This was an okay read. The story is interesting, bloody, gore-y, and sexy. But it’s also a bit much.
Too much back and forth.
In my opinion when you do a semi-triangle, and you make one person more likable than the other, but the heroine likes the less likable hero better it’s irritating. I know that some people may like the heroines favored hero better, but I just didn’t really. At first possibly, but then the other hero... fuckkkkkk. He’s everything. I think introducing him did a disservice to the first hero and heroine and the love they supposedly feel for each other.
If the second hero doesn’t end up being her end game, then hopefully he gets a heroine as hot and sassy.
Not sure if I’ll read the next in Carmen’s story, since I mostly skimmed this one. We shall see.

First thing first thank you for the tears I have shed while reading this book.
After being through so much ( yet having that piece that truly defines her,) she does deserve the reprevrive of finding someone who loves her like she wanted all along. Even if she ends up finding that within herself that is there all along.
I think the reason why we are so obsessed with happily ever after has more to do with how our life itself ends with a tragedy so we divert our focus on all the little pieces yet never acknowledging the bigger picture
Carmen has a strong personality through and through and I admire the author for developing her character with such finesse that she didn't let her be without loosing who she really is.
You see Carmen is a fighter, a protector, a person who has so much to give and give that she does...she loves without bounds, fights for them at equal measure and expects everyone to be just like her and therein lies the problem ...
I don't know how I feel about Marcus or angel.. and that vinny slap at the end, sent me seeing stars. So many men to fill the spot but none better..
Having said that bring kody singer back. She deserves white picked fence and someone for god sake that fights for her.
I always believed books recreate life in best versions. The one where you don't fart or have acne problem, the mudanity of life or how it's just another heartbreak waiting to happen.
But not here, i couldn't predict precisely what to expect because this book has fillers, filled with mundane life.. and i have to agree to have a converstion without having the ML hear it is refreshing.
There were so many aspect i loved and so many choices I wished wasn't made, so many angst I could have lived without. But here i am falling in love all the same ...like this was how it was supposed to be from the very beginning and I just didn't know.

Holy guacamole.
I knew going in this was going to be a crazy read. Carmen has always been a larger than life character so it made sense her book would be the same.
Angel intrigued me in the previous book so I’m glad he was a major player here.
Marcus also had intrigue written all over him and I wanted his story.
For the most part I liked Carmen. Yes she’s a mess a swirling whirlwind of suffering and confusion. But it’s hard not to feel for her and despite her faults she has a huge heart and just wants to be loved.
Now I’m not a fan of love triangles at all. For me they rarely work and so I avoid them most of the time. Despite me not liking that aspect it worked better here than I expected.
This book is certainly not without its faults but it kept me reading. At times I just couldn’t put it down. Now I’m left desperately waiting for the next book which isn’t due until next year.

Awakened by Sin is book 4 in the Crime Lord Series and it's Carmen's story. If your familiar with this series you know that Carmen is Layla's cousin and the wife of Vinny who was killed after trying to take Gavin's place in the underworld. I have to be honest I was annoyed before starting this book because I hate love triangles, I avoid them at all cost. I read for enjoyment and I feel in a love triangle you have a 50/50 chance of being disappointed if the person your rooting for isn't chosen. So like I said I was annoyed, add in there wasn't a romance to be found anywhere and a woman still mourning the death of her husband and I was like WTH? Mia was it to early for Carmen to get her story because I feel like I'm going to get cheated. What I failed to see in the beginning was that this was Carmen's story not Carmen and Marcus or Carmen and Angel. It was her finding herself and who she is without Vinny. Carmen is loyal, loving, passionate, wild, impulsive and a tad crazy. Your either going to love her or hate her, personally I loved her. Although she makes decisions that will make you want to shake her and you may not always agree with her choices, that's who she is. Now for Marcus and Angel. I didn't go into this on any team. I liked them both and wanted to know more about them. I definitely chose a team early on because I felt that man brought out the best in Carmen.

