When a young mother marries a former diplomat and moves to Saudi Arabia, she never imagined that her world and the future of her child would be so tragically and forever altered. The idyllic life that she dreamed of comes to an abrupt end with the revelation that her new husband is, in fact, the head of a banned political organisation in direct conflict with the ruling Al-Saud regime.
What follows is a true account of political unrest in the arrest, torture, intrigue and ultimately heartbreak, set within the everyday existence in Saudi Arabia. The Littlest Hostage is a book that will take you into the world of family life inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as give an insight into the political and human rights abuses suffered by citizens and expatriates alike.
This was an interesting read. I know the author of Don’t be sad, aid al qarni is also in prison for something similar and many others alike which is just unjust. I’m glad the author highlighted her struggles in this book. I’m just saddened that she lost her faith and hope that she find it in the future as it’s a beautiful religion despite how some Muslims act. Islam is all about spirituality, peace, love and justice.
