Regent's Park Pack #4

Bitten by the Alpha

Rate this book
Gareth’s heart is set on Cam, but Cam’s heart broke a long time ago.

As alpha of the Regent’s Park Pack, Cam’s focus is always centred on its members—his personal life pushed aside after the death of his wife. Now that his pack has merged with the Primrose Hill shifters, he can't afford any distractions.

Gareth’s been in love with his alpha for years, but his position as beta complicates matters. Added to the fact Cam still mourns his late wife, Gareth knows his feelings will never be reciprocated, so he buries them deep.

With the two packs already struggling to unite under one alpha, they get a surprise addition—one who causes more tension within the ranks. Under such strain, long-kept secrets are forced into the open. Gareth and Cam must deal with the aftermath, while also keeping the pack’s best interests at heart.

I am a huge fan of this series, and I have really been looking forward to this book...the story of the Alpha of the Regent's Pack... Cam... sigh. I've had a little crush on Cam since book 1. I always found him so mysterious. He was always tough and caring at the same time. The perfect Alpha for a pack ;)

https://www.google.com/search?q=alpha gif

I also knew from previous books that he wasn't a stranger to love and loss. Cam loved his wife dearly and when she passed 10 years ago....his heart shriveled up and died as well....

Cam hasn't had it easy being the Alpha of the Regent Pack. They have been through so much lately, you would think, that they finally deserve some quiet time..... You would be wrong though :P

https://www.google.com/search?biw=1366

They are about to be joined by a new (temporary) member....one they didn't see coming, and old enemies are about to stir up some more shit....

https://www.google.com/search?biw=1366

But that's not all.....

Cam finally finds out about Gareth's feelings for him and he is about to find out what a "shifter bond" really means !!!

These two were awesome together, just as I expected them to be !!! They were swoony and HOT and all about the MINE ;)

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor mine gif

They definitely burned up the pages !!

I enjoyed everything about this story. It was HOT, sweet, mysterious and even funny at times. The side characters were awesome as always, even the evil ones :P

I hope there will be plenty more books in this series and I highly recommend it to everyone who loves MM shifters. I also recommend starting with book 1, since these books have a continuing storyline ;)

At this point I was invested, so I just kept going. No pare, sigue sigue. 👯‍♂️👯‍♂️

Anyways, this one was not good and I found the perfect phrase to explain why:

"For the last ten years, he’d been living in the past".

Meaning that for the last ten years, Cam had been grieving his death wife, he was just an alpha, doing his alpha duties, not looking right and left for love. Then suddenly, in two days, he creates a bond with Gareth, a bond that in this world only starts if the two people like each other, so where the hell that came from? Where was the love? You have three other books where nothing is hinted at, you have wolf shifters that can smell arousal a mile away and neither of them knew that Gareth was in love with his alpha? Not even said alpha with his superpowers? Come ooooon, that's too illogical!

And then Cam just accepts it so easily that I just couldn't deal, specially when this gem came out:

"what he felt for Gareth was far stronger than anything he’d felt with Mia".

Authors, there is no need to tarnish a past lover to make the new lover shine, seriously stop that
NO NEED!! And well, this after ten years of not feeling a thing and then two days of being in laaave, no man, nope!!!

Still the pack dynamics saved the book, it was the least impressive one but yeah, not a bad series after all. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I love the world Annabelle Jacobs has created in the Regent's Park Pack series and have been waiting for Cam's story since book 1.

Bitten by the Alpha doesn't work as a standalone. This story wraps up a plot thread—related to a rogue alpha and his evil, deceitful ways—that began in book 1. In book 3, that alpha and his accomplice got their comeuppance, but I suspected we hadn’t seen the end of them.

Cam is not happy that some of his newest pack members are still in touch with their former alpha, especially when he finds out the sick bastard wants to talk to him. Cam doesn't feel he's done the best job integrating the P pack into his own, and the last thing he needs is more complications, particularly the unwelcome pull of a potential mate bond.