I have to admit I have no idea where her story is going to go and knowing Carmen it's going to be a crazy ride. The story does end in a cliffhanger that I wanted to throw my Kindle against the wall. Holy shit this was good.... and right up my alley. Carmen was shameless, wicked, impulsive, and a total nutcase I absolutely loved her. I liked Marcus, maybe even liked him for Carmen, but if you give me the choice of a decent guy and a bad boy... 9 times out of 10 I'm gonna choose the bad boy. It's a weakness and I'm not proud of it. I wanted her to choose Angel and since it was pretty clear she wasn't going to, I wish that the author had let Angel find someone who loved him as her first choice instead of letting him get used and abused like this. I hope she would have the same reckless spirit as Carmen does tho bc I want to watch them go wild together. I just loved that he let her be her authentic self always, whether she be racing cars and shooting people or crying her heart out over another man. He just has her back no matter what and it's really sweet.
"I recognize another wild soul when I see one. I wouldn't try to tame you. I would unleash you, Carmen. It would be glorious."
Even though I clearly preferred Angel, Marcus surprised me over and over again by picking up the gauntlets that Carmen would throw down and in that regard, I was impressed. She could do a lot worse.
"Who's going to fuck you?" he demanded.
"Someone else if you don't hurry," she rasped.
This was def the best in the series so far and also Luci is amazing I need her to get her own book. I lowkey ship her w Lucifer, the yogi-dressing Ruler of Hell.... Jesus that sentence alone lmao wtf was this book and why was it so good😂

Yet another masterpiece penned by Mia Knight! ❤️
I have read the first three books in the series telling the story of Gavin and Lyla multiple times and I will never get tired of them. Although I loved the character of Carmen I met at that time and her personal story touched me deeply, I must say I was reluctant to read it because I knew it was not going to be an easy read. Oh wow, did author Mia Knight deliver! I do not want to give anything about the book away, so all I can say is how deeply touched I am by the characters and their journey. I felt like I’d been on an emotional rollercoaster by the end. Carmen’s pain was palpable and I found myself genuinely welling up at times as she struggled to keep a brave face. I loved this book and I was absolutely riveted, all the way through. Can’t wait to read book 5! I'm totally addicted to all the characters in this Series and I need more!

Mia knight has talent but her story lines sometimes leaves me cold. Carmen is a mess and not in a good way. I really like Marcus but the love triangle between angel and Marcus leaves me really cold. Carmen is too much. Too easy, to brash, just too much. I hate how she plays and gets turned on by angel but then feels like she loves Marcus. So she never follows through with actual sex but the intent is there. She kisses. Gets naked. Turned on. It’s depressing to read.

I think it’s important to mention it is imperative to read the prior three books in this series to fully comprehend the depth of Carmen’s dealings in the story.
Carmen is a whirlwind of emotion and it’s very apparent in this story. Kudos to Knight for capturing Carmen’s emotions perfectly. Carmen’s character depth and continuous growth is beautifully detailed in how she handles her nemesis, Gavin. Their family relationship is hilarious! We also see a bit more of Lyla and Nora, Blade, Marcus, Alice and Janet, Angel, and yes Lucifer. That pesky rascal can’t sit down and mind his business for five minutes!
It’s very hard to write this review without spoilers so I am aware my review is a bit vague. I wanna scream at the top of my lungs that __________________ is a __________ and should have a seat before _____________! But I can’t! HOWEVER, I can convey that this story has ALL the feels, ALL the drama, ALL the ingredients required to blast your blood pressure through the roof! You can’t drink wine while reading this story. Something stronger is required for sure!
Whatever you’ve heard about this story FORGET IT! I promise it’s not what you’ve heard or even think! Read it for yourself. Embrace the darkness. Once you’re done, come back and thank me! LOL!

Trying to keep it real here - I enjoyed this book a lot but didn't love it and I believe that's solely due to my expectation as a reader and not through any fault of the author's. I was expecting a story more similar to the first 3 Crime Lord books, with a clearly defined hero who's obsessed with the h. Instead, the story that was told was the story of a woman in pain and trying to deal with the loss of the love of her life. It was the story of a woman trying desperately to move on. It was well done and at times, gripping. I was just expecting more of a romance and this isn't a romance....yet. That isn't to say this isn't a good story. It is. I doubt anyone reading this will be bored, lol.
Ms. Knight's writing has vastly improved and I felt vested in her story. I love the characters and the Crime Lord world that she has created. I can't think of any triggers here except maybe that someone walked in on them having smex. The smex scenes were smokin' hot and happen early at the 7% mark. Fyi - This does end on a cliffy and not a hfn.
I do recommend this to everyone who loved the first 3 Crime Lord books. Just know that it's different, which isn't a bad thing.

