Hiding from supernatural killers isn't easy, especially for 17-year old Abigail Kane, a young witch with no training. After a rival coven of witches murders her parents, Abby is sent into hiding at a boarding school in England, but is she really safe while her family is hunting down her parent's murderers?
When a new mystery unfolds on campus, it seems Abby isn't as removed from danger as she, or her grandmother would want. Suddenly thrust into a world of horrible visions, missing students, and powerful curses, does she have what it takes to survive? Abby must become a modern witch in a world of ancient secrets, before it becomes the end of the Kane legacy.

An excellent book to start off a new series, Cursed Legacy is the story of Abby, a young witch who faces a terrible tragedy that forces her to flee her home and face dangers on her own. The characters are inventive and interesting, and the climax of the book is gripping. Abby, her indomitable grandmother, Vivian, and the new friends who rally around Abby are all unique in their portrayal. The world of arcane magic nestled into the setting of an English boarding school makes the story fun for the reader and keeps the pages turning until the fast-paced ending. Looking forward to the second book!
Cursed Legacy is book one in a new series by Philip Jones. I believe this is his debut novel and that there are more books to come. Cursed Legacy is about witches, magic, family drama, murder and much more. There’s mystery, drama, a touch of romance and high stakes as Abigail Kane tries to hide from those that wish to end the Kane bloodline. While hiding from trouble, she stumbles upon a mystery at school that can’t be ignored. This is a young adult (YA) novel about a 17 y/o female witch becoming whom she was meant to be. Abigail is a bit on the immature side but I think readers will see her grow in maturity as the series continues. I recommend this book if you like YA fantasy, especially witches.
What a delightful storyline! There were a lot of characters to meet but it’s book 1 so we need to know the players involved. For a little while I thought maybe this was a young adult book but there was some tasteful adult scenes that were romantic and sweet. Filled with suspense I had to finish reading in one sitting! Several errors perhaps not found in proofreading but did not distract from the plot.