Gareth has been in love with Cam for ages, but he's kept a tight lock on his emotions. Then jealousy and possessiveness rear their ugly head, and Gareth can't control his feelings any longer.

While I liked both MCs and was eager to see how they came together, I had a few niggles.

A new secondary character, a shifter named Rachel who's staying with the Regent's Park pack temporarily, takes up a lot of page time. She’s the catalyst for Cam finding out about Gareth's feelings for him, but I didn’t necessarily need to know so much about her.

Cam is still grieving the loss of his wife Mia ten years later. I admire his loyalty; I really do. But Mia’s name was mentioned 45 times in the story, which was approximately 40 times too many.

I also wanted to see more relationship development between Cam and Gareth. They’ve clearly had an alpha/beta dynamic going for years and are close friends, but Cam went from cold to hot in two seconds flat. I didn’t mind this too much, since they’re shifters and the mate bond is everything, but it was still a little abrupt.

Bitten by the Alpha is slower paced than the first three books; there's plenty of UST on Gareth's part, but the chemistry between the MCs isn't quite as explosive as with the previous couples.

While this wasn't my favorite book in the series, I still enjoyed it. Recommended for lovers of the Regent's Park pack!

I had high expectations for this one, well this was The Alpha and his Beta's story so of course, I wanted it to be so good and it started really good but then I got bored. Another thing was I couldn’t feel their bond or their connection. I skimmed and skipped after 65%. Told in dual POV, 3rd person, it’s the fourth installment in the "Regents Park Pack" series (and my least favorite so far) and should be read in order. Overall, it didn’t live up to my expectations but I hope you enjoy it more than me!

While all of the previous books in this series felt full of energy, suspense and action, the relationship between these two MC's landed with a bit of a thud for me.

The first two books, were all cloak and dagger, full of action and intrigue, which really kept me on the edge of my seat as to what fresh hell was going to happen next.

Then the third book was where it all came to a head, everything blew the fuck up, The Big Bad was finally exposed and got his well-deserved comeuppance.

*cough-recent-events-cough-sound-familiar-cough*

But this book felt more like the less interesting "stuff" that happened in the aftermath of that kerfuffle.

So while I liked both Cam and Gareth fine as side characters, seeing them thrown together as a couple just felt forced to me, with Gareth coming across as a bit too needy and Cam coming across as somewhat obligingly invested.

I don't know, but I suspect that what I felt was missing was the newness of seeing MC's -- who had absolutely no past history -- falling completely and undeniably for one another.

This wasn't a bad story, just less engaging than any of the previous three, so I'd rate it at around 3 stars.

2? 2.5? 3?

?????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I don't know how to rate this thing.

It's not dissimilar to its predecessors in the basic formula: one of the men is more into the other initially, they spend more time together which leads to pining and bing, bang, boom we're at mine-ing, marking, scenting with a final destination of bonded mates who constantly crave each other.

This formula has worked for me in the previous two books, so I'm stumped as to what the deal was here. Maybe I just wasn't in the right headspace for it. It did take me a long time to get through it for various reasons and that sometimes stymies my connection to the story.

Damned if I know.

What I do know is NO systems were a-go while reading Cam and Gareth's story of everlasting lurve. Not my head or my squishy marshmallow heart or even my loins. Nothing. I felt like an automaton and I truly am baffled as to why.

I like Cam. Gareth seems like a decent fellow. They're hot for each other. There's not a lot of push pull between them. Cam has zero angst about finding himself attracted to a man. They're refreshingly honest with each other about their feels. All things I'm ordinarily happy about.

Without doubt the sub-plot I found boring and though I'm not displeased with the outcome I still found myself having to hit the suspend disbelief button.

What I definitely liked was Rachel and the fact that Cam's connection to his deceased wife wasn't minimized. I thought Jacobs handled the issue with respect rather than dismissing it as no match for his bond to Gareth. I hate when previous relationships are downplayed in favor of the current one.

Regardless of my lackluster response to this installment I still love the Regent's Park Pack and this world that Jacobs has created so I'm going to write this off as a fluke and look forward to the next one.

Best one yet! Full review to come tomorrow when I'm at the laptop.

