The last thing an angel with no memory needs is to have her soul tied to three sexy demons ...
Surcy was once human, but now she has become so much more. An angel. A protector of humanity. Given incredible powers to execute justice. And as far as she knows, she's always done her job well. So why has she awaken with no memory and her wings stripped away?
Surcy is an angel. In death she became so much more. However, she has one deadly flaw. A weakness her bosses could’ve never imagined.
In death, she’s retained the ability to love.
She has no idea who to trust. The angels want her dead. Her enemies -- the demons -- have become her protectors. And her body? It wants three handsome demons in a way she never imagined ... And she discovers her soul is tied to the same three dangerous demons ...
If she can’t discover the truth in time, she may lose more than a chance at love. She may lose her very soul.

Book two in the Mates of the Realm series. We start with the angel Surcy being punished for her previous choices. her punishment strips all her memories and she is sent back to her to the three demons that she fell in love with. The problem is that she does not remember them at all and they have to fight for her love all over again while still dealing with lots of drama that is going on. There is some great world building and I am hooked on the arcing story line by this point curious as to what will happen next. if you enjoy a good fantasy Rh novel then this is probably the book for you. I really enjoyed it so I give it 4/5 stars.
I enjoyed the idea and liked the characters but the execution left me unsatisfied. The world is scattered and lacks description. You get bits and pieces here and there but for me that was not enough. Also I am not a fan of such writing style. POVs are not clearly distinguished and the inner monologues seem stilled and unnatural. So while the story does have potential, I will be in no hurry to reread it.
I have mixed feelings about this book. While I want to say to I loved it, that is only true about parts.
On thing I loved are the different aspects of how the world is perceived and that an angel can show compassion, dependent on their living scenario. I also loved that each of the characters really has their own story and specialty, in particular the three demons.
While the overall storyline has great potential, it took me far too long to really get immersed in this book. I found it hard to follow the story with various POV provided. Normally I love multiple POV but there wasn’t ever a clear distinguish between each, with some feeling like it swapped mid-POV .
Overall I enjoyed the book, though it left me wanting more. More what, I’m not sure.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author for review consideration.
Meet Surcy. A beautiful angel who is in love with three demons. She returns to Zudessa with the intent to confront Caine. She hopes that there is still light in him, but all that is left is darkness. He imprisons her for a year and then does the cruelest thing he could do to hurt her and those who love her...he wipes her memory takes her wings and sends her back to earth. The three men who love her find her with the aid of another, but she does not remember them and this breaks their hearts. They want to help her remember, or at least give her new memories so that she will fall in love with them again, but it won't be easy. Their missions can't stop as they deal with this situation, but they must also tread carefully. Now that she is no longer an angel, the others will view her as the enemy, and they must protect each other and her if they are to survive this fight. Rebel Lover: An Angel Reverse Harem Romance is book one in Lacey Carter Andersen's new series that branches off from her other reverse harem demon series. I enjoyed this book very much. Surcy is an interesting character. She's strong and definitely not a maiden in distress. She may not still have her memories, her wings or her strength from being imprisoned so long, but she's still her. I like that everything isn't sunshine and roses with Surcy and her demons. I really like that the author lightly ties these back to her demon hunter series as well. I absolutely loved that part. I like the twists and surprises that the author writes in because it helps to keep me engaged. My only complaint is that I wish that we got more background on each of the demons. I wanted to know more about them - both when they were alive and when they were cast down to the demon realm. I want to know more about Caine as well. I like that for right now the story is focused on Surcy, but I'm hoping that the author will branch out a bit and give us more about her men and the other characters that are vital to the story. As this is a reverse harem story, I will warn those who are expecting steamy moments...be prepared to wait. This is more of a slow burn novel. Yes, you'll get some steamy but it won't be throughout the story. I'm completely fine with this because the overall storyline kept me turning pages all the way to the end greedily devouring and left begging for more. I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I couldn't get enough of this story, and I love that it is fast paced and engaging from start to finish. The characters are well done, flawed and absolutely fantastic. I need more! Haha! I can't wait for the next book in this series. This author has yet to disappoint and so I'm sure that many will enjoy!
