You know a story is dark when this volume contains more than one massacre, and yet it can still be considered the calm before the storm 😱
This volume picks up halfway through the Yi City arc and here, the original was definitely better than the adaption which actually skipped an entire story beat towards the end, leaving me confused after watching it. Poor A Qing was absolutely robbed of her time to shine in the drama, (which is a weird contrast to all the other female characters who all got more screentime compared to the novel) she contributed so much more to the Yi City plot here, both in her actions and in her characterisation, and I finally understand why people like her character so much.
Speaking of female characters, I was quite surprised at how much of a non-presence Jiang Yanli is here compared to the drama where she was an important supporting character. The same goes for Wen Qing who literally hasn't even shown up yet despite being quite prominent for much of the drama. If I hadn't watched the show first, I likely would not have even noticed this since admittedly I care way more about the main couple than the supporting characters, but Wen Qing in particular really didn't stand out to me as a character here which is surprising considering that I loved her in the drama.
Ok, now for the most important part of the story, the main couple! While I'm super impressed at how the drama managed to convey their relationship so beautifully with all the censorship and without ever confirming it outright, I still obviously prefer the clear cut romance between the two in this source material. The scenes with drunk Lan Wangji were already some of the funniest and most ship tease-y ones in the drama, but the novel really had no chill, I was actually giggling out loud reading the post-Yi City scene with all thebaby junior cultivators, top tier comedy right there 😂
I guess it's onto the feels train (as if this one didn't already have enough feels) in the next volume, gimme that grey and grey morality!

This is my first and favorite Chinese novel!!
I love the story and all the adaptations that followed. I haven't cried this much over fiction since watching Infinity Wars ( Iron man fan).
At first I was frustrated with how many times the plot had to leave and revisit the present setting of the story. Why couldn't they start from that first flash back to the past and work their way forward??!!!.
Later, I became too immersed in the story to even care and valued those "flashbacks" as foot notes, though very extensive. I skipped them twice and regretted it.

A hangulata nálam most is betalált. Nevettem, izgultam és sírtam is - komolyan vállalhatatlan kezdek lenni, és a korral ez bizony csak rosszabb lesz. Ébren tartott és kikapcsolt. A démoni kultiváló nagymestere szabadszellemű, vidám, huncutságra kapható lélek, tökéletes kontrasztot alkot a szabálykövető, becsületes, tiszta jellemű jádeszoborral - erre különben az előbbinek van is egy elmélete -, jin és jang, ha úgy tetszik, ez pedig tökéletesen működött.

Llegas al segundo tomo y te das cuenta que no hay vuelta atrás. Que Lan zhan va hacer tu personaje favorito y We Wuxian como patriarca YinLing lo mejor que has podido leer como personaje. Un genio del arte demoniaco

Во-первых, несколько милых моментов между Вэй Ином и Лань Чжаном. Я почти пищала, закрывала книгу, открывала и пищала снова.
Во-вторых, мне очень понравилась история о троице из города И, полная трагичности, боли и слез, но так же дружбы и переживаний. Как оказалось, эта история изначально писалась как отдельная, но я очень рада, что ее вплели сюда. Прекрасно и больно.
Мне нравится узнавать новое о прошлом героев, хотя уже и к настоящему хочется вернуться, ведь там тоже интрига интриг!

Es ist einfach fantastisch wie die Reise weitergeht, wie tief die Story geht und wieviel Liebe man für all die verschiedenen Charaktere entwickeln kann. Auf wieviele Einzelheiten, auch auf die anderen Bücher bezogen, geachtet wird. Gerade das Ende hat mir mein Herz auf so vielen Ebenen gebrochen ❤️ umso spannender geht es jetzt mit Buch 3 weiter!

Este libro se me ha hecho un poco más largo que el anterior.
Poco a poco se van descubriendo partes del pasado de los personajes y se va entendiendo mejor las relaciones que hay entre ellos en el presente, pero en ocasiones las historias se enrevesan mucho y se alargan sin necesidad, lo que hace que se hagan un poco pesadas.
En general la historia me gusta bastante. Tiene muchos elementos y poco a poco se van entendiendo las motivaciones de todos los personajes.
Poco a poco se van descubriendo partes del pasado de los personajes y se va entendiendo mejor las relaciones que hay entre ellos en el presente, pero en ocasiones las historias se enrevesan mucho y se alargan sin necesidad, lo que hace que se hagan un poco pesadas.
En general la historia me gusta bastante. Tiene muchos elementos y poco a poco se van entendiendo las motivaciones de todos los personajes.

