don't judge book by its cover

The advice and recommendation is so simple and can be found in so many different cultures, but that does not diminish its power. Similar to the stoics, psychotherapists, and shamans, Mona Lisa shows us that the thoughts we have are directly related to our health in a two-way feedback system that we have some control over.

I loved her systematic approach throughout the book as she went from introducing the concept, the patient case, the approach, then finally solution. Each page felt actionable by itself even if I wasn’t the person in charge. It’s really inspiring for me personally since this is a field I am thinking about going into! Will buy a hard copy.

Owned this book for over a year, tried to read it a couple times and couldn't get into it.
Finally sat down and forced read the Depression chapter, then skimmed the rest of it. I don't like it. (found it boring & repetitive)
I absolutely love Louise Hay but her voice isn't really present in this book. Which saddened me. Louise has a more entertaining way with words.
The info is great, especially if you don't already have a history or belief in affirmations and intuition. But personally it felt like a waste of my time to attempt to read every word. I personally don't need the convincing.

This book is great to demonstrate the connection between emotional, psychological, and physical symptoms. There is a lot of research and evidence based information in the book. It's interesting to think about your physical symptoms and realize how they could be triggered by other aspects of your life. I like the multi-pronged approach to healing. If you focus on one aspect or way of healing, this can be an especially helpful book.

Mona Lisa Schultz is a medical intuitive and through her sessions she talks to you about your brain and body in way no one else I've read is doing. You combine that to Louise Hay's affirmations, you get a winning combination. This is your prescription for wholeness. There is so much to read and digest that I will be able to glen from multiple readings.

affirmations (bookmarks) / appendix 2, offered some suggestions for vitamins too.
realized that the fastest-acting would probably be prescriptions (and CBT if never introduced to it). don't expect affirmations to work quickly, but why not try

Achtung – Werbung wegen Rezensionsexemplar –

Mir hat da was gefehlt.

Valuable and informative perspective to make better health choices.
I consider it a good book, detailed, with a lot of useful information, I really liked the integral perspective. Although I believe to be totally wholistic, spiritual practices should be included. The conditions that are addressed are depression, anxiety, addiction, brain and learning styles, memory, and an entire chapter explaining how emotions become physical illnesses.
In the energetic-emotional section the conditions are explained in relation to the chakras and the physiological regions involved, this is a medical reading intitutive approach to understand what the body is trying to say and what it is necessary to transform. This part is very useful for the reader, since the information can provide keys to detect or better identify some health imbalance. To complement this part, the authors provide affirmations that can help restore mind-body harmony.
After the condition is approached from a medical point of view, a part that I found very interesting, where information of what happens physiologically, hormonal regulation, neurotransmitters involved, and both emotional effects are provided, as behavioral and damages to health.
Later the authors detail possible integral treatments, taking into consideration supplements, exercises, herbs, and medicines. To illustrate this, also exemplify it with clinical cases, detailing mind symptoms, body symptoms, intuitive reading, mind-body moodiness, solutions with affirmations and treatments (in some cases cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, supplements, acupuncture).
In general, the work of the authors seems to me that it provides a valuable perspective and enough information to help make better decisions in case of experiencing any of these conditions. It is essential that we be well informed, build a broader picture and have knowledge of holistic treatments that help restore our harmony, well-being, and offer us real, permanent and sustained solutions (not palliative, it is not about surviving a condition).
My gratitude to the Publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to review the book

Written by medical intuitive and neuropsychiatrist Dr. Mona Lisa Schultz, in conjunction with Louise Hay, this book is a fascinating amalgam of alternative forms of healing and modern medicine in a holistic approach to mind-body health. Recognizing that prescription medication isn't the only option to heal the body and mind, the authors posit the importance of an awareness of our Chakra/energy centers which may affect our emotions and health. In each chapter, Dr. Mona Lisa shares client histories to illustrates a variety of aspects of the mind ranging from depression, anxiety, and addiction to memory, learning and mystical states.

Louise Hay, known for her work in healing affirmations, shares her "All is Well Tables" at the back of the book. These alphabetically list physical and emotional problems alongside probable causes and new thought patterns to affirm wellbeing. Hocus pocus or insightful; you decide, but either way, there is food for thought. I do not believe it is Louise Hay's intention to tell readers that we make ourselves sick but rather to offer an alternative way of exploring wellness, though I admit to pondering this point upon reading her ideas. Dr. Mona Lisa illustrates in some of her case studies that emotional symptoms are often the first clues to a physical ailment, further rebutting this idea. A bit of the which came first, the chicken or the egg.

Ultimately, it is a thought-provoking exploration of the many ways in which, as the writer Joan Borysenko has said, "we need to simultaneously mind the body and mend the mind.

I believe every book has its own timing - like everything in life! I’ve started reading it in 2017 and thought it’s not very interesting, so I put it back in my library. When I started reading it again in 2019, it was a time I was inclined towards knowing more about healing. This book really spoke to me and found a lot of great insights. The mind-body connection is more powerful and amazing than we think. Our body can tell us what’s wrong in the mind and vice-versa. I’ll read this again at another time. New insights may arise. And, I recommend this for intuitives and empaths who’d like to understand their minds and themselves better.

I liked the breakdown of each section and how the author wrote about the health problems and then offered both natural ways of healing, along with affirmations from Louise Hay, and medical suggestions too. The affirmations and the natural remedies were helpful to me. I received an advance copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was hoping for a companion book to Heal Your Life by Louise Hay, but this was not it. It seemed to be more of an attempted facsimile of the real deal.
