His Scandalous Love is the first book in Anya Summers's new Cuffs and Spurs series, which is a spin-off of her Pleasure Island series (which, itself is a spin-off from her Dungeon Fantasy Club series). MC's Carter and Jenna, who were briefly seen in a Pleasure Island book take center stage here, as over-stressed Jenna and bossy Carter rekindle the relationship they started in the island while also introducing Carter to his previously unknown son, adorable baby Liam.
There's a bit of deus ex machina in their re-meeting (which we discover later, is at least partially arranged by her sister), but the two characters have a lot of chemistry, and their interactions feel real. I'm not sure about the title, though. In our modern age, is having a baby out of wedlock that scandalous? This book is a good start to a new series.

The story picks up from the prequel, His Unexpected Love, where Carter Jones and Jenna Mallory had met at Pleasure Island. They spent a week together but parted ways when the island was evacuated due to a hurricane. Carter will ask her to go with him, and she will turn him down. Carter returns to Wyoming and pours himself into his ranch, but he can’t forget Jenna, but when he contacts Jared, he will learn she has left her employment on the island, and even a phone number is a dead end.
As one of the owners of Cuffs and Spurs, his friends are worried about him and try and intervention, insisting he come to the club, which he agrees. What he never expected to see was Jenna in Jackson Hole and following her will discover more secrets.
“Jenna’s return into his life was just as cataclysmic as her first entry.”
Carter and Jenna must come to terms with their past, their relationship, and a secret that will forever bind them together. But will that be enough for them to move forward? Jenna has trust issues and holds herself back, and Carter wants her total trust and submission.

Just a couple little spoilers
What a wonderful start to a New Series, and i just loved it. I really love Carters Character, he really was a very hard working man, and he got the name Sasquatch from Jenna, even though he was a dom, he was just a plain ole softly at heart especially when it came do Jenna and his son. I loved all the characters really, i even loved Herb and Dottie, they were like a mother and father to him.
Carter has gone into town, he has been persuaded to go to his Club * Cuffs and Spurs* for a few hours. Wanting some Dinner first he goes into to get a feed, while he is eating, he sees a women go past, and that women looks very much like Jenna. The women he tried so hard to find, after his time on Pleasure Island.
Following her back to her apartment he knocks on the door and comes face to face with Jenna. Jenna is shocked to see Carter standing there outside her door, she invites him in, but not before collecting her son. Carter takes one look at the boy and knows its his, he looks very much like him when he was a baby.
Carter soon persuades Jenna and baby to come back to the Ranch, now hes got her there, all he has to do is persuade her to stay.

This book had all the emotions, sexiness, and cowboy hot dom you could wish for. The characters were solid, and you feel as though you really know them. The story keeps you engaged, with enough action and banter to keep you coming back for more. I want to keep going back to find out more about what happens to Carter and Jenna, as well as all the other members of the club you get introduced to. This book leaves you with a very satisfying ending, but opens the world for more books about the supporting characters. If you like your cowboy hot and caring with a dominant streak a mile wide and his lady to be spunky and stubborn enough to keep him on his toes, this is a book you need to read!

I loved the start to this new series! The storyline is real and true to life in many ways. The characters are developed and complex. Carter and Jenna share a deep connection and the chemistry is off the charts and show in the many explicit sex scenes, spankings, and loving family times throughout the book but it is not without it's conflicts as well. These characters must learn to trust in love and build their life together. Jenna has to deal with many inward conflicts but Carter is more than willing to help her learn and grow. However, every man has his limits, Jenna has to be willing to submit to him and trust him to guide them in this new adventure together. I do wish that I had read the prequel first to see how this wonderful couple started; however, this book can be read as a standalone as well. I look forward to seeing where they go as they move forward as well as seeing who's story we will get to read next. I could not put this book down and was completely drawn into this story, therefore, I highly recommend reading this great new series from such a talented author! I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book.

Nice Easy Read
This is book 1 of the Cuffs and Spurs series but to enjoy Carter and Jenna’s story please read book 2 first. Book 2 tells us how Carter and Jenner meet and this book, His Scandalous Love picks up about one year after they first meet. Life has changed for Jenna in a dramatic way while Carter has pined for Jenna and spent most of the year searching for her. He drives into town to meet his friends who have talked him into coming out after he’s lived like a recluse for a year. Carter is eating dinner before he meets his friends and while in the restaurant he looks out of the window and sees Jenna and he follows her home. Suddenly both their lives are turned upside down. This was a quick and easy read with a happily ever after.