Righty. So Cam and Gareth. I've been dying for this one (even more than Alec's story) ever since Book One and I have to say Annabelle delivered it in spades!

Alpha Cam Harly hasn't had life easy in the past 10 years, he lost his human wife in the Pack Wars, his Pack's unwanted feud with the neighbouring Primrose Hill Pack has resulted in prison for their ex Alpha and the merging of the two packs, and he's closed off his inner wolf to anything other than business.

But it's never that simple.

One of the other great things about this world setting is the lack of drama over sexuality, the pack's don't really care who hooks up with who in most cases, but in this one, the prime driver of the secondary plot revolves around an old-fashioned Alpha who has issues over wasting the chance of offspring when his daughter falls for Rachel, daughter of the neighbouring pack's Alpha and a Beta in her own right.

I really liked Rachel, who is sent off to the Regent's Park Park to get her out of the way of the temptation of her potential bond with the unflexible Alpha's daughter Sara (and I actually wouldn't mind at all a book which gives her a HEA!)

Gareth's been in love with Cam for years but, as one of his trusted Betas, he's buried those feelings deep inside. Rachel's arrival in the Pack, as he doesn't know about her relationship with Sara, brings an involuntary reaction when his wolf identifies her as a potential threat as a mate for Cam and suddenly he can't hide them any more and now his Alpha knows his secret.

I've always loved how Cam was willing to put himself above all else but he's not a martyr to his cause, he truly believes that the Pack should be first in all things. He's had love, and lost it, and he's so scared of living with the pain again that he ignores his feelings for his steadfast Beta.

Wolf shifter behaviour in this series has always fascinated me as well, Annabelle's shifters aren't driven by their animal in quite the same way as in other books I've read. Their animals are inside them, a conscious awareness which influences but which they can usually control.

But when it comes to potential bonded mates - a fairly rare occurrence - all bets are off and Gareth's wolf isn't going to passively let the chance of forever slip by. The results are unintentional but when Gareth's jealousy bursts out I have to say I was cheering inside! Then the MINE takes over and the heat ramps up!

There's a lot of emotions in this Regents Park Pack series and it works perfectly. Their wolves are emotionally driven, whether that's positive or negative, and there's all sorts of delicious tension ramping up between the two men as they continue to deal with the fall of out of Alpha Newell of the P-Pack's treacherous behaviour.

The bonding process isn't smooth either and both Cam and Gareth are stuck in a kind of limbo until, inevitably, the emotions boil over and suddenly they're sexing all over the place and I have to say, I don't think there's many shifter books I've read which are as good as Annabelle's at laying down the intensity of a mating bonded pair going for it ;)

When Cam and Gareth finally give in to their wolves while out on a full moon run, let's just say it burns up the pages and hits combustible levels. The mate bite scenes are erotic and powerfully emotional.

I really, really, really hope this isn't the end of the Regents Park Pack shifter series. I've loved every single one of the books in this setting and there's still potential for more. Luke, Jason, Will, Harry, Rachel...

I was really looking forward to Cam's story. Him being the alpha and slightly more mature.
I wondered how he manages to keep up his very calm and powerful MO. .And above all, how he keeps control. And how he might lose it.

I don't know how to say this because it hurts, but I am not sure Annabelle Jacobs fully answered all these questions. I loved the UST on Gareth's part (that was really well done), but I have not the slightest idea how, why, when Cam changed his mind about the 'potential' bond.
Yes, he had a couple of conversations that are aimed to put his priorities into the right direction, but ultimately - he seemed to go from 'I know I don't feel anything for you' to 'yeah, let's bite and bond' in 0,5 seconds.

I still enjoyed the book, but not as much as book 1 and 2. (There are lots of repetitive things going on) and I keep wondering about some of the things I wanted addressed like:

- what really changed Cam's mind? I wanted to see him finding some emotions for Gareth, something that acknowledged his feelings deep down before he was faced with Gareth's declaration of love.
- Cam had a wife before. But now he fancies a guy. Bi-sexuality was never mentioned. Having 'new' sex with a man was never an issue. Obviously shifters don't have a problem with either, but it was not explained. It all just happened. No questions asked.

