Corps Security in Hope Town: Fast Forward

Rate this book
He was my best friend, my driving force. It was our last night together, and I screwed it all up. I know this. But I never thought he’d walk out on me no matter how hard I pushed. He did.

When Jarrett Dean, NHRA Funny Car driver speeds into Hope Town, the last person he expects to run into is Gineva Derosa. His Gin. His one true love.
No… the one who pushed him away. And now it’s time for answers.

Gineva planned on breezing into Hope Town for a couple of weeks to help her friend Sway clean up a mess he found himself in. That’s it. She never expected the past hitting her at full force and demanding answers to questions she didn’t want to touch.
But they touched her alright. She couldn’t fight the pull. Couldn’t deny the feelings.
So she pushed, but this time he wasn’t walking away.

Fast Forward is a Corps Security in Hope Town Kindle Worlds story. It’s filled with your favorite characters from the series along with some new ones you can’t help but fall in love with.
Welcome to Hope Town.

If you are a fan of “Corps Security,” or “Hope Town,” series by Harper Sloan, you’ve got to pick this one up! “Fast Forward,” is a Corps Security in Hope Town Kindle World accompanying novella.

This is the second novella I’ve read today, by this new to me author. The two just so happen to be accompanying stories to other series, but at the same time somewhat inner related. After reading “Flight Forward,” also by Piper Reagan, I had to know more about a side character Jarret. I figured I couldn’t go wrong with her writing style. SCORE! I couldn’t be more impressed!

I enjoyed this second chance romance from its first pages. In fact, I don’t think I ever even set my iPad down. It was funny, hawt, with great banter, and a storyline that kept me fully engaged! Sway, cracked me up! LOL

Jarrett, and Gineva...aka Gin and Juice, were best friends during their senior year of high school, and not long after graduation Jarrett had to move away, leaving his first love behind. Nine years later, they run into each other again in the most unlikely way. He’s now the newest hotshot in the NHRA, funny car division, and Gin, is a successful business woman in her own right. Their connection and chemistry hasn’t changed, and their time in Hope Town, GA brings them together better than before. I really enjoyed this story!

Humor - Steam - A Fantastic Romance!

Jarrett and Gineva started out as best friends in high school, two kids on the outs with the popular crowd who naturally gravitated toward each other.

description

...and they are hilarious! Then Jarrett has to move and they have one last night together. Gineva can't let him get away without asking him for one favor before he goes.

“I want it to be with someone I trust.”

description

And right after that night, their entire relationship falls to shit.

How did we go from best friends, to lovers, to worst enemies?

Fast Forward (wink) to many years later when race car driver Jarrett Dean comes face-to-face with the fiery Gineva in a little ole place called Hope Town, Georgia. He thought they'd left their past behind them but as men usually are...he was wrong.

And Gin did what she does best only this time Jarrett's not letting her get away.

“Fuck you, Jarrett Dean, you need to stay in the past where you belong.”
“Are you about done with your tantrum?”

description

*giggle* I love a man who doesn't get riled up by a woman in the throws of a full blown hissy fit.

Bottom line: The author writes these characters working through their unresolved heartbreak to their steamy reunion beautifully.

description

This is a must read for fans of Harper Sloan's Corps Security and Hope Town Series. You'll get reunited with all your faves including Sway, Nate, Beck, Lee, and more!

description

OH! Caleb and Honor from The Fighting Series have a cameo as well and Piper writes them in hilariously!

“Cuz or no cuz…get your damn hands off my wife.” Caleb walks in covered in sweat from his workout. “And put a fucking shirt on, asshole.”

Keep an eye on this debut author! I expect big things to come!

I didn't know if I should write a review at first because I was scared that I wouldn't do Piper's book justice...but then I decided that people needed to know how utterly AMAZING this book was.

Before I get into talking about the story and the characters let me just say that Piper writes with a grace of an author who has 15 books under her belt. She's so talented and you can clearly see she was meant to be an author. This is the second book I've read of hers and I was NOT disappointed.