I spent a good portion of the beginning of this book so unbelievably frustrated with Surcy. You see, I wanted her to know what I knew and reclaim who she was. It is much easier as a reader to be all seeing and all knowing yet difficult to watch the characters you grow to care about struggle and fight against an uphill battle. It took me no time at all to fall in love with Daniel, Mark, and Tristan, however. What these demons, these men, have been through and what they are willing to sacrifice for others, for their Surcy is heartbreaking and heart warming in one. A large war is brewing on the horizon, and their commitment to bringing justice and return balance to the worlds is honorable, and, yet, I wished they could just take a break, be free and get their girl back. But I think a quote from Daniel sums it up nicely, "No one ever said doing the right thing wouldn't get you bitch - slapped all over town". Despite the fact that his humor and this quote made me laugh, it is absolutely true! The men and Surcy must overcome huge obstacles, battles, and beat downs to be victorious, and this is just the first book! This story also exemplifies the deeper truth that nothing and no one is ever black and white, good or bad, but many shades in between, with the exception of one character: Caine! That bastards is pure, true evil! Besides the larger battle occurring in their world, the more intimate one belongs to Surcy and the potential with her demons. The teasing heat of what's between them hints at a future of true satisfaction. Don't fear, some sexy times occur, but Surcy isn't fully realized into what she was or who she will be, so, though sexy, their potential hasn't fully been realized yet! But I'm a girl who loves the tease as much as I love instant gratification. I will happily wait to see Surcy regain herself and her connections with the guys. The sinister plot trying to stop them and undermining their successes only serves to add to the tension, and the fear of an uncertain future. In the end, Caine has more than he should, but we are left hanging with hope, because all is not lost. I am anxious to read the next book, to see more of Surcy and her demons. I have to know what will happen next! I believe the demons and angel's humanity will save us all!
Surcy is an angel. Angels follow orders, they are soldiers. Caine passes judgment on human souls, good or evil. The Angels execute the reward or punishment. They are cold, unfeeling, uninvolved. Except that's not Surcy. She feels, she loves. And she is tied to three demons. Three men unfairly sentenced to the demon-world. When she tries to tell Caine of this mistake, he sends her back to Earth, strips her of her wings and memories, and plans to use her love for her demons against them all. There is a war coming and Caine intends to win. He will use Surcy as an unknowing spy.
Rebel Lover is the second set of stories to the Mate of the Realm series. It's starting off even better than Renegade Hunter. We jump into the story with little background to the four but we do get glimpses of backstory along the way. It made it a bit tricky at the beginning without the history but it did amp up the tension immediately. The dual POVs also made it a little confusing at times since they aren't clearly marked. It takes a second to figure out who is speaking. Surcy and her demons are on a mission to search out The Immortal Ten, the gods and goddesses actually meant to judge humanity. Obviously, Caine has somehow gotten the upper hand and controls all of the power. He will not relinquish it willingly so war is imminent. Surcy was a strong, innocent, moral, trusting, emotional angel before Caine's punishment. By putting her trust in the wrong man, she is now a shell of herself, back to being a cold Angel but more confused and lost. The demons are distinctive. Mark, Daniel, and Tristan. I won't share their secrets or powers, only their basic characteristics. Mark is open, caring; Daniel is closed off and harsh; Tristan is so protective. Surcy brought love into their lives, gave them a purpose for living, made them stronger. Now there is still hope but she doesn't remember the love, her actions cause them pain, and her lack of memory puts them all in danger.
The ending was tough. I'm angry and worried. I can't wait to see what happens next.
I received this book as an ARC in return for an honest review!
First of all this book doesn’t start as your usual RH because Surcy already has three men that she loves. Even though she is an angel and they are demons, she still loves them. Unfortunately her memories of them, her love for them, their relationship and past is erased.