I really liked this series. I liked the world Annabelle Jacobs presents and all the rules and regulations that govern the shifters' world. And I would be happy to recommend the series as a whole, although I enjoyed book 1 and 2 most.

I'm in love with this series. Annabelle Jacobs have created such an interesting world. I've also been looking forward to Cam and Gareth's book since I read the first book. It didn't disappoint. This one was less action packed and more focused on Cam and Gareth and the mating between the two of them. It worked really well. If you are binging the series you would need a little break from the action right about now. You should read this series in order.

This was still pretty good but I wasn’t feeling the romance or chemistry between the mcs. Their relationship felt underdeveloped and sudden, and also their page time felt crowded by Rachel’s story and mentions of Mia (Cams first wife who died). The plot also fell a bit flat for me and there was some similarities to the previous books that seemed repetitive. Still enjoying the dynamics of this series despite this not being my fave book in it.

I love this series and was chomping at the bit for this book, I mean come on, who didn't want Cam to find his HEA and wow, what a HEA it is. Can't recommend this enough.

Will this be the last we hear from the Regent's Park Pack? I hope not, I'd love this series to just keep going, there are quite a few characters I'd love to hear more from...I'd especially love to know how Rachel gets on.

I know there's another book set in the same world coming out this year so perhaps this isn't goodbye...

I absolutely love this world that the author has created and am in love with all the characters!! I felt the drama outside of the MCs relationship was done very well and overall I really enjoyed this book. The only reason why it’s not 5 stars for me is because I felt like Cam and Gareth weren’t really more than friends. At least not on Cam’s side. It kinda felt like.. “oh yeah he’s a great person and I trust him and he loves me.. so I might be into him?” I was just kinda hoping for a “I can’t stop thinking about him.. I can’t be without him any longer” kind of thing from Cam’s side. And it does get a lot better in that aspect once they actually bond but I was kinda hoping for the love to be felt before the “freaky shifter magic” as Seb calls it.

( Possible spoilers? )

What was up with the night they decided to bond?? Like it felt kinda underwhelming :( and we don’t even really get the sex scene when they bond! Like I was expecting some freaky forest sex but nope just a couple wanks and then it’s the morning after :( oh well I’m just a perv. I also kinda wanted to see more of the characters from previous books and how they were doing. We didn’t get to see Mark or Seb and only Jared for a little bit.

But overall I did really enjoy this book and I will 100% recommend and be on the lookout for more from this author and I sincerely hope she continues writing books in this shifter world. Just hope there is a bit more love between characters in possible upcoming books!

You know those books that you never want to end? The stories that you could blissfully lose yourself in time and time again. Then you think its over and begin to grieve but THEN you’re overjoyed to discover there is in fact MORE! *sappy grin* Yeah, that’s me and Regent Park Pack. I felt like I won the lottery when I found out Cam and Gareth were going to have their own book. Thrilled doesn’t even begin to cover it. The last book was amazing. I was blown away and was slightly apprehensive that Jacobs could maintain the same epic feels that she delivered in book 3. Ha! Silly me. There was no reason to have any concerns because she came blazing yet again. High voltage emotions with carnal mating practically scorched my kindle and I couldn’t get enough!

What's to like: As I said before, Jacobs not only excels with her incredible realm but surpasses all other shifter series in my opinion. The man, the wolf, the shift…she covers it all with a masterful hand. One of the many things I enjoy about shifters is how close they are to their family, their pack. As this series is already developed, we are intimately familiar with six of the pack members and it filled my heart seeing them on page again. We are introduced to a new pack member and it appears her stay has been extended. She saunters into the story with a sassy attitude but after we peel back her layers, it’s easy to see her need for protection. The previous book was bursting with action-packed scenes. Although this latest installment isn’t shy on excitement and exhilarating scenes, adrenaline junkies will probably favor the previous book. However, I thought it was…just right.