Now on to the characters and the story. The story starts off with Jarrett and Gineva becoming friends. Over time their friendship grows and while they're best friends they also start developing feelings for each other. (I LOVE A GOOD FRIENDS TO LOVERS ROMANCE EPPPP). On their last night together Gineca lets her insecurities come between them and Jarrett walks away. What she doesn't know is Jarrett lets his insecurities get the better of him as well. Fast Forward a bit (hehe see what I did there) fate throws them back together again.

Jarrett is a sexy as hell race car driver. I love him he's just everything dreams are made of! He's got this possessive alpha side that had me swooning! Then he had this soft hearted side where he was vunerable...GAH I grew attached to him fasssst!

Gineva was stubborn and feisty. I related to her so much. When she felt vunerable or rather hurt she always put up walls and lashed out which is exactly what i tend to do. So naturally i had a deep emotional connection with Piper's character. Gineva also had a good heart on top of all of that. The characters find each other while in Hope Town. Gin is there helping Sway and Jarrett is out visiting family. I love how he fights for them even when Gin can't. I also love that we got to see LOADS of familiar faces from Hope Town ;)

The story was short, I devoured it in a couple of hours and in that time I felt EVERY emotion with these characters. I laughed with Gin and Jarrett and of course with Sway ;) ...I felt all teary when he walked out on Gin. I felt my heart skip a beat when they finally reunited...Piper just has a way with words. I wasn't ready for the book to end!

I have to admit though, when we have kindle world series I get nervous because I'm always scared that the author I'm reading will butcher the other author's characters. It was never the case with Piper. I love JB Salsbury and Harper Sloan and Piper did their characters justice. I felt she stayed true to everyone in Hope Town and to JB's couple as well. As I've said before she was just born to write. I hope you give her book a chance. I know you'll fall so hard and fast for Jarrett and Gineva just like I did.

Piper I love your face! And I want you to know that no matter what you decided to write in the future, I will always be there to support you. You now have a new fan and a new friend for life 💙

How fun was this story? I am a huge Corp Series fan and this was just the perfect contribution. Gin and Juice (Jarrett) met in high school and we're best friends until feelings got in the way. Jarrett's spent summers with he Hope Town family. Nine years later fate puts them into each other's path and Gin finds the "Corp" family who take her into their family. This story had the perfect balance of sweet and sassy. Loved it!

First read of this author’s work. I loved how she introduced us to Gin & Juice and used Hope Town as the back drop, bringing along some of Harper Sloan’s characters. Great read!

I am a huge fan of both Harper Sloan and JB Salsbury so when I found out that Reagan drops her characters right in the middle of a series from both of them, I was thrilled. This is the first book I’ve read from Reagan and I have to say, I’m impressed.

Reagan might be writing within the worlds of these other authors, but the characters she created and the story she delivered are most definitely hers. I like that this story felt like a part of the others but gave us something new. I really loved Gineva and Jarrett. They were best friends and maybe even something more at one point. Miscommunication, stubbornness, and youth drove them apart. Nine years later, a chance encounter brings them together again. The pain and heartbreak they both suffered was tangible. I liked that we were able to get a clear picture of their past relationship prior to seeing them in the present. I loved how easy they were with one another and close as they were as teenagers. Watching them struggle in the present was hard but I liked that things weren’t drawn out between them and we could focus on the story.

In addition to these fantastic characters, I was intrigued by the mystery Reagan introduced. It was a perfect way to bring in Corps Security as well as create another source of excitement. I knew there was something going on, but I wasn’t sure how serious it would be. She kept us interested without being on guard, somewhat lulling us into a sense of security. It was perfect.

While there were a couple issues I wished we could get a little more clarification about, I was beyond invested in this story. The writing, the story line, the characters, all of it. With one book, Piper Reagan has become an author I will be on the lookout for.

I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion.

When best friends cross that imaginary line between friends to become more, the line becomes pea-soupy. There’s no going back as the path is no longer visible and when jealousy and past experiences takes over all common sense.

Gin and Juice have been best friend from their first meeting. When Gin asks Juice for a “favor”, Juice gladly accepts. Juice knows Gin is it for him. One phone call changed everything faster than any funny car can clear a quarter mile. Old wounds ripped open and emotions associated with it makes Gin push Juice away. Juice tries to explain but Gin pushes him harder. Juice internalizes how Gin doesn’t want him and he focuses on his own experience with his mother leaving him hurt, angry and Gin too.