Witty, Smart, Confident, Loyal, Passionate, Loving
The confidence Carmen had throughout the book was great - she knew she was hot shit and she owned it. Mia Knight did it again by writing a strong heroine.
I was absolutely blindsided by her character - there is so much more to her than I originally thought based on her character in Gavin and Lyla's story. I was expecting an airhead to be honest, but wow am I ever glad to be wrong. Carmen's story is so much more than "a love triangle" - so for anyone who has that idea in their head - just shake it out. This isn't a cliche story of a woman who can't decide between two men, they fight over her and blah blah blah. Absolutely not. This story is about the developmental growth of a character and trying to find herself after devastating loss after loss. The girl you are introduced to in the first chapter grows so much by the last sentence of this book.
I really enjoyed reading and trying to understand Carmen. She was drowning in grief in the beginning and pretty lost. She was so busy trying to help and be there for everyone else that she doesn't take the time in the years since Vinny's death to deal with her own emotions.
I went into this book as Switzerland - I knew that either Angel or Marcus could be the hero and I really didn't favour one guy over the other. Both Angel and Marcus complimented her in one way or the other. I will be honest and say that pretty early in the book I jumped on #TeamAngel side - I just love him.
The "better" man for her though - it was super hard to guess which man she would choose and Mia Knight did a fantastic job of keeping you guessing and jumping back and forth cheering from one man to the other.
One man needed to be asked to give her what she needs, and the other knows by just looking at her. One man was safe, and the other man was reckless. One man replaced her husband in the corporate world, and the other man replaced him in the Underworld.
Who will she choose?

Those two were on Fire.
Carmen describes him as an attractive man with the "Hot All-America" thing going on. When he was introduced in the previous books he was a mystery to me for why Gavin trusted him. I always got the vibe he had some dark secrets to make him the man he is today. He strives for success and is always reaching for more while climbing the corporate ladder. He is Vinny's replacement as the COO of Pyre Casinos and god-father to Gavin and Lyla's daughter Nora.
Angel Roman. AKA Crime Lord
Honest, Funny, Lethal, Loyal, Alluring
Like OMG, I love him. SWOON!! Angel may have replaced Gavin as my book boyfriend. Oops. Angel just sucks you in and he doesn't even have to try. HIS.SEXY.MOUTH. I spent most of his scenes fanning myself because of all of his dirty talk. He could talk the panties off of a nun. I love Angels brutal honesty when he gives it to Carmen straight. He doesn't treat her with kid gloves and tells her how it is - even when she doesn't want to hear it.
His sister Luci has me soooo curious about her (please tell me she will have a book!) and the friendship blossoming between her and Carmen is awesome - Their phone conversations had me howling with laughter. "Sisters from other misters."- Luci to Carmen
I cannot wait for more books from Mia Knight - I've been obsessed with this series since the moment I started reading Crime Lord Captive. I didn't think I would love Carmen's story as much as Lyla and Gavin and yet again I am glad to be wrong.

Apart from old friends that were flings, two men catch her attention. Marcus, the man who replaced Gavin as his club manager, and Angel who is the new mob boss. She has mad chemistry with one, while the other heals her scarred soul. Whom will she choose? And when the time times, who will help her ultimately move on?
This had a lot of back and forth between all the characters. The sex scenes were hot, there was good amount of angst and trauma, and the ending was a cliffhanger. I felt for Carmen, she deserves the world.