This punishment was bestowed upon her by Caine - the Judge. Not only does she lose her memories, she also loses her wings.
When she wakes up lost and confused because she doesn’t remember or understand why she lost her wings, she is found by three men: Daniel, Mark and Tristan, her lovers, but she doesn’t remember that.
Throughout the book we can see Surcy struggling with the fact that she was in love with three demons, that she chose to fight with them, and against other angels.
We learn that the four of them have the mission to find and restore the Immortal Ten: the gods and goddesses who rule the immortal world and judge souls. We do not know how they disappeared only that Caine is keeping them in the human world without their memories and torturing them. Thus, enabling him to be the only one in power and the only one who judges the souls.
Through flashbacks and different POVs we learn more about the relationship of the four, their individual personalities and powers. I always enjoy reading from different perspective as it gives us a more in-depth perspective of each character. It was only confusing at times when the perspective seemed to change mid-part with no indication of the change.
I didn’t mind the fact that we do not get a lot of background information on why they are searching for the Immortal Ten or why we do not know so much about the characters background. This is ok for me because Surcy has lost her memories and doesn’t know either thus, enabling us to learn with her as she remembers and/or finds out.
I hope to learn more about each character, the mission, their world, and for Surcy to get her memories back and/or fall in love with them allover again.

This is my first read from this author. I'm a sucker for angels. And demons. And basically anything paranormal. But what really got me was the possibility that angels could be bad and that demons were actually the good guys.
Surcy-the angel who is naive. She basically believes that everyone is good and that life is fair. It's aggravating but somewhat endearing.
Mark, Tristan and Daniel are her demons. They are all different but still complement each other.
What I liked: The overall plot. I also liked the idea of The Ten Immortals. It's something different. I've read some others with the same general idea but this is something new.
What I disliked: The first two chapters were from Surcy before she lost her memories. So we got to witness her losing her wings and the punishment she received from loving her demons. I didn't like it. I get that the author put it in there to give us perspective. But for me, I like not knowing why and learning alongside Surcy and her demons to find out what really happened. I think the author did this because her memory loss isn't a major point within the story. Something that is revealed in the end.
Another great book in the Mates of the Realms series!! 5/5 stars! Avid readers of Lacey Carter Andersen had previously met Surcy at the end of the Demon Reverse Harem series, but Rebel Lover introduces Surcy's men, Daniel, Mark and Tristan. Rebel Lover takes readers on an action packed and emotional ride as Surcy tries to remember who she is, as well as who she was before her memories are erased, how these three demons fit into her life, and which side (angels or demons) are truly the bad guys. I loved reading about the beginning of Surcy and her men's journey to find the 10 Immortals as they fight to set the world right again. There is plenty of action, emotions and adventure in this book, not to mention some humor and a lot of building sexual tension that adds just the right amount of heat to the story.
My favourite book set in this world so far! Surcy's story follows on from when she was a side character in Renegade Hunter, but I'd say it's okay to have not read that one. Surcy is a well-developed character already in a RH relationship at the start of the book. When her memories of her lovers are taken from her, we get to see how she learns to trust people she's supposed to love but she believes are her enemies and it's a very interesting dynamic. The plot really gets going when they all start continuing their mission, leading to some great action scenes and character development.
The only reason I don't give the book 5 stars is because I feel scenes could have longer and gone into a bit more detail at times. The pace was a touch too fast for my liking, but that could just be me. Regardless, I'm genuinely looking forward to the next book in Surcy's story!
I am just blown away by this story! The characters were interesting and the plot was very gripping. When the story started, i was really worried that it would be a "flashback to 2 weeks earlier" sort of deal, but i was very pleasantly surprised when that wasn't the case. I feel like this book was a bit of a tease...it was a little glimpse into an incredible world of evil angels, hunky demons, and tortured gods. Definitely a slow-ish burn, but lots of steamy stuff in between. And this, from one of the hottest passages I've ever read:
"With careful movements, she leaned forward and whispered in his ear. “Do I have to beg for it?'"