Fast forward…never in a million years that Gin would ever see Juice again, especially in Hope Town in Sway’s salon and in his chair fussing over him like only Sway can. But there he was and seeing his blue eyes, Gin falls and hits her head. Gin’s true feelings for Juice spills from her mouth before she realizes it and Juice hears it all. Juice’s feels the need to take care of her and protect her but most of all, he wants a do-over from 9 years ago. Juice is not walking away this time, that’s his Gin and it’s time to convince Gin too.

Love this! It’s well written and I enjoyed glimpse of the Fighting Series, Corps Security and Hope Town all wrapped up in a kickin package. There’s a familiar feeling of coming home that made me happy and put a smile on my face! It’s a must read but if you’re a fan of the Fighting Series, Corps Security and Hope Town Series, this book cannot be missed.

This is my first book my Piper Reagan, and her debut book but I know it definitely won't be my last. This goes back to Hope Town from Harper Sloans Corps Security series. This is one of my top favourite series so when i found out it was getting a kindle world I had to read them. It also has a J.B Salsbury kindle world character who I adored when I read his book. Jarrett is Caleb, from the fighting series by J.B, cousin. He's a racer who goes to visit his cousin and bumps into an old friend Gineva while staying in Hope Town. We see the history for these 2 before anything, and it was really sad because of the misunderstandings between them. i wanted to shake them both, and give Jarrett, or Juice as he was known to Gineva, a big hug. Gineva, Gin, was visiting Hope Town to see Sway, who if you've read the Corps Security books you'll know is pretty unforgettable. When they see each other again for the first time in years its definitely dramatic, and glittery, I'd expect nothing less of Sway. There's an unexpected drama that fit perfectly into the story, there's catching up with the Corps guys, and Honor and Caleb and seeing the Hope Town crew, Liam Beckett is hilarious. This is a five star read for me and I would definitely recommend it. This is a brilliant addition to the Hope Town kindle world. I just hope they bring these out in paperback because the cover is gorgeous and would look great on my book shelf LOL.

Let me warn you know, you will be humming a Snoop Dog tune the entire time you read. I loved the relationship between these two as teenagers. The new kid immediately grabbed a hold of Gin and wouldn't let go. But as teenagers you really don't know how to deal with life. These two show it very clear when they let each other go.

This second chance romance takes us back to our favorite town with our favorite people. I loved being back with Sway and gang. They did not disappoint with their care and love for each other. They quickly welcomed Gin into their group. Jarrett has been a part of this group for years but only around when he is near the track. We get to see his close relationship with his cousin Caleb, who you will remember from the JB Salsbury fighting series.

Jarrett and Gin get a moment and really talk about what happened. They find out what happened and why. Jarrett broke my heart talking about his relationship with his mother. As much as their attraction was still there, they did hash it all out.

I loved the story. I loved being back in Hope Town. I loved the writing and detail of the story. I hope we hear more from Piper and maybe a little more from this fabulous group of people.

This fun, flirtatious and fabulous read. They were best friends to lovers. But when you are young, you’re naive. Miscommunication, hurt and regret for 10 years does a lot to Gineva and Jarrett. When their paths cross in Hope Town, everything is off the table.

Gineva is in-town to help the very popular salon, Sway. Gin was a guru for a company who’s failing to turn back around. With Sway’s losing money, Gin is trying to find out why or even who is stealing. Who knew how close the ties lead to Hope Town. To say she was shocked to see Jarrett after 10 years, would be an understatement. Jarrett was in town for a race in nearby Hope Town. With family ties and close friends with Corps Security, Jarrett felt at home. But when his eyes landed on Gin, everything changed. To make the wrong right again. When the two reunite, it’s “fast forward”. The chemistry and passion are combustible. But nothing in life is hearts and flowers, when Gin discovers the money loss, and the famous Maddox comes to the rescue.

I really enjoyed Fast Forward. And especially seeing the crew of Corps Security and where they are in life.

SECOND CHANCE LOVE!!