Intensely emotional and completely captivating, Awakened by Sin by Mia Knight was a fantastic story that pulled me in and wouldn't let go. A woman drowning in her personal pain finds herself torn between two men in the fourth installment of the Crime Lord series. Knight completely blew me away with both the writing and the direction she took Carmen's story.
I am generally not a fan of love triangles, but I do enjoy the angst that goes along with them. In this case, I could see the appeal of both men, each of whom brought something different to Carmen’s life. Two very different, enigmatic, formidable men who had their sights set on her. What was unique about this story was that Carmen's emotional turmoil was the focal point more so than the two men who were vying for her attention. I love how the author did such a great job making the reader feel what Carmen was going through. Knight really captured the emotional elements and brought them to the forefront of the storyline. Anyone who has read the previous books could see how in love she and her husband were. Her pain was so intense, and it drove most of her action throughout the story.
This story was well-paced and kept my attention the whole way through. There was action, suspense, and intrigue. There were revelations that came to light that completely caught me off guard, and there wasn't a single I moment when I was bored while reading. Carmen's journey was a tumultuous and difficult one, and Knight really mastered creating a sense of unpredictability within the story. The angst was on point, the intimate scenes were scorching hot, and the ending was one that set the stage for what is sure to be an amazing conclusion. Mia Knight is a seriously talented author and I look forward to reading the rest of Carmen's story.
I am generally not a fan of love triangles, but I do enjoy the angst that goes along with them. In this case, I could see the appeal of both men, each of whom brought something different to Carmen’s life. Two very different, enigmatic, formidable men who had their sights set on her. What was unique about this story was that Carmen's emotional turmoil was the focal point more so than the two men who were vying for her attention. I love how the author did such a great job making the reader feel what Carmen was going through. Knight really captured the emotional elements and brought them to the forefront of the storyline. Anyone who has read the previous books could see how in love she and her husband were. Her pain was so intense, and it drove most of her action throughout the story.
This story was well-paced and kept my attention the whole way through. There was action, suspense, and intrigue. There were revelations that came to light that completely caught me off guard, and there wasn't a single I moment when I was bored while reading. Carmen's journey was a tumultuous and difficult one, and Knight really mastered creating a sense of unpredictability within the story. The angst was on point, the intimate scenes were scorching hot, and the ending was one that set the stage for what is sure to be an amazing conclusion. Mia Knight is a seriously talented author and I look forward to reading the rest of Carmen's story.

When I finished Gavin and Lyla’s story, I told myself I gotta read Carmen’s no matter what. And now, I can honestly say that I enjoyed Carmen’s story better than Lyla’s. I’m still reeling with so many emotions right now. Because firstly, I am not fond of love triangles, my heart can’t process too many back and forths at the same time, I am a single-minded person and I hate choosing one character then be shredded to pieces at the end when the story spins the other way. Secondly, the feeling of loss and death of a loved one in this book is so vividly described and painted, I can feel Carmen’s pain and sorrow. I am here writing still feeling a little down. It’s just my luck that this end up in a cliffy (eyerolls) which is another first for me because I never read series not unless I have them all and can read it one sitting. Patience has never been my friend. What bothers me most is that when I searched for Book 2, I came up blank. Why oh why? No blurb, not even a cover real, nothing! How cruel. I guess I just have to stalk Mia Knight and email her. I really really hope Carmen will end up with Marcus. I don’t feel any chemistry between Angel and Carmen IMHO. Waiting and waiting for the next book will be an agony.. le sigh!

So just because I absolutely love the Crime Lord series and just because Gavin is my book husband didn't mean I was automatically going to rate this book 5 stars. To be honest, I was sceptical because my expectations were set so high...would I love it as much as the first books?
The answer is yes, I loved ABS! Even though the story is entirely different from Lyla's story, being back in the Crime Lord world, in the empire of the Pyres, felt like coming home again. To read about all my favorite characters again...it felt magical. Mia was able to suck me right back in!
Ms Knight is a phenomenal storyteller and she has the ability to tell a story as if you are watching a movie. She has created this OTT fabulous intriguing world of money, glitter, sex, power and drama where only the strong survive.
This is Carmen's story and Carmen, although far less relatable than Lyla, is a force to be reckoned with: intelligent, strong, brazen, wild and beautiful. In the first part of the story it's mostly Carmen dealing with her grief of losing not only her husband but also her father. The two anchors of her world. The author has captured this beautifully where it shows not only the pain and emptiness but also the raw despair Carmen is going through. From the flashbacks to her talking to Vinnie's ashes and missing his warmth...to the things she is doing to force herself to push through her pain.
The second part of the book is when she decides to take matters in her own hand again and move forward. Even though there are two love interests, they both play a different part in her journey, appealing to different sides of her personality.
Beware, this is not a romance. Although there are plenty of suitors, this is solely Carmen's story and the men are simply there to move the story forward. It was great to see more of some of the secondary characters from the first books. We get more of an insight into their personalities and histories turning them from one dimensional characters into supporting characters that can hold their own.

The story arc that began with Lyla and Gavin continues on with Carmen, the cousin who provided support, entertainment, a shoulder, an ear, and a safety net. What we know of her story is both beautiful and tragic. According to the author this book will include flashbacks - so we know the backstory - and current development - so we will learn where she is going.

Grossed out by this h. She is talking down to another woman for not dressing sexy and sleeping around. Why does a woman who doesn't want to do those things thought of as a loser or as if something is wrong with her? Everyone should live their own truth! Then the h forces the woman to dance with her and kisses her. The woman doesn't like it and the h shows no remorse. Despite my love for books 1-3, I'm out!!