Mediocre at best. Carter travels to a private island bdsm club and falls for Jenna - a sub. When they are evacuated from the island because of a hurricane she refuses to go with him and for 11 months he searches for her. He can't seem to move on with anyone else. Then she turns up in his town with his son. Nothing surprising here. He's got money, looks, a huge home and ranch and a housekeeper. I would want him for the housekeeper alone. But she's not satisfied. She's afraid... yada yada yada. Typical conlusion. This is the first in the series. It will have to improve from here.

A piece of advice if I may. Stay clear. Writing is something different than this clunky, unreadable "book".
It lacks everything: plot, characters, romance, but above all talent. Reading shouldn't be a difficult, painful experience.
It's a 0.99c book. You can make your own mind easily and without spending much money. Time on the other hand... :)

I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through Booksprouts arc.
It had been somewhat of a bad year for Carter and if the heat didn't let up
It could get worse for business but then there was Janna. He has not seen Jenna in a year and though he wanted her he never did much about it. His partner at the club asked him why he hadn't come to the club in almost a year.
He missed Jenna so much he wasn't one to look at any sub. Carter is sitting eating when he spots a ghost it was Jenna he paid his bill and went after her.
Carter goes to her apartment and hears a baby when she opened the door. When Carter sees the baby he knew it was his son immediately and asked Jenna why she didn't tell him. Carter was having Liam and Jenna stay with him ranch so they could have them with him. He still loved Jenna and would show her how much plus he fell in love instantly with his son. Jenna is glad to have a little respite from taking care of Liam by his father. Carter wanted his little family together forever. Jenna,Liam and Carter go out to the barn and surrounding area. Under a big tree while Liam sleep they kissed each other to acknowledge the electricity between them. Carter friends came over for their poker game and then and there they meet Jenna, Meghan and little Liam. Carter was trying to prove his love for Jenna even though he hadn't told her yet. Carter takes Jenna and Liam to the club for the baby shower. Spencer was throwing throwing this shower for her and Carter will the subs from the club. Things have been falling into place but Jenna is still a little apprehensive. Carter and Jenna had a little falling out and now she was sure she messed up. So she decides she will seduce him to show him how wrong she had been. Carter was beside himself as she totally submitted to him. Carter took Jenna and told her this is where she belongs. Carter went to pick Liam up and put him in the bassinet in their room. Jenna knew she was right were she should be but, will they have an HEA?

There’s a lot to like in Summers’ His Scandalous Love. This is a second chance at love story, where Carter and Jenna once connected at a BDSM resort, then lost contact after an emergency evacuation unexpectedly separated them. Meeting up again, they have to deal with the changes in their lives and whether they want to be together.
I did wonder why Carter couldn’t get contact information from the club or at least a message relayed to Jenna through the club when he wanted to find her again, but I was willing to work with the confidentiality aspects here as well as what happened to Jenna after leaving the club to believe in the story. Things are a bit perfect with Carter—he has the perfect housekeeper, the perfect ranch hands, the perfect friends, etc. But Carter’s utter dedication to Jenna is one of the most enjoyable aspects of His Scandalous Love, and that offset the perfection around him.
Carter wants to give Jenna everything, and despite having things collapse around her in her life up to that point, Carter’s unwavering support goes a long way towards addressing the many issues Jenna has.
But that also made Jenna’s reactions a bit harder to understand. Because Carter is close to perfect as a romance hero, seeing Jenna resist him for as long as she does becomes harder to accept the longer it drags on. I also found it difficult to reconcile Jenna’s utter looseness and wildness in her BDSM lifestyle with her conservatism and lack of risk-taking in the rest of her life. Seeing her behave so insecurely in her public life and then suddenly become so secure in the bedroom was challenging.
But Summers builds a romance intensely focused on its lead characters that also introduces the new Cuffs & Spurs series, setting up future romances and building up the secondary characters from the club. It’s a good start to a series that builds on previous work from Summers, and it will be interesting to see where it goes.

Carter wants to give Jenna everything, and despite having things collapse around her in her life up to that point, Carter’s unwavering support goes a long way towards addressing the many issues Jenna has.
But that also made Jenna’s reactions a bit harder to understand. Because Carter is close to perfect as a romance hero, seeing Jenna resist him for as long as she does becomes harder to accept the longer it drags on. I also found it difficult to reconcile Jenna’s utter looseness and wildness in her BDSM lifestyle with her conservatism and lack of risk-taking in the rest of her life. Seeing her behave so insecurely in her public life and then suddenly become so secure in the bedroom was challenging.
But Summers builds a romance intensely focused on its lead characters that also introduces the new Cuffs & Spurs series, setting up future romances and building up the secondary characters from the club. It’s a good start to a series that builds on previous work from Summers, and it will be interesting to see where it goes.