I absolutely love JB Salsbury's Fighting Series and Harper Sloan's Corps Security Series and when Piper Raegan announced that she had written a book that would place her characters right in there I knew I NEEDED this book ASAP. The wait was painful but WOW! What a ride! I absolutely LOVED Gin & Juice. These two have quite a beautiful history. What starts off as best friends since highschool, quickly changes status and then it all comes crashing down. Misunderstandings. Hearts broken. Time lost. Fast forward 9 years and their worlds collide when both their careers bring them to the same place... Hopetown. Can they repair what was broken? Can they make up for lost time? All I can say is Piper can definately create a scene, be it steamy or hilarious banter between the boys... but one thing is for sure... I have fallen in love with another two well written characters. Keep writing Piper... you're a natural!!

Being gifted a copy of this book by the author was great for this Canadian girl.

Continuing to visit Hope Town is one of my favourites to read. The stories of Sway and the Corps Security men, along with JB Salsburys fighting series allows two of my favourites to be merged.

This is the first booked I've read by Piper and was not disappointed. Her detailed accounts of the story, the characters and their chemistry, and the way the words flow from the page make her one of my new one click authors.

An amazing read with chemistry and heat that should be read by all.

First off, congrats on your debut book! Piper Reagan if there was a 10 star review, I would give it to you. You have combined the story of Gineva and Jarrett with other members of Harper Sloan’s Hope Town, including my main Corps Security guy Maddox Locke, as well as Caleb and Honor from The Fighting Series from JB Salsbury. I devoured this book and didn’t want it to end. I loved these characters.
Gineva Derosa and Jarrett Dean were best friends in high school. What should have been the best night of her life, and their last night together, turned into the worst night. Now, years later, Gineva, or Gin as only Jarrett called her, is in Hope Town to help out everyone’s favorite salon owner, Sway, with getting his salon back on track. What she didn’t plan on was running into Jarrett, the one true love of her life, and answering the hard questions of what happened that fateful night. Both Gin and Jarrett owe it to each other to remember that night and then decide where to go from there. Getting through that conversation is tough and entertaining.
Everything about this book was enjoyable. The book had me laughing at the antics of the people of Hope Town. With the talent of these three authors, how could you not get lost in the stories? Thank you Piper Reagan for the chance to read your debut book. I can’t wait to see more from you!!

Nailed it!!

After reading corps security, and knowing some of the characters already, this book couldn’t have followed any better! The way Sways character had his sense of humor and analogies, had me laughing so hard! Between the romance, and the drama, this book is extremely well written and had me on the edge of my seat, not wanting to put it down!! Definitely one of my top favorites!!

Pretty good little novella set in hope town. Loved seeing Sway, Dani and the crew. And of course Honor and Caleb from JB Salsbury's Fighting/Corps security crossover. The relationship development in the 2nd chance was way too quick, but that's a novella for you, and at least there was a strong friendship in the past to make it more realistic. Overall, a fun read.

Great book and the first I have read from this author. We get a glimpse into all of the Corps Security hotties and a few of their offspring. Gin and Juice found their way back to each other after 9 years. They finally clear up some misunderstandings and get themselves a second chance. Although their reunion is not without some drama and a little intrigue. There are some LOL moments also and of course Sway sprinkles his glitter any chance he can.

Loved it. Corps Security series is one of my all time favorite series and any story that involves Hope Town and Corp Security is a good book to me. This was a great little story with a visit from a good portion of the Corp Security crew. Loved Juice and Gin and their story which I really adored. Love the second chance romances. Good novella!! I'm literally speechless right now, Piper included her characters Gin & Juice into a well known fictional world so flawlessly! She took the torch of what Harper Sloan & JB Salsbury created so effortlessly. I gotta say Fast Forward has me a bit intrigued. So glad I got my hands on it, I would have read it sooner but alas work commitments rared its ugly head **sigh**

I'm absolutely in love with Ginerva & Jarrett, they went on an adventure from strangers to best friends, to one time lovers to enemies and back to lovers forever this time ;) This just goes to show one's Pride, insecurities and lack of communication do not mix well!!!!!

Their chemistry was off the charts, and I'm glad they found their forever again together. The epilogue had me in stitches!!

What made this even more lovable was the return of our fav Hope Town characters. it was like Piper created them from the get-go, you would never know the difference!!

Piper has now become one of my future automatic One Click purchases ;)