I really wish Carmen will end up with Angel. Cant wait for book 2! Their chemistry is just so freaking hot. But gahh! Marcus is also hot and sweet, and possessive urghh!

This is my favorite book in this series yet!!!
That has 100% to do with Carmen and her development through this story. I absolutely loved her, and how relatable she was. She was such a different character than I expected, in the best way possible. This was a story about grief and heartbreak that is relatable to anyone who has experienced loss. Her emotions through the story and the back and forth were so true and understandable. I love the world this series has created and loved seeing it from a different perspective than lyla. I enjoyed the pervious installments of this series, but more as an entertaining and interesting read - where this one felt like something more with a a main character that was just awesome. I cannot wait for the next book in this series and the following stories that will better explain the awesome characters we get introduced to more and more as the books go on!!

I feel absolutely shell shocked and an emotional wreck. I cannot begin to describe the roller coaster than this book has been. I have wanted to cry, throw things at Carmen and give her a massive hug. She had so many lows and she fought so hard to pick herself up again. She is so strong for everyone else. She is stuck between Angel and Marcus. One doesn't seem to be able to give her what she wants and the other can lead her too far into the dark. She has so much guilt which is not all justified. She is so strong she has literally survived when many wouldn't. I really hope that she gets some lasting happiness. I liked Carmen from the previous books and I love her now. There is so much more to her than you initially realise.

Hmmmmm. Going back and fourth over the loss of Vinny who we don’t know much about to begin with, well enough to empathise with Carmen, bored me. I also really liked Marcus in Gavin and Layla’s story but in this I didn’t. There just wasn’t enough focus on him for me to develop any thoughts about him.. other than a strong dislike for him. Thought the whole book was long winded, drawn out and tedious only to find there is another book and there isn’t even a release date for it. Spin offs should be one book not another series.
I loved Carmen and her kick ass side but felt the author handled the love triangle in a poor way. Didn’t know which one of them actually liked her, until I read a bit of Angels POV. Will I have forgotten about this series by the time the next book is out? Probably.

An emotional, thrilling journey
There is not much I can say right now, except bravo Mia! This book just brought out so many emotions and there were so many moments where I just wanted to put the book aside and sob as I felt Carmen’s pain in her grieving. And that ending!! It’s going to take me a while to process this book and my feelings, which you know means this book was amazing. I’ll be back with a real review later.

Best book in the series yet.
Best book in the series yet, that being said I am incredibly frustrated!!! Ahhh.. I NEED Carmen! Hopefully there's enough of her in the 4.5 to help me cope with this monumentale cliffhanger. Can’t wait for 5 to come out. Like seriously, I couldn’t even find a date on when that might happen. Now about this book. Carmens a badass with a big heart trying to find her footing again after the love of her life was murdered. She rages, parties, purges and kicks ass all through the chapters while still being her loyal and lovable self. And let’s not forget about the oh so sexy scenes with Marcus the new COO for Pyre casinos. He might just have what it takes to control her urges from spiraling out of control.... or maybe she will be the undoing to his tightly controlled life. Welp, I know I didn’t do the book justice with my review, but thats all I can muster for a review right now. It’s past 3am. LOL Goodnight!

5 "it's 7AM Sin—go to sleep" stars
Sin dragging my ass out of bed to read this book like...
Reading Awakened by Sin—as well as Bitter Heat—always makes me emotional.
Some of you just looked at your screen with bare-ass skepticism (I know that cover promises very different things), but give Knight the time of day and you'll see what I mean.
I judged Carmen WAY prematurely in Lyla & Gavin's books. She wears her glamour and affability so seamlessly, I completely underestimated her....and damn if I don't love being wrong.
Carmen is probably one of the most complex female characters I've ever read, period. She was the textbook definition of an "extra" in the initial books, so reading her perspective felt like breaking the 4th wall—like something we shouldn't have been privy to.
Her husband murdered. Father dead....
Reading this, I felt like I suffered those losses with her. I mean, Idk that our coping mechanisms are particularly compatible...I don't have the bank, nor core strength, to go on the benders she did...but the pain and urgency she felt was seriously intoxicating. And weird choice of words, maybe, but that's how wrecked her highs and lows had me.
I feel like I'm doing a shit job of selling this book making it sound about as entertaining as an obituary read, but I promise where there is ruin there is reward.
And oh, what a reward we got.

