Little Things by Dipen Shah is nothing but a visual to text of Little Things Season 1. There's nothing more or less in the book. It is far too dark to appeal to most fans of the little things web series. I'd a huge hopes on this novel, now I regret waiting for this book to release for months together.
There are many books out there which are made into movies. But not all those movies based on the novels have become a huge success. In such case we feel like the movie failed to do the justice to the novel. We love the novels more than the movie. But in this case it is contrariwise.
This 207 pages long book can be finished in one-sit reading, within an hour. The fonts are huge, I didn't like the page alignment. Instead of printing 200 and odd pages could have finished in 100 and odd pages. There are a few sketches as well, which again, nothing new as it is taken from the web series directly. If there's anything less in the book that would be a brand endorsement which are used in the web series.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this book for those who have loved & enjoyed watching the Little Things first season. If you haven't watched the web series yet and you want to watch and as well as read this book. I would suggest you to read this book first and then watch the series. At least then you might be satisfied. Or else It's better to skip this novel and just stick to the web series. The Unimpressive writing style, my huge expectations, unexpected postponing of the book release at the regular intervals pushing it for months to months (Was waiting since January) I would rate this book 1.2 out of 5 Stars!
I would like to tell this frankly that I had pre-ordered the book thinking these will be some new stories than the web series. But as i opened the book, I was disappointed. But the stories told in webseries are so lovely and relatable, i enjoyed revisiting them in this new form of a book. I liked Dipen Shah's writing and the method of storytelling. I would have loved if they had included a couple of bonus stories which were not part of the series. But overall, very nice book to read.
And indeed, what is life and love, if not for the little things?
The moment I spotted this book in the bookstore I unknowingly happened to pick it up as I had enjoyed watching the web series on @netflix_in on which this book is based.( Advantages of visiting a physical bookstore 🤷)
Dhruv aka momo and Kavya aka Biryani monster are live in partners in Mumbai. Kavya is very social and outdoorsy while druv is a food connoisseur and a homebody. Inspite of having extremely different personalities and aspirations in life how they share a crackling chemistry forms the crux of the story.
Read this book to know more about the highs and lows of living in. Since the book is based on the screenplay of the show written by @sehgaldhruv90 , it will make more sense to read the book first before watching the show. Definitely @mipalkarofficial and @sehgaldhruv90 light up the screen with their very real acting and since I saw the series first I couldn't help imagine them while reading.
Little Things....I have not watched the net series of this and I liked reading this book. It was sweet, heartwarming and cute story of a couple Dhruv and Kavya.
And yes it's right little things is life worth way more than the big achievements.
I knew this book has nothing new other than what's there in the web series while buying... And I wanted to just read the same instead of watching the web series again... So if you're not here for either of the reasons, don't pick this book... This is like the screenplay of the web series... Sole purpose of this book is reminiscing the series...