Love a confident, sexy woman who knows what she wants, honey! I am eagerly awaiting the next installment!
Three demons fight to bring down a tyranny run by a corrupt angel who “judges” where to place newly deceased souls; the same angel who took the demons’ beloved-angel Surcy.
Now, upon finally reuniting with her, they’re faced with the realization that among her missing wings, she is also missing her memories.
Will they be able to convince Surcy that she was in love with three demons in time to enlist her help in returning the power to the gods?
Thoughts? I found this to be a very interesting premise, and while intriguing, it was extremely rushed. The length of the book did not allow me to forge a deep connection with the characters or become absorbed within the plot.
If you’re looking for a quick and easy fantasy read, this is the right book for you.
Oh Lacey you have done it again...this story keeps you riveted from the first page to the last. Our heroine, Surcy finds herself in one heck of a predicament. She doesn't remember her lovable, wonderful, amazing demons. This tale follows Surcy and her demons as they try to find each other again while battling Caine (The Judge of Souls) and trying to re-establish balance in the world and after-world. Piece of cake task, lol. The characters are so well-developed with glimpses into their pasts as they search out The Immortal Ten. Each glimpse making you love them even more. I'm ready to continue on their journey!!!
I greatly enjoyed Renegade Hunter and I was glad to read more about this World from a different set of characters this time. Though we still don't know a ton about Surcy's history due to certain events, I like getting the glimpses throughout as more gets revealed during the story. In this book we also get to learn more about the demon and Angel sides to this World that we didn't see as much of in Renegade Hunter. As usual I like the different characters and the conflict you follow in this one has me curious how the characters will handle what is next. Excited to continue this one as well!
I have read Sharen's story and was really excited to read about Surcey and her demons. This book did not disappoint. I just wish I had all of the parts to read at once! There is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end so hopefully the next book arrives soon. Caine has taken away Surcey's memories so she doesn't remember who she was or what Mark, Daniel and Tristan mean to her. We also find out a little bit about who these three were in their previous lives before being sent to the demon realm. This book has plenty of action to keep me hooked throughout the story. I recommend any of the Mates of the Realms books!
I really wanted to like Rebel Lover. The blurb promised all the ingredients for a great storyline, unfortunately the story felt slow and lacked tension, and I never really connected with the characters. Things just happened with no explanation, such as "they found out" with no background of who "they" were, and how they found out anything. This exclusion from the backstory kept me from falling too deeply into the plot--stuff simply appeared and we hadn't been involved with the finding. There were some minor typos (angles=angels, Cain =Caine) which I may have passed over if I'd been more invested in the action. I've read other stuff by this author, but this series is not for me.
Okay, what I loved about this story was it's an angels/demons story. Even better because it was RH. Add up the fact it's a well written story with multiple POV, a great storyline with interesting characters made reading this book an enjoyable one for me.
What made this an amazing read is the twist in the story: not everything is black and white; light doesn't always equate goodness, just like darkness doesn't equate evil. It has the right amount of action, romance and steamy scenes for everyone's enjoyment. I can't wait to read what happens next.
I received an ARC and I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review.
One female angel falling in love with 3 demons. What consequences could occur??
This story was well written and flowed well. As you read, you get the different perspectives of the characters.
The bad guy in this story is pure evil and power hungry. Really dislike him!!
The guys are hot and full of secrets and flaws. I couldn't help but love them.
I'm angry for Surcy, what happened to her is so horrible. I hope she eventually gets a happy ever after!!! But it definitely doesn't happen in this story.
Fantastic read! Surcy has lost her wings and her memories, she’s been sent back to her demons to be an unwilling spy, but the guys will do whatever it takes to get back their angel! I loved Surcy and her trio...look forward to them getting their HEA, although I’m pretty sure it’ll be a long road! Caine...at the end of the book, the anger towards him was immense! Such a powerful villain...can’t wait to see him get what he deserves!