I have never been so royally aroused, mind, body, and soul, as I was reading Marcus play this whole romantic waiting game like some sexy-ass chess. I won't overly romanticize him—boy did have his own well camouflaged baggage—but his patience, his tenacity, his ambiguity and utter sex appeal, I don't think should be overlooked.
I saw quite a few reviews conveying their frustration at Mia making a "bland" character like Marcus go up against Angel for Carmen's attention, and I can't help but urge people to take a 2nd look. I'm not saying Angel isn't HAWT as all hell in his own right, and I will be very stoked to read his book in future...but Marcus understood Carmen in a way that she neglected to herself.
And for anyone hesitant about that love triangle...😂 Idk how to assure you beyond emphasizing how much of a bad. bitch. Carmen is. Is it even a love triangle when she holds all the damn cards?
I hope I've peeked your curiosity successfully, and that you won't hate me too much for convincing you to read this when the sequel is still being written...but I'm a lonely, and shameless fan.

O-M-G, O-M-G, O-M-G! We got to Carmen in the first three books of the Crime Lord series featuring her cousin Lyla and Gavin, the Vegas Crime Lord. Carmen is unflinchingly loyal and believes in tipping the scales of the world in favor of good. Unfortunately, her husband was murdered in the first book when he tried to take over the underworld from Gavin, his cousin. With the murderer still out there plotting, Carmen is not given the time to properly grieve. She meets two men who both want to help her move on, Marcus - the new COO of Pyre Casinos (the position previously held by Carmen's husband), and Angel - the new Crime Lord. Both men would be a good catch but only one can be for Carmen. Marcus is clean cut, successful, caring, compassionate, handsome... the guy that most women would swoon for. Angel is hot too and there is no doubt in my mind that he can also be caring and compassionate... to his partner. The ultimate bad boy who probably makes panties melt in his wake.
My reactions to this book started with:
1. Oh hot damn Carmen. You go girl!
2. Freakin' finally! Yummy! Let me live vicariously through you.
3. Angel is a flirt. I don't need blush today.
4. Oh my God Carmen!!! Control woman, control!

5 Stars for Awakened by Sin! A must read for Crime Lord fans as well as Mafia romance readers. This book is a spinoff from the Crime Lords Series where we are introduced to Carmen Prye. She is the cousin of Lyla Prye who is married to Gavin Prye who gave up his position as the Mafia King to the Underground World. Gavin will always be my Mafia King, just had to plug that in there lol. Carmen is also a badass mob wife who's married to Gavin's cousin Vincent Prye (Vinny) who is Gavin's right hand man. Unfortunately he's killed by a enemy of the Pyre's which leaves Carmen devastated and spiraling out of control. The story focus on Carmen coping with life after Vinny, and how she'll ever be able to piece back the pieces of her shattered life. Not to mention that she's also dealing with another family crisis. Lyla has been kidnapped, and Gavin making her promise to take care of Nora, Lyla and Gavin's daughter, while Gavin goes off to rescue his wife from hell. Even though Carmen feels like falling apart she's cut from a tough cloth which keeps her from falling. Also two drop dead gorgeous Alphas enters her life to give it new meaning. This book is filled with passion and mafia drama, it will make you cry, laugh and turn back on you A/C because your temper will be rising from the sex scenes lol. Mia Knight is a true Mafia Queen of Romance

Carmen is the most Badass heroine I've read!
Mia Knight has done it again. I didn't know what to expect when I first started ABS, all I knew was that Carmen is Lyla's cousin from the previous trilogy and that there are 2 super hot guys in this box. What I did expect was to be torn between both the men, which I was, but what I didn't expect was Carmen's grief over losing her husband a couple of years ago. Her pain was so palpable and it left me so emotional that I had to put the book down at times. I'm not a crier and Carmen's pain brought tears to my eyes. She is so strong as well as funny and smart and so giving, I just loved her. She had so much of character growth throughout the series, and the author has done a great job in bringing her to life.
I loved both the men in this book. They are strong, hot and will have to panting with all that pent up s**ual tension. I can't wait to read the next book in this series and the best part is that you will get to see all your favorite characters from the previous trilogy. ABS is Carmen's story and will make you want to throw your kindle across the room! The tension was off the charts and leaves you panting for more once you turn the last page!