What's to love: Cam. Gareth. Cam and Gareth. *sigh* I knew our beta had a challenging road ahead of him. Our beloved alpha has put the pack and their needs above his own for too long for him to remember what it’s like to have something just for him. Gareth has concealed his true feelings for his alpha exceedingly well for years but once they break free it’s like a flooding dam bursting. He can’t contain his instincts, his protective drive and his burning desire. Holy moonbeam was it HOT. Tough decisions must be made, by both men. I was rooting and cheering for them and couldn’t have been happier with the final chapters. There is sooo much to love with these guys and I pray to the book gods Jacobs isn’t finished with them yet. They are so responsible and grounded (ahem, most of the time), I envision them as marvelous dads. *double wink* but wherever they go next you can bet I’ll be sure to follow.

Beware of: This is NOT a standalone. Please don’t do yourself a disservice and try to read it without their history. It’s also important to settle into your patience pants. Cam shut the door on a huge part of his heart when he lost his mate a decade ago and opening it once more terrifies him to his core. Learning to love again is sometimes a painstaking journey but at the same time, it’s equally breathtaking.

This book is for: If wolves call to you, The Regent Park pack outdoes, outruns, and outshines every other shifter series I’ve read. If you aren’t familiar with them, you should become acquainted. Trust me, you won’t regret it. Start at the beginning and get ready for a remarkable ride. And give the guys my love please!

**drooly shout-out for the cover…all of them have been fabulous (props to Miss Snow) but this one burns into my soul.

Not feeling the bond....

So here I am at the end of my Regent’s Hill Pack binge (unless more novels are forthcoming). I was hoping for a grand finale, with me standing up and yelling for an encore! The key word in that previous sentence was “hoping.” Key because little came of my hope, my dream of finishing this book with a voice scratchy from yelling and hands stinging from clapping.

In fact, I felt more like those people you see leaving concerts and sporting events early, eschewing any thrill of an encore in exchange for a traffic free ride out of the parking lots.

Passion. This book lacked it. I didn’t feel my MCs, Alpha Cam and Beta Gareth. I’m sure they’re nice werewolves, but they lacked chemistry and depth. They had sex, and gawd, I can’t believe I’m actually telling you this....I skimmed it. I mean, come on! Who skims weresex? Bonding weresex with bites and fangs and blood? I do, I guess, because these two just didn’t tickle my fancy or anything else of mine. But like I said, they’re nice guys.

Plot...there is one, but the plots in the previous three books were more focused.

Sex...yes. Under the full moon sex, even. But less sex than in the other books.

Characters...MCs, nice guys. But, I need me a little more sexy, a little more dirty than “nice.” Some new characters are introduced—Rachel—that I liked and wondered what would become of them down the line.

Overall, the weakest of the four books. Still, this was a great series and I REALLY enjoyed the first two books.

Happy reading all!

This was definitely my favorite.

This is the story of how one wolf who was in love with his Alpha, which he thought was unrequited, gets to have everything he’s ever wanted.

While not necessarily content, Gareth planned on never letting anyone know of his secret. He was sure the feelings would never be reciprocated, and who needs the pain of being rejected.

When another alpha asks for help to temporarily give sanctuary to his daughter, Gareth’s jealousy forces his feelings out front and center. Cam does initially reject him, but with the help of the new pack member, and Alec, he’s forced to face his own feelings.

This story isn’t as action packed as the previous ones, but now Cam and his betas have to figure out how to unify his pack with P pack. He finds out Newell is causing strife from within the prison when some of the younger pack mates visit him.

I really did love everything about this. From how Cam was able to examine his feelings and give Gareth a chance, to the side plot concerning the new pack member, and the big climax and resolution to Newell’s interference.

I'm going to leave this one without rating for various reasons.

I've been wanting this book since book 1 because I wanted to know more about Cam, when I started I was so into it but something completely ruined it for me.

We are introduced to a new character in this book which seemed like a good idea but for me personally, it completely ruined the enjoyment of the book and it sucks because it's a strong female character and the potential for an ff romance and I love representation! but some decisions were made that just soured things for me...