Ngl this book felt a little slower than the first one but it must be because it is my 3rd time going through the same plot points that are less centered on lwj and wwx's relationship. Also the chapters were way much longer. BUT!!! none of the things I mentioned made me want to rate this book with less stars. I loved it so much!!!! I am a sucker for romance and the little moments we got in this volume were freaking precious :(

Volume 2 covers ch. 38 to ch. 58. There's a lot more time spent in the present than I remember.
But imma be honest: I skipped the Yi City and Nie MingJue backstories, and also the downfall of the YunmengJiang sect. It's all just long and painful.
But I will try to reread all the other backstory parts.
I'm in for a long ride.

Pela divisão que estou seguindo esse livro continua o arco Xiao Xingchen, Xue Yang e Song Lan com os flashbacks e declaro que foi uma das duas únicas vezes em que eu chorei durante The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation.
Entendo alguns acharem meio chato por esse arco ser grande e ser encaixado mais circunstancialmente do que por realmente ter relação muito forte com os dois eventos principais do livro, mas eu gosto. Já achava essa parte da história triste em The Untamed e agora entendendo de verdade eu não me aguentei.
Acho que foi nesse livro em que eu mais lembrei de “Crianças Peculiares” por as vezes achar difícil me situar e encaixar personagens e histórias novas na jornada dos protagonistas enquanto aparecem como interferências e comentários pelo caminho até o destino.
Algumas vezes isso me fazia esquecer os objetivos deles e me perder no contexto do que estava rolando no presente (toda a busca pelas partes daquele corpo até então desconhecido, que vai levar ao segundo grande plot/evento de mdzs); bem estilo de jornada de Peculiar Children com um destino em mente e encontrando com 50 desvios e informações, até porque o protagonista também está descobrindo o que aconteceu depois da morte dele e tudo que vai se desenrolar até o segundo plot.
Enfim, fui presenteada novamente com o Lan Wangji bêbado e a ficha do Wei Wuxian pros próprios sentimentos finalmente começando a cair.

Acho que esse livro é o que mais tem flashback de antes do Wei Wuxian morrer, nas situações pré-sunshot. Talvez seja o que engloba os pontos que eu mais gostei também. Realmente não foge muito do que mostra em The Untamed, só acho vacilo não terem feito a cena do Lan Wangji completamente surtado na caverna mordendo o Wei Wuxian.

ребята в городе И. встретили дух А-Лин, слепой девушки, и нашли труп сяо син чэня. он показала им историю, как они подружились с сюэ яном (который к тому моменту уже вырезал целый клан и былв врагом просто син чэнь его не узнал), а также как сюэ Ян предал сяо син чэня. он заставил его убить лучшего друга и кучу обычных людей, прожив с ним несколько лет. Всё раскрылось, вэй у сянь и лань чжань убили сюэ Яна. и освободили души сяо син чэня и а-лин, которые сюэ Ян раскооо на куски и держал в плену.
ребята пошли в постоялый двор, там вэй начал что-то чувствовать к лань чжаню, гладить его ��еснички и тд. лань чжан напился, они начали играть в догонялки, он его связал, потом вэй ин его поцеловал. вэй ин в шоке, лань чжань ничего не помнит. все ребята уверены, что они встречаются.
вэй и лань пришли на совет орденов. оказалось, что мо сюань юй приставал в прошлом в йзинь гуань яо (своему брату), был скандал. вэй рассказал цзинь лину, что любит лань чжаня, а тот все слышал.
вэй у сянь, превратились ы бумажного человечка, обнаружил, что цзинь гуан яо хранит у себя голову не мин цзюе (то есть стоит за преступлениям, совершенным разрубленным не мин цзюе). они с лань чжанем попытались его раскрыть, но цзинь гуан яо ловко вывернулся, по пути раскрыв, что это вэй ин в теле мо сюань юя. ребятам пришлось бежать.
П облачные глубины сжёг орден вэнь. вэнь чжао приказывает всем заклинаиелям пойти с ним на озоту, они изут. лань чжань ранен, вэй ин хочет его понести, но не получается. вэй ин флиртует с девушкой, лань чжань ревнует. в ходе драки с вэнь чжао ребята разбудили черепаху, в итоге все сбежали, а наши двое сражались раненые вдвоём, попали в неловкуб ситуацию, когда вэй ин разделся и напугал лань чжаня. также вэй тн сказал, что не интересуется парнями.
с трудом ребята победили черепаху, помогая друг другу. их нашли в итоге и спасли.
любовница вэнь чжао напала на пристань лотоса, мать и отец цзян чэна погибли, сами ребята спаслись.

Throughout parts 1 and now 2 this story have left me with a feeling that is hard to explain but I think maybe I pinned it down. This story feels like returning to your hometown or highschool years down the road where you know where everything is and recognize names and faces but no one has any idea who you are because you don't look the same as you did 15 years ago. So we have our protagonist Wei Wuxian going through this life in a new body where he knows most people and knows much of the land and of course blows them away with cultivation knowledge but nobody knows who he actually is so is having to recreate bonds and regain status. I've felt that this story is odd, especially at the beginning, and I think that may be a root of why. It smooths out midway through volume one, becoming easier to read once the premise is fully set, but that feeling still lingers. I'm starting to look at it as a fascinating storytelling method rather than something that is maybe wrong with it, because I'm really loving this world and these characters.