I think this book has a lot of potential. I liked that each demon had a unique reason they died and interesting past life/ability.What and how the demons are trying to accomplish with Surcy along for the ride is a really interesting and nicely sets up for sequels.
However, I struggled with the framing. It is set in a world I read about before, so there was many times where I was thinking, I vaguely remember this character, or this world detail, but this particular book didn't stop and explain it. Since Surcy loses her memory early in the book, it makes sense why she doesn't stop and explain things. However, her three demon lovers have theirs and they make a lot of statements and we have POVs for them, where they don't clarify some things, but not enough for me. Then when you have the characters originally falling in love outside this book and again, making references to things we hear about but don't see, I was left feeling a bit disconnected and focused more on what was missing then what was happening now. I think I could really like the characters if I can ignore everything I want to know but it isn't telling me.
This was an unexpectedly good read. When Surcy is reunited with her Demons, she is lost and confused. Not to mention angry and attracted to them. While trying to give her time and space, her demons are still trying to understand what happened as well as fulfill their goals, including Surcy falling in love with them again. A bit hard to follow who is speaking or being spoken of at times, but otherwise, well done. 3rd person POV. Cliffhanger. A little steam.
I read the first in this series awhile back. So I was super excited when the second story came thru. I love Surcy and her Demons. So much hotness and compassion for their angel in this story. Caine is a grade A hole. He wipes her memories and sends her back in hopes she will betray the demons she loves so much. Not knowing them or understanding home she could possibly love them. I couldn’t put this book down. It was a must read for me.

Poor Surcy. This book follows angel Surcy and her three men. She's a great MC and her men are all awesome too. Caine has taken so much from her including her memories and her love for the three. This book was a little different in the fact that the relationship was already established but now they are basically starting from scratch with Surcy. Rebel Lover is a definite emotional ride. It pretty much as it all, action, adventure, and just a little steam. oh and Caine is a JERK!
I love how this is written from her demons points of view. Most of the time you only get the angels sides. So this is a nice fresh look through their eyes for a change. Also to see how they feel as well, maybe all demons are so bad right? I also love how she’s bringing the story together with who they are trying to find to change the one who rules the underworlds. I couldn’t stop reading this. And can’t wait for book two to come out
4.5 I really enjoyed this book. I like Surcy and her smoking hot and swoony demons. Canie is chilling and fear provoking. This book had much less sexy time than the last book but was still sensual and when referenced super hot! The writing was even better than the last book! I can’t wait for more. I requested and received an arc copy of this book. This is my voluntary, true, and honest opinion.
This book is fast pace but oh so good. Angels, Demons and so may others all in this story. This book just pulls you in and you cannot climb out until you get to the ending which waiting at the end is a cliffhanger but to me it wasn’t a harsh cliffy like some authors like to do. Anyway all in all this book was awesome and I definitely look forward to reading the next book in this series.
This story is full of cruelty, ominous situations, mistreating but also love, care and fight for possibility of better future. That’s it, the possibility only, no matter the injuries. No matter the pain and struggle. It’s or fight or be damned (or more exactly stop existing). Surcy is completely lost, no memories. And her three demons have not much hope to get her really back, but they do not give up. This story is really interesting.
I enjoyed this story, we get to see more of the angel side rather than the demons which give nice insight. I really liked the characters and how we got glimpses into their abilities and histories. I look forward to learning more about Surcy and her past. I am really looking forward to more in this series.
This book follows Surcy and her three demon lovers as they battle a corrupt angel and his warriors. The plot was super interesting as it’s not often you see angels as the villains. Although her memory is gone, Surcy is still able to overcome, and her guys are downright swoon-worthy. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend!
I liked this book but there's something missing and i can't put my finger in it. The blurry line between POV's? Or maybe the fact that if Caine is so powerful that he could get to Surly any time, anywhere why didn't he do it earlier? And why keep her prisioner for so long? I see so much potential (Nightmare Hunter is awsome) and i'm sure next book will be 5*
