Fandom: Harry Potter Relationships: Draco Malfoy/Harry Potter, past Harry Potter/Ginny Weasley -------------------------------------------------- After the Battle, Harry thinks he's left Hogwarts for good, but Minerva insists that all students return for an Eighth Year if they wish to sit for NEWTs in the spring, and Harry needs those NEWTs to go into the Aurors. Draco's just grateful not to be in Azkaban. Or the Manor. He's hoping he can steer clear of Potter this year and grapple with his own problems. Unfortunately for him, Potter appears to be one of those problems. And that's not even addressing the fact that Potter's got serious issues of his own, which Draco realises as he's forced to share an Eighth Year dormitory room and several classes with the Gryffindor Git. If only they can make it through the year without killing each other, it should be all right, shouldn't it?
Well done. Especially because it takes seriously the facts that a) Harry and Draco GENUINELY hated each other, and b) Draco bore a non-trivial share of responsibility for the losses that people sustained in the war. Both his redemption and their relationship were (mostly) realistic and well-earned. Great job writing this.
I will note a little repetitiveness in key respects as a weakness, but on the whole, especially given that the author isn’t getting paid for this, nice job.
*giggling and kicking my feet like a schoolgirl with a stupid crush* so cute and wholesome. great background characters too. loved Blaise, Pansy, and Millie in this too
Great writing and 8th year setting. Liked that there were still a lot of problems that needed worked out post-battle in between houses--was not instantaneous. Fantastic new teachers! Well developed characters as well. A lot of lemons used in the cooking of this story as well.
Good !swot x !jock trail. Chapter 4 was soo hot. There was some redundancy that I did not get and every time was like a first time - kind like it was a lot of short fics put together into this one. But nonetheless it was fun ride.
A very nice read, and classic 8th year fic.I like that Harry wasn’t written as a “can do no wrong” type of character and he had flaws like everyone else.
