"The Wanting" is a love story of destiny, sexual exploration, and determination to pursue true love. Told by the two main characters, the reader gains perspective of each one's personal desires and motives. I was rooting for them to finally be together, even as I immersed myself in the lusciousness of their individual sexual encounters with domineering partners. The story was delightfully fast-paced, but my inner domme forced myself to slow down and savour it. Well done, Ms. Strigas!

"The Wanting" is about Serena and Teddy who first spot each other in a parking lot where they stare at each other but don't actually meet. Five years after this encounter, Teddy still remembers the exact date, and Serena hasn't stopped thinking about him either. They finally meet again by chance, but that same night, they both become involved with different people.

The beginning of "The Wanting" shares some of Serena's thoughts: "I'll smoke under the fan and write on anything available. I'll have pens in every corner of a room." But Serena isn't really speaking to us. She's speaking to her future soul mate: "These are just a few of my secrets that I'll never tell you because you don't even exist." But she wants him to know more about what she hopes from him anyway: "I think our first kiss should be up against a wall." With lines like: "I'm restless. Cleaning is my pet peeve. Wine is like sugar to me. Jim Morrison is my first poet crush," I finished Chapter 1 wanting to see everything through Serena's eyes, but Chapter 2 continues the story with the narrator switching to Teddy. The book alternates chapter by chapter between Serena's and Teddy's points of view. Personally, I would have preferred to read the entire book from Serena's point of view. That being said, "The Wanting" is still a complete page-turner filled with romance, sex, and the mystery of unexplained connections between souls who have barely met. As a lover of Strigas' poetry books, "The Wanting" proves that she knows how to bring the characters in her poems to life in her novels as well!

When two people meet and fall in love, is it a spiritual connection or just the lure of desire? Explore all the facets of relationships through the eyes of Serena and Teddy. There’s an undeniable attraction these two share, even though they’re with other people. Questions bombard their thoughts as they explore the fascinating world of sex and relationships. What is love? Are two connected souls meant to belong together? Is love only possible in an exclusive relationship? Is the yearning of souls nothing more than wanting erotic pleasure? Watch it all unfold before your very eyes…

The Wanting is an erotic romance unlike anything I’ve read before. It’s written in poetic prose with immense feeling and subtext. While reading, I kept thinking to myself how The Wanting reminded me of an arthouse movie on love and sex. There’s not a clear plot structure and most of the time, I had no idea what was happening. But when I reached the end of the story, I understood more about these characters than I did at the start. Maybe that’s the point of the story, the journey. With lyrical prose and intense emotion, The Wanting is a reading experience you won’t forget.

This is a beautifully crafted erotic romance, an unconventional journey of seeking desire, and learning that desire without soul leaves one wanting for the person who embodies both. An incredibly sexy book with intriguing characters and a lot of intense passion.

Wow! This book was so different from your typical romance read and I loved it. If you're interested in taking a sexy, funny, and sweet look at the meaning of love and soulmates, then definitely check this one out. Nothing in life is easy and straightforward, but it sure can be fun, and the author really proves that in her book.
The hardest part is falling in love with all the characters. It's also the most relatable part when decisions have to be made and you must either follow your heart or stick with something comfortable and known.
I highly recommend this book! Even if you aren't the typical romance reader, I think anyone could relate to these characters and find themselves thinking about the difference between passion, love, and everything in between!

Do soulmates exist? is a fiction romance story that is unconventional and teaches of the kind of love that you not only desire but wish for it to embody a soul as well.
The story revolves around Serena and Teddy. The connection between the two is strong, and so it builds an interesting concept for a storyline. I believe the fundamental notion of the story was for one to believe in soulmates.

The literature is modern, and so is the romance. There are many twists to the dynamic of the tale, and it keeps you intrigued, wanting to know what is to happen next.

I recommend this book to those who like to read romance stories.

This was a great story! The premise of the storyline can be compared to One Day in December but a little bit of spice to it. Okay, maybe a loooot of spice. Teddy and Serena see each other from across a parking lot and it’s love at first sight. The problem… they don’t actually meet until years down the road but like all romance stories they each meet someone new the same night. Now, do you leave them for a chance with someone you haven’t even met or give up on a romanticized encounter for someone wholesome and present? The story unfolded beautifully and although the close encounters were frustrating it made me love the journey even more!