- i absolutely loved jin ling and the boys of the clan lan together, they were so fun to read about. also the parts where wwx were a sort of mentor for them even if they didn't know who wwx was indeed. the disciples of the lan clan are so funny. the meaning of the ribbon >>>>>>>>>>>.
- a-qing's story and the backstory of xxc vs xue yang was extremely good and full of perspective, btw a-queen is how i'm going to refer to her. however, the reason why xue yuan became a full on villain felt short for me.
- lwjjjjjjjjjj i wanna know when this love started so deep.
- i actually wanna know a lot bc differently of tgcf this doenst look like have a book of flashbacks BUT I NEED THOSE. i wanna know when does the key change for wwx to become the patriarch and i wanna see wen ning and the rest of the people.

sadly i didn't like this as much as the first book. it wasn't bad, but at times i struggled to push through, because it just didn't hold my attention.
-i really liked the first part though, which was the conclusion of a plotline started in the first book and actually told the story of a-qing. that's probably also the most memorable chapter from this volume.
-tbh i can barely even remember what else happened, i can recall something with a big turtle thing which was also set in the past, that was fun too.
-lan wangji&wei wuxian are still a great pair though, i love their banter and the slowburn angsty romance.
-other than these tho, not much stood out to me this time. i still do plan to finish the series for those two idiots and i'll probably start the tv show at some point as well.

อ่านเล่ม 1 แล้วทิ้งไปเป็นปีเพิ่งปัดฝุ่นเอามาอ่านใหม่ ตอนเล่มแรกนี่เรายังอ่าน ๆ หยุด ๆ แต่พอขึ้นเล่ม 2 แล้วติดหนึบอ่านรวดเดียวจบเลยค่ะ สนุกมากก บทตอนของแม่นางอาชิ่งก็สลดหดหู่มากก นังเซวียเหยา!!! น่าหั่นให้ตายแล้วปลุกมาให้โดนหั่นอีกรอบเลยค่ะ อิน 555
จีบกันได้น่ารักดี เว่ยอิงกับหลานจ้าน ถึงพวกเค้าจะไม่รู้ตัวว่ากำลังจีบกันก็เถอะ 😘 หรือว่าจะมีคนรู้แต่คงไม่ใช่เว่ยอิงแน่นอน นางดูบื้อกับเรื่องนี้มากก ทั้งที่ดูช่ำชองกับสิ่งนี้อะนะคะ
จบแบบตัดจบค้างอีก ร่างของโม่เสวียนอวี่โดนเปิดเผยแล้วว่าเป็นปรมาจารย์อี้หลิง เว่ยอู๋เซี่ยนจากการยอมรับของกระบี่คู่กายเดิมแล้วแต่ เล่มที่เหลือคงโดนตามล่าทั่วสารทิศ
ไปต่อเล่ม 3 ค่ะ คราวนี้จะอ่านให้จบเรื่องซะที ไม่ทิ้งไว้เป็นปี ๆ แบบนี้แล้ว 😂 ซีรี่ย์ก็จะไปดูให้จบหลังอ่านนิยายจบล่ะค่า^^

Még mindig rengeteg teljesen magyartalan, vagy egyszerűen csak furcsán hangzó mondat van, meg persze egy-két jó öreg typo (de legalább már nem láttam egy Wang Lanjit sem, úgyhogy nem panaszkodom).
Az első résznél azt mondtam, hogy olyan, mintha a fordító jobban beszélne kínaiul, mint magyarul, de most még ezt sem tartom igaznak, ez most inkább olyan volt, mintha az angol fanfordítást fordították volna le és azt is rosszul.
Ugh, do better, Ulpius. Nyilván az alapmű sem tökéletes, de azért ennyire nem rossz.

Esta autora tiene el don de destrozar nuestros corazones con escenas que quedarán en nuestra memoria por siempre. Y agradezco eso. Me gusta poder conectar con los sentimientos de los personajes y aunque no esté de acuerdo con las acciones de algunos de ello, están tan bien desarrollados que puedo entender el por qué hicieron lo que hicieron.
Me gustó viajar a través de estas páginas. De este mundo.

The plot thickens. A lot of flashbacks still, but they are part of the main plot and so this book was still very enjoyable. Also I love how in this series one chapter is about gay fun and the other is about witcher-level adventures and the next is about the decimation of a whole clan. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

The sequel is well developed, and I really like Wei Wuxian's moments with Lan Wangji.
Flashbacks can be annoying for breaking the flow of the story at important moments, but once you start them, you soon dive into the story again.
