan's Crossing is ever bit as wonderful as the town of Virgin River! Robyn Carr crafts wonderful stories with well developed characters and rich plot lines!
This book hooked me big time. A story of real difficult times overcome with hard determination and love. Sierra Jones is a great character! And Connie's love for her was sweet!
The stories of Cal and Sierra speak to the resilience of the human heart and the power of love. Great characters and fun plots with suspense and drama make for a fun read.
