Jaxx thought the Kelhoon were bad enough - a race of aliens enslaving humans, Atlanteans, and other ET's, and shipping them off to their factory farms on Callisto, Jupiter's second largest moon. But when Jaxx lands back on Callisto to free those bound in chains, he encounters something far worse.

The Agadon has followed him there. A psychotic sentient race of artificial intelligent Beings hellbent on wiping out all life in the Sol system - human, Atlantean and Kelhoon alike.

Now Jaxx must persuade rebel Kelhoon to join him in a battle against an intractable enemy.

With only one chance to succeed, Jaxx might just save everyone, or he might fail and die. When the Atlanteans offer him a deal that fulfills both, he may have no choice.

And he's running out of time.

Well, this series has certainly gotten carried away. Starting out as a unknown archeologist, Kaden Jaxx, was kidnapped by a former Secret Space Program Colonel names Slade. He was then kind of forced to start deciphering the glyphs on some ancient stones that were part of pyramids. Turns out these pyramids were on Callisto, a moon of Jupiter. This lead to the discovery that Callisto wasn’t barren, as thought, but the home to a long lost race of people called the Atlantans. They had powers derived from the pyramids that allowed them to build some wonderful cities on Callisto. But, the Atlantans were also peaceful people not used to war.

Anyway, Jaxx finds that he’s actually a descendant of these Atlantans with their DNA and has a power within him that makes him a formidable human. He was also once part of the Secret Space Program (I just can’t get over how lame that sounds) and a hot-shot pilot, a star-fighter pilot. Except now he doesn’t remember any of this and doesn’t know why anyone would want him to decipher glyphs on pyramids on Callisto. Strange thing is, Jaxx’s name is also written all over these pyramids.

Jaxx has now found his way to Callisto, met the Atlantans and opened an interdimensional doorway that has allowed “negative” aliens into this dimension. They are systematically destroying everything they can to include Earth. One group of aliens, the Kelhoon, had a particular unsavory taste for humans and especially human children. With the help of Colonel Slade and President Craig Martelle, they were rounding up large groups of Earth children and transporting them to Callisto for the Kelhoon. Yeah, this is a pretty despicable thing to do, but Martelle is, unfortunately, a career politician and always looking for was to make money off of people. So, he and Colonel Slade had agreed to sell humans, including children, to the Kelhoon for a price. The children were currently being kept in huge warehouses on Callisto.

As mentioned before, Jaxx, is responsible for the Kelhoon and now the Agadon, a race of part machine/part humans bent on conquering everyone and everything in this dimension. It is up to Jaxx to close the doorway he accidentally opened the wrong way. Jaxx had better do it soon because most of the Atlantans are already dead or soon will be and humanity on Earth is just about done in. There is an ancient Atlantan prophecy that says Jaxx is the one to close the doorway which leads to ever lasting peace in this dimension. But, it also infers that Jaxx might die in the attempt. So, does he really want to give up his life for an old fable that might be true or not? Someone has to do something or there won’t be anything or anyone left but the bad guys.

While the story does seem to end here, there is a fifth book coming titled, “Enigma Atlantis”.

If I were writing a review for the series, I'd have to give it five stars. As a reviewer, I personally believe each book in a series needs to be able to stand-on-it's-own. If I were only reading this fourth segment in the series, I'd be somewhat confused Ther are a lot of characters with interesting relationships that are developed in the prior books. I often recommend to series authors that their readers would greatly benefit from a summary of key prior events, and the inclusion of a "Who's Who" or Dramatis Personae as some authors call this. Not only would this help new readers just starting in the middle of a series but, it would also benefit returning readers who may have read many books in the same genre between the later books in the series.
For full enjoyment of this action-packed, exciting, and interesting series, I strongly suggest any reader just discovering this Atlantis series start with book one. The writing skills of the author continue to improve and the editing errors of the earlier books are being addressed. I understand he is planning to revise the earlier books to correct items his BETA Readers have identified.

Beyond Atlantis, the fourth book in The Descendants series - a sci-fi tale written by Brandon Ellis, can best be described as jam packed with action!

The book moves quickly leaving the reader both glued to their seat AND hesitating to arrive at the last page where they will have to wait for the next book to continue reading.

Some of my expectations for how the story would evolve - which by the way I consider to be a nod to the author's exceptional use of foreshadowing - have come to fruition in this book. Yea!

I don't do spoiler's but I would be remiss not to mention that Beyond Atlantis both resolves some of the earlier story lines from the previous books and sets up the backstory and characters for what will come next. Eagerly awaiting the next book!

Highly recommend!

The story arc continues with another fast-paced book that keeps you interested from start to end. As this book begins, we already know the main characters (from Book3 and before) and now get the opportunity to see them grow as they each begin to understand what they must do to succeed. Kaden Jaxx must learn how to lead his generation even as the next generation prepares for the completion of the prophecy. While we lose some of our friends (there is a war after all), we also acquire some new ones. The end nicely sets the stage for Book 5.

I think this may be the best book in the series thus far.

Brandon Ellis has done it yet again. It has been a delight to follow the continuing adventures of Jaxx and his friends. The paths they had to follow to eventually all come together has been incredible. I don't like the way Mya's father uses her though. Most fathers would try to protect their little girls from all evil, but instead he just keeps pushing her for more. I really feel for this little girl. As the story unfolds, and more people die, one can't help but wonder who is going to survive all this turmoil. Thank you Brandon, for another interesting read. I can't wait to read what is going to happen in Enigma Atlantis

I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the final installment to see what happens with Jaxx, Mya, and Drew. From the first page to the last page, there was intense, page-turning action and some laugh out loud moments with the dialogue and character interactions. Beyond Atlantis has become my favorite book in the series, and Brandon Ellis does a great job with characterization, plot and sub-plots, and writing style to keep the story fast-paced and exciting.

Wow! This was quite the space opera. There were battles on earth and Calisto and out in space. Some people died, some I won't miss. There were some tender moments, a little romance, a lot of suspense and some all round great story telling.
It's been a great series so far, but this may very well be the best one so far.
Well worth the read.

Excellent read with clever character names

This series is easy reading and fun. I hope the author is actually friends with his characters’ namesakes. If you like Martelle and similar story lines, pull up this series and you will find your time flies by .

Different view for me on Antlanteans and the negative beings.

Story was good to read on breaks at work. It kept me wanting to know more about each character. Didn't like the spelling errors.
