This graphic novel is a collected edition of the first part of an on-going webcomic that I'm definitely going to start following.

The art includes such joys as a very dramatic talking fox, a giraffe in a top hat, a knitting moth, and a beautiful flying wyvern-dog-rabbit (a "star-eater") that speaks in images. There were also some nice low-key references to other pop culture. A costume the main character wore briefly called back to Sailor Moon, while one background animal helper had some similarities to My Little Pony character design. The wonderful star-eater reminded me a lot of Miyazaki creature designs. The panel shapes were fairly standard, but the creator showed interruptions and excitement in her dialogue bubble shape and panel layout very well.

The main character of the story (but not a main character of the universe) loves food and is super excited about her new talking animal friends. The dialogue contains a number of moments that had me giggling in my reading chair. The cast of human characters is also fairly diverse, which is nice.

There was a little hand-waving in relation to potential plot or universe holes, but considering this is fantasy, it didn't bother me at all.

I've been reading the webcomic... I believe I'm actually in volume 5-ish now.

It's AWESOME!!!

The art does evolve over time, gaining details and beauty (In the beginning, it's a bit shaky, I will not lie); but the plot was excellent from panel one. I believe it's played up a bit more for laughs in the beginning, but has evolved into a rich storyline that I would pleased to recommend to any friend.

It's clean, but deals with some rough topics (the value of a person, torture by bad guys). It's all handled well, at least so far, but I do recommend the reader being 14 just for the sake of some scarier scenes.

The synopsis of this book was completely different than what I thought it would be. The read was interesting, but I don’t understand the purpose of the mascots. I think the story can function without them with a little fine tuning.
I guess I thought this would be about the life of extras. I didn’t realize it was a fantasy story.

Christy has developed a intriguing and beautifully illustrated world packed with engaging characters. Sometimes The story isn't for the faint of heart, but you'll never be bored and you'll be made to feel feelings aplenty.

Art sucks and story sucks. Not worth $10 a piece.