Look, this character is new but it does get a LOT of page time, at first it didn't bother me until I felt like too much attention was placed on her instead of you know, the main characters. I didn't mind at first because like I said, strong female character yay! but then by the end of the book, she is promoted in the pack and it felt kinda forceful. This is the fourth book in the series, we know a lot of these guys but a new character gets a promotion? someone who supposed to be only a guest. and it sucks bad because it's a female kicking butt but I personally don't like things shoved in my face just because. If she appeared in the previous book then it's cool or the promotion happened in a future book, but this just didn't make any freaking sense.
Don't get me wrong, this has nothing to do with her being a woman, it's the fact that she's new and got more page time than freaking Garret (you know, the main character), her storyline had so much potential but the way she was forced down our throats just felt wrong.
These are my personal feelings, I'm sure a lot of people felt differently and maybe I am being dumb about it so that's part of the reason why I'm not giving a rating.

I cannot believe that I started the series most looking forward to Cam's story and when it actually came down to it, I think I liked his story way less than all the others.

The thing that bothered me most was the imbalance between Cam's and Gareth's feelings. I was actually feeling bad for Gareth at the end of the book. He was so genuine about his love for Cam and so noble about the whole unrequited thing. Poor guy *sigh* Whereas I didn't quite believe Cam's feelings were of the same intensity as Gareth's, he was conflicted for about 2 seconds before he was like 'Huh, a potential bond. Sure, why not?'. I got the feeling that what he liked best about Gareth was the potential bond and not Gareth, per se. It just didn't seem like he valued Gareth most out of everyone. I think that if it had been some other beta with the potential, he would've reacted the same.

So, yeah, that sucked. Because Gareth had been in love for years and he deserved someone to choose him for himself, not for the bond thingy. *sigh*

Also, it annoyed me a lot that Gareth had to give up his Beta status because, somehow, he couldn't be both Alpha's Mate and Beta. I'm sure a solution could've been found. The whole thing was left up in the air, like, what will his obligations and duties be? I wanted to know more. Ugh, I hated this sacrifice. It just made me think even more that his love for Cam was greater than Cam's love for him.

So, that's that. Curious to see who's next. Maybe Luke?

Less happened in this installment, it was more of a “cleaning up the prior drama” and how people reacted to that. Because of that, there was less action. Unfortunately, that bled into the relationship between Cam and Gareth, too. So much attention was paid to Cam and Mia’s relationship, and even Rachel’s situation, that Cam and Gareth’s relationship development suffered. It felt ho hum, like something that just happened instead of the blazing connection that it could have been between two powerhouses. Gareth said it best when he said he felt like all he did was wait. I felt like Gareth deserved more after all he’s been to so many during this series. It’s always tough to hit the balance with a new love after much beloved dead first spouse. Unfortunately, it fell short here. Poor G got the short end of the stick on a couple of fronts.

Advance copy courtesy of author etc etc.

OK so I enjoy this series very much and have gotten very invested with the characters in the fictional Regent's Park Pack over time. And here we are, finally with the Alpha's story.

Cam has been alone for 10 years since his wife died violently. She was human but for Cam, she was the love of his life and he has closed himself off feelings since her death - he can't face losing another loved one so it's better to be on his own.

Gareth is a beta in the pack and has served his alpha faithfully and competently for a decade. But Gareth has a secret - he's been in love with Cam since forever but has resigned himself to the feelings never being reciprocated, he's OK with just being near Cam as that's all he's going to get.

But a new arrival to the pack causes Gareth's feelings to bubble over and he ends up confessing how he feels to Cam - only for Cam to let him down gently. But the situation makes Cam search his own feelings for the first time in a decade and realize that maybe, just maybe cutting himself off from feelings is not quite such a good thing. Once the two give in to their feelings and bond, things don't just turn rosy overnight - they have to navigate being an Alpha and Beta in the same pack, being bonded for the first time in their lives and dealing with the usual outside trouble. It's a rocky road to a happy end though, because of course it is.