In His Scadalous Love (Cuffs and Spurs Book1) Anya weaves a tale of love, lust and commitment on a soul level. You never know from one page to the next just where the story will go, you know where it could go, where it should go, God it seems so right and easy, the resolution, but so many doubts could bring it all to an abrupt close. It puts one in mind of the old Biblical proverb, "It's the little foxes that ruin our vineyard." So many bouts of second guessing, when everything is there for the taking. Carter has his work cut out for him, running his ranch the Double J, pining for his sweet Sub, Jenna. They only had one week together before they were parted unexpectedly and he would have searched forever to find her. Is one week enough to sear your true mate upon your soul and psyche? If it's the right one, the answer is yes! I highly recommend this read, it will blow your mind! There is plenty of heat, but also sweet, true love. It has a BDSM theme no cheating and an HEA! I can't wait to read the next one in the series, "His Wicked Love (Cuffs and Spurs Book 2)

Carter and Jenna shared a week in a BDSM resort, but while both craved more, real life called. Carter pined after Jenna, while Jenna’s life imploded, but a year later, they find their paths cross again. How will Carter respond when he learns about her secret? Will Jenna learn to submit fully to Carter, showing weakness and asking for help?
I really enjoyed reading this book! Carter and Jenna had a sweet romance, full with some kinkier aspects, with a hesitant but pure love. Carter was amazing - I wish he was my boyfriend. He was patient, loving, caring, observant, but also knew his own limits and his own desires for wanting more. Jenna had a few hang-ups that she needed to let go, and this romance is how she deals with that. I loved some of the side characters and look forward to reading their stories, too! I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t more club elements, or even flashbacks to their time together at the resort, but I also felt like there were times that pieces of their story was missing. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more from Ms. Summers.

I absolutely loved this heartfelt romance. Carter and Jenna went their separate ways after a steamy week together at Pleasure Island, but Carter just can't move on from his memories of her. Nearly a year later, she shows up in his hometown, not quite sure she's ready to see him again, but not willing to hide her secret any longer.
Jenna's character was very well done; as the oldest child she's always had the weight of the world on her shoulders so she's not going to just sit back and let Carter solve all her problems, no matter how much he wants to. Carter is the epitome of a dominant cowboy; a gentleman of honor in public, a dirty-talking alpha in private. Jenna has no trouble trusting one, but no experience at all with the other.
This is a beautiful love story where two fiercely independent people learn to meld their lives into one cohesive unit, finding that they each are stronger when they lean on each other. It's got some BDSM elements, but only as accessories in their private love scenes; there are no club or public scenes in this book. I fell in love with Cater and Jenna in His Unexpected Love and the continuation of their story in His Scandalous Love was just perfect. Carter’s love for Jenna never wavered, he was all in from the dunking in the sea. It was nice to read about a character that while unsure what he was feeling, did not shy from it, stayed true to his feelings throughout their journey and kept following the wishes and signals that Jenna was giving him. Jenna on the other hand was so lost in her own fear and self loathing that she could not see Carter love for her until it was almost to late. She just couldn’t believe that someone would really love her and want her forever. Her mother hadn’t and her father had not shown her love, so she must not be worthy is what she kept telling herself.
Jenna finally accepting that she was worthy of someone’s love and that she needed to enjoy the here and now instead of living in a future that had not yet been written was a wonderful moment in the story. Carter’s open willingness to accept Jenna as she is, flaws and all was a beautiful statement of love.
I highly recommend that you read His Unexpected Love and His Scadalous Love and wrap yourself up in this highly satisfying love story. One-Click it!

