Once again, Caroline Clemmons has out done herself again. As usual this is now my favorite. I have enjoyed the other books of this series.
Your heart has to go out to Daniel and his family for all that they have been through. His strong, courageous and loving family always being there for Daniel. The demons that Daniel must face, the hope that has dwindled to nothing. His life is now the same nothing, his future is bleak. He once dreamed of having a wife, and family. Those dreams are lost forever. He is no longer the jovial man he used to be, he is miserable, in his eyes his life holds no future.
Clara Van Hoosan is from Amsterdam. She lives with her aunt and uncle, after the tragic death of her parents. She has never known love and warmth, her aunt Petra has trained her in how to clean a house. She has lived in a very cramped room on the third floor. At the age of sixteen she began studying as a heilgymnast, a new field in mechanotherapy. Clara is one of the best therapists in this new field. Her supervisor receives a plea from America for help, Clara is sent. The introductions are surprising on both sides.
Daniel is against Clara helping him, Clara doesn't care what Daniel wants. Through her strong determination and her caring, loving nature she slowly starts to win Daniel's trust and heart.
This book was tremendously good. I loved it. Caroline Clemmons keeps her quality of writing the same for all books she writes.
Daniel McClintock was hurt, unable to walk. To Daniel his life was over, with nothing to look forward to. His family was so loving, supportive and patient with him. He secluded himself away from others, even some of his family.
Clara Van Hoousan was a very accomplished heilgymnast. She had finished her studies in this field when she was 16. She was one of the best, her supervisor received a request for help from America. Clara was going to America!!! She wondered how different it would be. When she arrived she was introduced to everyone, she was not who everyone expected her to be. Daniel was not as she expected him to be.
There was no way that Daniel was letting this woman touch him. Clara didn't pay attention to him at all, and went about helping him. He would walk again if she had anything to say about it. She didn't expect her heart to get involved.
I really have liked every book that Caroline has written and this one is no exception. I start reading with an open mind then the plot is so darned good I don't stop until I am done. I just love the characters that she has written about also in this book I have found my dream person. Caroline hit a home run with this!
Oh I thoroughly enjoyed this forth book in the McClintock series! I felt so sorry for Daniel at the end of the last book. I should have known Caroline Clemmons would give him his own book. She sent to him an angel in the form of Clara. She was spunky and confident, just what he needed to want to care again about a future. I enjoyed this storyline, so different from others and her characters are always so likeable, it's fun to follow them to their HEA. JudyE
I love the McClintock family so to visit again these wonderful characters was like returning home. Daniel is not a happy chappie when he first meets Cara Roos Van Hoosan he is rude obnoxious and ignorant but guess what Cara can handle that. This story helped me understand a little of paralysis patients and how they feel frustrated and helpless, the treatment to help patients to be more independent and in some cases walk again as Cara did for Daniel and the hard work both patient carer or therapist put into there recoverery. I loved this story and found it intriguing funny and compassionate a really inspiring read. I would recommend everyone to read this series you won't be disappointed.
I enjoyed this story about a young woman from Holland train as a physical therapist. Like many Europeans, she knows English, and speaks it properly, which made her character believable. She answers the call to help a young boy in America who was paralyzed by an accident two years before. I enjoyed the description of her therapy method. As for her patient, the young boy turns out to be older. His family and doctor who sent for a therapist are quite surprised to discover a woman in that role. Along with some difficult personalities to deal with, and the common situation of the patient falling in love with the woman helping him, I enjoyed the story to the end.
This was my first Carolina Clemmons book and I head great expectations from the other good reviews. And I was so disappointed! The storyline is good, and there are some good ideas, but everything is just rushed and superficial. ( 12 years of disagreement and disllike are resolved in a 5 minutes conversation?!) What a pity!
Stubborn would be an apt description of Daniel. Paralyzed by his horse rolling on him, he has lost faith that he is capable of any recovery. Clara is trained for this and refuses to give up on him. There are many times to pit their wills and yet an attraction is there. Good series that kept me enthralled.
I voluntarily chose to leave a review of this Happy Ever After Romance of Daniel & Clara. I recommend this heartwarming romance I hope you enjoy it ...