I have loved every single book in this series, I wish I could rate this more than 5 stars because it's just THAT GOOD. It's easily the best story in the series, like something you didn't know you needed until you got it. Cam has been the steady, strong Alpha throughout the series. Gareth the solid, dependable Beta - but reading between the lines all this time, neither has been particularly happy. And also what I loved about these two - they are not young twenty-somethings but men with scars (inside and out) and a lot of life experience between them (Gareth is thirty-seven and while I can't remember if Cam's age is mentioned anywhere but he must be at least that).

This feels like we've come full circle with the existing pack, I don't know if more stories are planned in this particular series (I know that there will be a new series set in the same world but different pack) - I wouldn't personally mind if there wasn't, this feels like a good ending. Although, if there will be more then I will be first in line to read them!

In short, 5 million stars for the best book in the series.

Enjoyable but nothing special – 3*

This 4th installment of the Regent Park Pack stories is super low angst. While it does pick up the story nearly right after the end of Bitten by Desire so little actually happens that I think it can be fairly easily be read as stand alone. Certainly the fact I had forgotten the finer points of the first three books did not hamper me.

This is Gareth and Cam’s story. Gareth has loved Cam for years but unfortunately Cam is still mourning his long deceased wife. I liked the sections with Gareth’s POV. Unrequited love is hard. He puts the needs of his unit and the pack as a whole above his own desires. However once his love is discovered things fall into place pretty quickly. It made sense how quickly Cam came to terms with this. He is the pack alpha and he is well versed in how mate bonds work. Despite how logical it all was it was still a bit too subdued.

There was a new character Rachel and I suspect if further books are written she will be a central character in the story arc. I would hope that former alpha Newell’s arc is now over. In many ways this book felt like a bridge. I hope if the series continues we get Jason and Paul’s stories.

Lord, whenever I think Annabelle Jacobs surprised me in a spectacular way in the last book she puts new unexpected twists on top - and guess what? I'm loving it. <3

Bitten by the Alpha is exactly what the title and the blurb promises: you get the bonding mate of the Alpha of the Regents Park pack, Cam and see how he and Gareth struggle to handle their duties as alpha and beta in the pack, trying to sail through uncharted waters.

I loved the thrill and tension right from the start. Garath is pretty honest with his feelings for his alpha but being a beta he is expected to act calm and collected, not infaturated, and definitely lusting after his alpha and head of the pack.
Where the first two books could be read as stand alones, from book 3, Bitten by Desire, on it isn't really possible without being lost on the details and this book is the direct continuation of the shocking events from book three even if the couple is a different.

The pack is handling the new changes, the pack is enlarged and with setting new positions and being confronted with the earthshattering outcomes from the latest events alpha Cam and his beta Gareth don't really have time to bond, to cherish their time together, to actually start a relationship. This is what they try - more or less successful - to tell themselves. But feelings and emotions aren't rational and they can't stop their destiny.

Annabelle Jacobs knows how to balance the tension out, the longing and the emotions Gareth has for Cam, and Cam on the other hand is dealing with his own past, with his own problems and still grieving for his late wife Mia that he isn't even thinking of bonding, ever, his alpha duties on the other hand keeps him more than occupied.

The book was a thrlling read, it has - again - twist and turns, emotional parts, funny parts and the character's closeness and the bond is there; between the mates, the pack and it's giving you a warm feeling, makes you happy.

I also loved that with this book we have a possible extension with other packs, also new possibilities in the bonding couples with Rachel being a pleasant surprise for example. So far females were very rare in the series, not really present on page with exception of Jenn in the last book - and they were of course there - but the focus was on the male couples. With Cam who was in a relationship with a woman, there is - even not directly mentioned on page - a display of bisexuality which I loved as well as a possible F/F pairing, at least I'd love to read it and really hope Annabelle Jacobs consideres it. :) Maybe we see a pleasant surprise; I'd buy it instantly.
Nontheless these new additions (on page, even not directly naming them) were promising and a joy for my heart. :3

5 out of 5 stars for this book and I really hope we see more of them... It can't be the end... at least I hope so. ;)