His scandalous Love is the first book in the Cuffs and Spurs series. I’ve read several of Ms. Summer’s books, but this is the first time I’ve left a review. I can say that her grasp of the BDSM lifestyle and its dominate heroes and passionate heroines are intriguing, sexy, heartfelt on all points.
Jenna, smart, sexy, feisty submissive. A Heart of gold, but emotional baggage of trusts issues. A powerful heroine that maybe a submissive, but you can’t walk all over her.
Carter, sexy, powerful gentlemen, cowboy. It was easy to fall in love with Carter. Dominate to the core and he owns it well.
The scenes are fast so buckle up. These two are drawn together with a powerful chemistry. It’s an age of story, but it always works. Dom and Sub meet. There’s a separation and Sub seemingly disappears and Dom looks, and looks for the Sub. After some time Dom finds Sub and some. Dom wants Sub, Sub wants Dom, but there is a fight of sexual minds.
I read book one, and then book two came out, but it was really a prequel to book one. Book two gives you a lot more history of Carter and Jenna. For me, I have to read each book in this series and not as a standalone. Either way I love this power couple.

Talk about two people crossing in the night trying to find their way back to the original path. Carter had gone to the exclusive Paradise Island BDSM Club where he met Jenna, who was working there. She had been his sub for the entire week, but when they needed to evacuate because of a hurricane, Jenna wouldn't leave with him. He tried for almost a year to find her. Even being part owner of the Cuffs and Spurs BDSM club at home didn't help since Carter had become celibate. Seems she was the one and he just couldn't "play" with anyone else. When it had been almost a full year with no luck of finding her again, his friends and other Doms have pulled an intervention and demand he put the woman behind him and come to the club. What Anya Summers has created with this storyline and characters will not only keep you enthralled to see where she takes them, but also keep the panty melting tension burning. I’m curious just how much different my reaction to this story would be if I’d read it first, in publishing order, rather than reading the prologue before it. Having read the “second” book first, I got hung up on a couple of continuity errors that left me grinding my teeth in frustration for the first half of the book. Carter still has several alpha-hole tendencies, but he’s almost too perfect to be believed. Jenna broke my heart and drove me mental in almost equal measures. Her past has left her with some serious trust issues that make navigating a relationship with Carter exceptionally difficult. My personal feeling is that the problem dragged on for far too much of this book’s length. There are beautiful sweet moments between the pair, and some ultra-spicy ones too, but I felt the plot got a little bogged down with the minutia of their everyday lives. I could have happily done with a lot fewer descriptions of baby care. I really enjoyed meeting the men I presume will be the heroes in future books of the series and I look forward to reading more about them.

His Unexpected Love is the prequel to the following book. I read these two books in the wrong order and was wandering where the story of how Jenna and Carter met was since I rarely ever miss an Anya Summers book. This a quick little novella that sets the story up for His Scandalous Love. It is short and sweet and very sexy as Carter and Jenna’s relationship has a bumpy start but then takes off. Don’t misss the prequel, as it is well worth the read first.

Baby Liam is so sweet and Carter can’t wait to be his father and make up for lost time. Poor Jenna just needs to let go of her past and let Carter take care of her. I just want to shake some sense into her half the time and wrap her in a hug the rest. Carter definitely seems to have an infinite amount of patience for her. I loved this story. This is a wonderful, sexy, heat-filled, emotional second chance romance. It is also the first in what I think is going to be a fantastic new series. If you have had the pleasure of reading the prequel, His Unexpected Love, then you will be very pleased since this one picks up right where that one ended. However, don't worry if you didn't read the prequel, the story is unfolded for you, and you won't be missing anything other than another amazing story by Anya Summers.
If you are like me and want well developed characters, then you will love this one. Jenna and Carter met, had a fling, and produced a child. Without giving away more of the plot, I will say that when she decides to let Carter know things aren't as easy, or as simple, as she though they would be. There is drama, emotional ups and downs, past insecurities, passion, misunderstanding, and love. The story is beautiful and filled with some amazing steamy scenes. It is everything you could want in a romance, and I suggest you read it and join them on their way to their HEA.

However, I absolutely did NOT miss it, because I was so enthralled with this sweet love story. This is a book that I will read again and again!

Carter and Jenna meet at a vacation resort for those in the bdsm lifestyle. He's a client and she is an employee. Carter hopes to continue the relationship, but when he needs to leave the resort suddenly, Jenna declines going with him. Carter searches for her with no luck and tries to move on with his life. When the couple meet again there are sparks, hurt feelings and a big surprise. Jenna carries a lot of baggage from her life and finds it difficult to pick up where they left off as Carter desires. Carter tries to understand and ease her into the life he wants. This is a sexy relationship with deep feelings beneath. There are lots of interesting characters from Jenna's sister to the co-owners of Carter's own bdsm club and I suspect this will become a series. The ranch setting and surrounding areas sound beautiful and I look forward to future books in the series.
